We went in to order, but the guy behind the counter kept wiping his nose with his gloved hand!! We left mid order because it was so disgusting. You really shouldn't come to work in food service sick, but you especially shouldn't wipe your nose on your gloves. Please do better whataburger. read more

The Hubs and I stopped thru Whataburger to try out their Patty Melt for the 1st time. It was tasty, but kinda on the salty side. I had the classic Whataburger cheeseburger with everything on it. For a fast food burger place it's pretty good, yes you have to wait in the drive thru a long time ( 15-20 min) would not recommend if you are in a hurry, but once you get the burger it's hardy and tasty! Fries were nothing special. Don't forget to add cheese to your burger! :) read more

Nov 24, 2025. This is the 2nd time Eric has made my burger at 10600 San Jose Blvd and if I had my choice, I'd like him to make it every time going forward. My previous visits were OK but Eric definitely makes me want to return. His burger making skills remind me of a Burger King whopper but without the mayo. He added my extra lettuce and extra tomatoes just as I requested on my order when some tend to overlook or ignore. A BIG shout out to Eric. Came here with my son after a meeting in the late evening. There was a decent line at the drive-thru so we decided to try our luck inside and take a break. The atmosphere inside was welcoming, with a clean and well-maintained dining area. Brett was running the inside register and was very professional when we placed our order. Whomever manages this location does a piss poor job. Need to train employees on proper customer service. I ordered breakfast this morning and there shouldn't be employees standing outside in front of the menu cleaning it or whatever.... when I pulled up, it was extremely awkward for me to place my order with another human being in my face. And the girl that took my order spoke so fast like the energizer bunny I had to ask her what she said three times! SPEAK CLEARLY AND PROFESSIONALLY. They have good burgers but the breakfast is quite mediocre. read more

My husband picked us up two burgers and a fry after about two weeks after this Whataburger on San Jose opened and brought them home. I thought the burger had a big meat Patty but the lettuce was yellow...over all not real impressed. Weeks later we received a coupon in mail buy one with fries and drink, get another burger free so he wanted to try again. Now this burger was so thin it was like a joke, fries were ok. I asked if he ordered the same burger and he said yes...but the meat Pattie's were definitely different; I can't explain but I have no idea why people say these burgers are so great! read more

We finally tried the new location in Mandarin. Food was hot and tasted great. Employees were nice. BUT... the inside of the restaurant was dirty. And with employees standing around doing nothing since there were only 2 people in the dining room, that is unacceptable. There was no soap in the women's bathroom and when I asked about it I was told "the soap container keeps falling off the wall" ok so then go over to Publix next door and buy a $1 hand soap. So this means when the employees are using the restroom they arent washing their hands! The owner of this establishment clearly does not care given all the other reviews with zero responses. read more

This place is super slow. I must have waited 40 minutes for them to prepare food. I could see a lot of people milling around and didn't appear to be doing anything. The food was good. I have never had Whataburger before and the burger was good. I also had a banana pudding milkshake, which I thought was good. The reason I rated them a single star is how slow they were. I cannot speak to the ambiance since I did not go inside the building. read more

Went to the san jose, Mandarin location today in the drive thru. From the time I placed my order to the time I received my order, it was 25 minutes. When I opened my bag to get my burger and fries, they were stone cold. I did not go inside to complain at the fear of it being another 25 min before I could complain. I understand that good help is hard to find ,but this was ridiculous. There was a police officer behind me in line shaking his head in disbelief as well. Unfortunately, my vision and expectations of a good experience was blown up. I will not be back. It's most definitely not fast food at its finest. Good luck with staying in business with service and food I would not feed to a dog read more

wanted to try the new Whataburger at Hartley and San Jose, so we ordered 2 wwhataburger combos with shakes. The buns were stale. The meat didn't really taste like hamburger and wasn't good. They put way too many onions on our burgers, and made it even tougher to eat what should have been a good burger. The shakes were massive, but too thick, so drinking through a straw (that wasn't included) was impossible. However, the fries were okay. we don't plan to return to this Whataburger, but I do hope they learn how to make an edible burger. read more

I love Whataburger but this location has had 3 chances and every single time it's taken 30+ minutes for food even when they are objectively not busy at all. This is the biggest problem, going for fast food should be fast. Any more than 15 min is a huge problem. The food this last time was cold and the fries (which used to be my favorite of anywhere) were cold and stale and too dark (old oil?). I hope they get it together because they are going to go under quick.. such a disappointment. I really don't get what the problem is. read more

Don't waste your time, waited over 20 mins after waiting 5 mins for them to figure out how to use their point of sale. Watched them take 4 other family's meals and they get their food before we ever got ours. Had to tell them what our order was twice. Just blatant incompetence blanketed by a bland "sorry". Almost all surfaces in the dining are and bathroom area are filthy. Trashes overflowing, food and garbage on counters and floors. Sorry isn't just an apology at this location, it's the entire state of things. read more

Great burger size and I felt the pricing and portions were fair. Only downside is the milkshake machine was down and I really wanted one Easy to find and big lot for parking. I would love to come back and try a milkshake, their lettuce bun, or the gluten free bun option.

When we walked in, we saw a huge table of senior citizens, maybe about 20-30! We decided to stay. There was only one Bartender and one Waitress. The place was packed. We sat by the window seats-that was all that was left to sit at. The Waitress was very attentive(even though she was slammed). Today's special was shrimp baskets. Shrimp could be cooked three ways. I chose fried w/onion rings(fresh-not frozen rings) & and a 50/50 tea. My meal was delicious. Laura had blackened shrimp w/broccoli. We both enjoyed our meals and had a great conversation. I had $40.00 cash on me and Laura had a card to treat me, but the internet and card machine had just gone down. So I paid for the meal and tip. Laura Cash App'd me $40.00. Pros:big place with a very friendly atmosphere. Great service and food. Cons:it was out of their control that the machine went down. Recommend:Yes

You can tell they keep it simple but focus on quality. Also gave their new smoked wings a shot and was impressed. Great flavor with that nice smoky touch--definitely worth ordering alongside the burger. Finished it off with a strawberry shake and that was the perfect move. Creamy, sweet, and honestly one of the highlights of the meal. Overall, really good food and a spot I'd come back to. Just shy of perfect, but definitely hits the mark.

The smoked chicken sandwich was sooooo puny! Not worth $12!!!! The best thing we ordered was the fries... they were crispy on outside, fluffy on inside fries with seasoning like Arbys curly fries. Not worth a trip back just for fries though.
