Lobster rolls

Captain D's is one of my fave places to eat, but they are dead wrong on that new lobster roll. It was just 2 scoops of generic fake lobster, looked nothing like the photo.

Fish battered kids meal! Just enough food

IMO Captain D's has the best kids meal (and the $2.49 coupon they always offer in the mailbox only adds glitter to the party) I get the one that comes with 1 piece of battered fish, two sides a drink and a cookie. It's always been fresh and hot, they have yet to forget my sauces (and that's crucial) and they have yet to give me bad customer service. I don't do fast food a whole lot but this is one of the places that I can eat without getting sick. Never a hit and miss, and very consistent no matter what time I drive thru!

This is the catfish....look at this foolishness...i was mad asf

Update! I followed the instructions on what to regarding my bad experience and I missed the call of the manager because I didn't hear the phone ring. I was going to return the call once I got home but I didn't know who to call back because she DIDN'T LEAVE HER NAME ON THE VOICEMAIL!! However I am very impressed that someone did reach out to me to resolve my issue. Thank you

Date night with my Loves ( husband ) Captain D's hit the spot. Our order was fresh, the customer service from the manager to the cashier was excellent. It was clean and they were playing my Jam. It was GREAT

Lobster roll.

Imitation lobster I expected but the roll was old, dry and hard. Only a few sprigs of lettuce. However, the fish sandwich was still good. Stick to that.

Although I'm not a fan of Captain D's, everyone on my Facebook friends list have been raving over the newest menu item: fried oysters. Surpringly they were really good and fried to perfection! Try them out and let me know what you think.... I ate a few before snapping the picture.

Yummy Captain D's and I'm hungry for Halloween just like Dave is LOL

Loving the lobster, fish, and shrimp with two regular sides deal this week for only $4.99. Now you really can't beat that.

There were roughly 15 people at the party and she kept the food and drinks coming all night with a friendly smile. I started with the guava gimlet made with Wheatley Vodka, guava, pineapple, simple and lime. It was sweet and refreshing. We were served a few appetizers including creamy artichoke dip served with homemade chips which were tasty. My friend and I ordered the charcuterie board which hit the spot! You could top the meat cheeses and sauces on to either homemade crackers or French bread. I highly recommend the board if you are looking for something light.

Alright Jacksonville, Whiskey Cake did NOT disappoint!…read more First things first, if you're visiting on a weekend, MAKE A RESERVATION! This place gets busy! Luckily, we were waiting for someone in our party, so the wait wasn't too bad. Now the FOOD? Absolutely AMAZING! Everything from the chicken and waffles to the sandwiches, breakfast plates, and sweet treats was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The drinks were refreshing, service was excellent, and even the bathrooms were spotless! The restaurant itself has a really cool, rustic atmosphere. My only two minor complaints were the seating and noise. If your party is larger than 5-6 people, you may end up sharing a high-top table with another group, separated by a small divider. We also got seated toward the back near a group that was EXTREMELY loud. Listen, I'm all for having a good time, but WHEW, they were enjoying themselves enough for everybody! Outside of those two things, I really enjoyed the experience! Great food, attentive service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Those minor seating issues are the only reason I'm giving it a 4.5 instead of a perfect 5. We'll absolutely be back because brunch was fantastic, but now I need to see what that DINNER menu is talking about! Shoutout to our amazing server Stephanie as well, oh guys this place takes tap to pay !!

When we walked in, we saw a huge table of senior citizens, maybe about 20-30! We decided to stay. There was only one Bartender and one Waitress. The place was packed. We sat by the window seats-that was all that was left to sit at. The Waitress was very attentive(even though she was slammed). Today's special was shrimp baskets. Shrimp could be cooked three ways. I chose fried w/onion rings(fresh-not frozen rings) & and a 50/50 tea. My meal was delicious. Laura had blackened shrimp w/broccoli. We both enjoyed our meals and had a great conversation. I had $40.00 cash on me and Laura had a card to treat me, but the internet and card machine had just gone down. So I paid for the meal and tip. Laura Cash App'd me $40.00. Pros:big place with a very friendly atmosphere. Great service and food. Cons:it was out of their control that the machine went down. Recommend:Yes

Arrival was effortless, as the parking options outside the venue are remarkably convenient. Stepping inside, I was immediately struck by the pristine cleanliness of both the interior and exterior spaces. The decor is wonderfully stylish, featuring a lovely variety of private seating options that set a warm, serene, and sophisticated atmosphere. The service was top-tier from start to finish. My server, Patrick, was extraordinarily gracious, polite, and attentive, ensuring every detail of the evening was handled with complete care. To begin, I ordered the Dayspring Martini, which was expertly mixed, brilliantly balanced, and utterly refreshing. For my main course, I selected the house-made pasta. When it arrived, it was an absolute culinary triumph cooked to absolute perfection, rich with authentic flavor, and deeply satisfying. Between the spotless ambiance, chic interior design, divine cuisine, and Patrick's stellar hospitality, Town Hall earns full marks from me. A thoroughly marvelous experience I shall most certainly be returning

Right away our server greeted us and answered all our questions about the menu. I was having trouble deciding on a Sauvignon Blanc and he brought me some samples to choose from. For my entree I went with the Seared Scallops. I went with the larger order of and I'm glad because the they were not as large as we thought. They were good, but I was expecting them to be not as chewy as they were. We ended a brownie that had popcorn on it. We really wanted the cheesecake, but they were out. The brownie was good just the popcorn may throw you off if texture is important to you. It was warm and gooey yummy. Overall a wonderful spot to visit and they also have patio seating.

