Oh man! This one is soooooo slow. It took an hour to get our food and it was cold. Still tasty but YIKES The one over by Avenues is better and the service is faster. We won't be back to this one unless something changes. What a shame - grass fed beef and tallow fries should be AMAZING!!! Oh and the QR code to leave a google review was deactivated so they must know there are problems read more

Found a pubic hair in my burger after watching a worker on the grill stick his hands all the way down his pants right before working the grill. Bathrooms are disgusting and manager is always rude and not helpful. Used to be a good place now not so much. read more

We visited Steak 'n Shake off the San Jose exit of 295 today. It was my first time at a Steak 'n Shake in a while. I finally got around to trying those tallow fries, and they are worth it! Very positive flavor difference. The service was fast and friendly. The food was fresh and delicious. At one point, Jacob came out and told us the staff had been doing milkshake training in the back and offered my kids a complementary milkshake. They were super excited. He even threw in little paper hats for them. Also, they now serve milkshakes with super thick milkshake straws, and it's so satisfying. We chatted with him for a little bit and learned that he had just taken ownership of the franchise three weeks ago. So the place is under new leadership, and so far, the whole operation is doing a bang up Job. Overall, it was a great experience. Highly recommended. I will be treating myself again at this location. read more

Steak ’n Shake - Fast Food Near Me - Jacksonville, Florida

The food was good. The service was ok. The restaurant was quiet and fairly clear however, the tray I received was not. There were stains on it and a dried white substance on it. I was only here because a EV fast charger was near by, I wouldn't return. read more

We came on Sunday around 7pm it was empty so we ordered via kiosk and received our order pretty fast. Its a normal fast food joint. Can't complain at all. Food was good, came out hot and I liked it. My first time trying their burgers and its seasoned pretty well. read more

Steak ’n Shake - Fast Food Near Me - Jacksonville, Florida

Food is pretty good. Burgers aren't bad. I guess they are healthier than McDonalds. Pricing is also good, its cheaper than Chick Fil A at least. But the big problem is service. I literally ordered a single steak burger and waited for at least 20 minutes. And I dont even think they were that busy. I like the vibe of the restaurant, so that was good, but I was doing carryout so that didn't matter. read more

Horrifyingly bad; do not go to this location. First of all, we went around 12pm. There was a man picking up an order and one other couple in the restaurant. We were told that there were no shakes or ice tea available. We wanted to try a shake, so this was an immediate disappointment. Our burgers were ready about 25 minutes later which was surprising given the fact that the restaurant was almost completely empty. The burger itself was dry as a bone and did not taste good. The fries and the pickles were the best thing that we were served. I had to ask for the ketchup dispenser to be refilled. The equipment is old and needs a replacement or a deep cleaning. Some of the windows are dirty; there are multiple stains on the ceiling due to leaks. The trash had not been picked up in the ladies room and there was no toilet paper. There was trash in the parking lot. Don't waste your money or your time. If the restaurant is this dirty on the outside, imagine what the kitchen looks like. Does anyone care about this disaster of a restaurant? read more

Got 2 shakes here and it tasted like there was something wrong mixed into it. It had a foul and gross taste. Reported it in the Contact Us (but they never respond). Very odd and concerning. I initially thought it might have just been me, but had someone else taste it to confirm. Now regret having them taste it in the event that it is something harmful. Saving the shakes just in case there is a health issue, but I will not be returning here again. read more

This used to be a great little place to go to. It was personal, friendly, clean, and the service was great. Hadn't been in awhile and the family and I stopped in and you have to order from a kiosk, which is impersonal, the service was crummy, the place was filthy, our order was messed up, you have to have tickets just to get the coke machine to work, and that didn't work half the time. The kids wanted ice cream and I'm glad we didn't order any. We left and I looked up reviews and saw how gross this place has become. Wish I read the reviews first before bringing my family to this place. Will not come back. read more

Waited a long time for the order in the car and the order was incorrect. They apologized but as driving away the food was wrong.

the machine didn't work n i wanted a shake and it smelled weird and the seats were dirty

Update. I ordered online and picked up at 930pm. It was still good and hot and made to order.

Last time I was there they were out of onions and also weren't accepting credit cards. Today they're out of pickles. Even the grocery store sells pickles. They should just close this restaurant. read more

They are always forgetting things with orders online, I have yet to receive an order where everything I paid for is in there

Consistently terrible. Takes 20 minutes to even get someone to greet you at the drive through to place an order. I've left more times than I've been able to wait. Insane how it's still in business. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere read more

I recently visited your restaurant and wanted to make light of the work attire of the employee at the drive up window. Her uniform appeared quite dirty, beyond anything one can just overlook. As a customer, I believe cleanliness plays a significant role in maintaining a positive dining experience. Also her appearance made me as a consumer uneasy with purchasing food from your restaurant. Her appearance tells me cleanliness is not important to her when also preparing food. I wanted to bring this to your attention in case it has been overlooked. I hope this feedback is helpful in maintaining the high standards I know you aim for. Thank you for your time. read more

I decided to give it a second chance but the place is a joke, incredibly rude young lady greeted me at the window without saying a word to me, i asked what the price was and she mumbled my total. They quickly had my order up this time around expect they managed to completely forget to add the bacon to my bacon cheese burger. Best they could do is have me coke back for a reorder but i live +20 mins away This wouldn't be a big deal expect they always manage to mess up something and be quite rude while doing it. You can get better service anywhere else in jax so go at your own risk Good shakes when they have the tho!! read more