They're located at 1529 University Blvd North, so not all that far from us, which is great. This review originally appeared in the Jacksonville Fun, Eats & Drinks Facebook group. We stopped in here once before, many years ago. The reason for only stopping in once was because they allowed smoking, which I can deal with to an extent but it was like walking into a wall of smoke back then. I saw on their IG account that they've made a bunch of improvements both to the bar itself and the menu. So I figured we'd give try again. I'll get this part out of the way early: they're still a smoking bar BUT our experience today was FAR different than it was a few years ago. I'd read about how they installed a bunch of new filters and so on. So I thought "if nothing else, we'll walk in with good intentions. If a wall of smoke hits us, we'll make a u-turn and go elsewhere". I was happy when we got there and there was no smoke wall. There was faint smell of smoke but it wasn't bad at all. So whatever they did / are doing is working IMO. I don't know if they had food back when we stopped by years ago but I can tell you they have great burgers now. They had a deal going today where all the burgers were buy one, get one half off. We started with Jalapeño Poppers, then I picked the Bagger (mushroom & swiss) burger with tots and my wife chose the Dyna (the standard cheeseburger) with waffle fries. The poppers were standard but good. The bartender suggested the Sweet Chili sauce to go with it. Sweet Chili sauce isn't my thing but it's definitely my wife's thing. She said "I would eat this with a spoon" lol. So for her, the sauce elevated the poppers to above standard. The burgers were pretty great, in both of our opinions! I'm a pretty slow eater for one reason or another and my wife pointed out that she's never seen my eat a burger as fast as I ate that one. So I'd say that's my taste buds telling me I thought it was great. I judge my wife's thoughts on burgers by how many times she tells me she likes it with her mouth full while eating it. That happened about 4 times today lol. We (she) had fun with bingo while we were there even though she didn't hit a bingo. She came close a few times and had fun, which was the distraction we were looking for. The bartender and cook are both worth a mention in this post. Jen was the bartender but she was really all over the place, taking care of the people at the bar along with us and others at tables. She was really nice while doing that, too. Tammy was the cook. We met her because she came out to ask how the burgers were and really seemed to care about the feedback and the fact that people enjoy what she's making. I'm glad we stopped by again. As I said, I totally understand how/why a place that allows smoking isn't for many folks. That's why I'm dropping 4 stars instead of 5. However, my wife went from saying "well I guess we'll never go in there again" several years ago to saying things like "the next time we come here" during today's visit. So if you can tolerate a low amount like her, you may want to try stopping in to see what you think.

Okayyyy Stonewood, I SEE YOU!…read more Let me start by saying this restaurant easily made my TOP 3 dining experiences in Jacksonville this year! And honestly, it might be one of my favorites EVER here. We ordered a little bit of everything, and when I tell you there wasn't a single disappointment on that table?! We started with the crab dip and buffalo shrimp with blue cheese. Both were SO GOOD! The crab dip was creamy and flavorful, and those buffalo shrimp?! Definitely an appetizer I'd order again! For our entrées, we had the creamy chicken pasta and chicken served with mashed potatoes and greens. The pasta was absolutely delicious! Everything came together so well, and the chicken entrée was just as satisfying. You know the food is good when everybody at the table is enjoying their plate! And because we clearly weren't full enough, we ordered dessert! It was a warm fruit cobbler-style dessert topped with vanilla ice cream, and it was the perfect way to finish our meal. Now, let's not forget the DRINKS! Because those were hitting too! What really made this experience stand out was that the food, drinks, AND service were all amazing. The staff was great, and the entire experience was enjoyable from beginning to end. I love trying restaurants around Jacksonville, and it's not every day that a place impresses me across the board like this. THE VERDICT: ABSOLUTELY A YAY! Stonewood understood the assignment! Whether you're planning a date night, going out with friends, or just want a GOOD meal, I'd definitely recommend giving them a try. 10/10 experience for me, and I WILL be back!

The menu is sprinkled with more than a sufficient variety of options to satisfy even the most selective of palates! They even offer a seasonal menu that certainly keeps you coming back for more. We enjoy sitting in the bar so we can enjoy the strategically scattered big screen TVs that allows everyone an unobstructed view of the current live sporting event of the day. You may choose to "belly up" to the bar for a cold drink of your choice or sit in one of the many roomy booths that outline the large bar. The restaurant also has a large dinning area away from the bar that supports a slightly quieter atmosphere that stills encourages a comfortable dining experience. We go out to dinner to enjoy our evening away from home and appreciate that the servers are very attentive; yet, they always are right there when you want them to be. Otherwise, they are inconspicuously occupied elsewhere so you and your guests can talk and simply enjoy an uninterrupted delicious meal with friends and family! Good food, good drinks equals a good time!