GrubHub driver left our food at the door on the ground. No barbecue sauce. Other than those issue. Hot, fresh and fantastic come to mind. For a quick pick me up one can never go wrong with steak and shake. We haven't been in a while. However, we remember going 3 to 4 times a month. Fast food at its finest. Steak ’n Shake - Chicken tenders onion rings and a Strawberry shake - Fast Food Near Me - Jacksonville, Florida

The main reason we stopped here tonight was to get a milkshake. Steak n Shake has a bunch of different flavor options but we were extremely disappointed when they told us they had no shakes. Steak n Shake has no shakes? Okay... I ordered the $4.44 meal that came with the double burger and fries came with. The burger is the only reason for the stars. The fries were average. They do have a drive thru but the girl over the speaker was incredibly rude. After we ordered she said "okay". No total, no asking about sauces, no apology for the lack of shakes-- nothing. We wouldn't be likely to return to this particular Steak n Shake location. read more

Soooo good. I don't frequent fast food too often and haven't been to SnS in a while. They recently provided an offer for joining their e-club which gives you a free double and fries. After this experience my goto fast food with definitely be Steak and Shake. The burger was so tasty and the shoestring fries were great. The meat was to juicy and flavorful - I may start craving these more than I should. Great job! read more

Sad to see the decline of the quality, portion size, cleanliness and overall operations of this Steak and Shake location. I've tried to give them the benefit of the doubt that it was an off night, lack of staff, etc. on at least three separate occasions, but no more. The filth that's apparent on the windows and register screen really made me question if I should trust the food safety. I was the only car in the drive thru line, the inside was dark with chairs on the tables. I would be surprised if this store could continue the way they have been for much longer. The milkshakes seemed under filled and had an off taste. The fries were their standard flavor and temperature, so that's where they get one star. The meat of the burger had NO taste. It was bizarre. Very disappointed overall. read more

Steak 'n Shake.......is a restaurant. It's not a drive through, make me a sandwich so I can go home and feel like I made money. It's not......how much gas can we waste today waiting behind ten other idiots whom have done the same. You dirty dummies don't even tip. It's a restaurant. They provide service. Grow up, go home, make a sandwich, so they can clean up for the rest of us. Why do you even come to Mandarin. We don't like you. We make money in so many ways, you should be paying us to eat sandwiches and drink milkshakes, and you just park....shut your vehicle off......and hand over the keys. You're driving for the wrong purpose. That license is property of The United States Government, not you. You're not an "owner". We shared this with you. Did you earn it? read more

My boyfriend and I came here at about 11:30 and order a number 1 and number 6. Whoever was on drive thru had an attitude rom the start. Once we were done ordering we waited for the line to move, which didn't move. She came back thinking we were a different car which we let her know we weren't but we wanted to add one more thing to our order and she sighed super loud and then immediately went silent for a second and finally said "can you move up?" but there was a car in front of us, so we let her know and then she said "how many cars are behind you?" so my boyfriend said "um i don't know but can i add tenders?" and she said with a snarky voice "and what sauce" we get to the window and she's being nice for a second and then asks us what order we had, so we told her and her WHOLE attitude changed. she started moving slower and once she handed us our order she closed the window and just stared at us and slammed her hands down because we checked our food to make sure everything was in there. read more

The service is horrible no greeting... it took about 45 mins which is ridiculous... we ordered chili cheese fries and received fries and nacho cheese separately with no chili. Like what? They weren't rude or anything but there is definitely needs to be work done here. read more

Stopped by for lunch and had a hankering for a chocolate milk shake as well. Ordered the Frisco Melt combo. What a disappointment. I used to love the melt, what was served to me certainly looked melted, but by no means anything like the melts of old. It was not served on sourdough bread, or sliced, there appeared to be just one patty, and could not tell what type of cheese was used. The sauce was liberally applied to just one side, and was just a melted, greasy mess. The fries were just as bad, because they were extra greasy with so much salt, they could not be eaten without worrying about a visit to the ER. So why the two stars? The chocolate shake was sooooo good. Sorry to see this happening to Steak and Shake, they used to be really good. read more

Worst place ever, placed an order for 4 milkshakes and were told to move forward and wait. 4 cars behind us got milkshakes while we continued to wait for another 20 mins. We were told they got theirs because they only had one or two milkshakes and we had 4 so they served them first. Last I checked it's first come first served apparently not here. When they finally came out the milkshakes had stuff all over them and finger prints (During Covid-19) and cream dripping down the sides. Completely ridiculous. read more

If I could give a 0 star I honestly would. I haven't had any problems with this place before but I would not recommend it. Food was boring, service was aweful: Walked into this restraunt and was seated immediately. Went back to the restroom area and there was a weird smell maybe from the cleaner they use but it was unpleasant. Came back to my seat and we waited 15 mins before having to flag down someone to take our order (there were only 3 other tables seated). It was almost if we were not here. The server was speaking to other tables but would literally walk past ours. Food sat in the window for many minutes before the server grabbed it and brought it to us, it was the wrong burger. Food was pretty bland. Wasn't impressed and probably won't be back to a steak and shake for awhile. read more
