Don't be like me. For some reason, as I have aged, I go to restaurants and instead of ordering their specialty, I order something obscure. Why did I order a pot roast sandwich for over $7.00? Meanwhile, the Mr. ordered a bacon cheese butterburger that looked delish. My sandwich was like taking white bread and slapping some dry pot roast on it. The horseradish sauce was tasty, but it needed a boatload, not the one pak I was given(and some juice) The fries were hot and fantastic, especially dipped in horseradish sauce. ;). I don't know what kind of wizardry they're doing in that kitchen, but the moment I bit into that ButterBurger, I heard the faint sound of angels singing and my childhood trauma got 3% lighter. Let's talk about the cheese curds. Are they just fried cheese? Technically, yes. But spiritually? They're tiny golden love letters from Wisconsin itself. I would walk through a snowstorm uphill (both ways) for those things. And the custard? Let me tell you--if ice cream and happiness had a baby, and that baby majored in smoothness and flavor, it would be Culver's frozen custard. I'll be honest, I never had any interest in going to Culver's. That is until I found out they're known for their frozen custard! The menu has a lot of options. You can even create your own shake by choosing their different toppings. When I went through the drive thru, I decided to go for a classic dessert and ordered a root beer float and a side of cheese curds. I can't think of the last time I had a rootbeer float. It definitely took care of my sweets craving, though it could've used a little more ice cream. However, it was made 1.5 hours earlier at the original time. I have spoken with someone about this. She apologized and said she'd let staff know not to serve old food. I normally like Culver's, so was happy to see this location when traveling. The staff is always so friendly. I tried the single sourdough melt, as I love sourdough bread. The food came to our table quickly and was hot and fresh. The burger was so thin, I could barely taste any beef. They didn't put the burger in the middle of the bread, so half had more meat than the other. I couldn't tell at all that the bread was sourdough. Super disappointing. read more

Ordered two single butterburgers, onion rings and extra crispy fries for lunch today. Placed my order on line for pick up. Text said the order would be ready at 12:26. It wasn't, but that's ok, who would mind waiting for hot fresh food, especially since it was lunch time and there were lots of cars waiting for their orders. My order finally came out and I went home, two miles away. Everything in my order was ice cold, including the special order burger. The onion rings tasted like they had been fried in old grease as well as being cold. This was the most disgusting food I've ever gotten from this restaurant. The customer service is ALWAYS EXCELLENT, 5 stars and an A+ here at Culver's-Middleburg location! During this pandemic, they are working diligently to keep the dining room clean and sanitized. We felt so comfortable eating inside. Tables were marked where to sit and not to sit. Staff was very helpful while still maintaining social distancing practices. I admit we are Culver's regulars. We travel from St. John's County to Middleburg, a 30 mile trip but so worth it. We are very excited Culver's is coming soon to County Road 210 which will be a convenient 8 miles away. On our recent visit this past Saturday, we redeemed a coupon for a "Buy one, Get one free value basket" just for signing up online to be part of the Culver's club. We each chose our favorite- Atlantic Cod Fish sandwich with fries and onion rings. Huge thick piece of fish with light breading on a soft bun with tartar sauce. Crinkle fries, cod fish sandwich and onion rings were hot and fresh, not greasy or dripping with oil. My husband always asks for extra tartar sauce to make his extra special. We did try the deluxe burger on another visit. I chose mine to be cooked "well done" as requested. I am just a little picky. Lol. It was very flavorful and delicious. Soft bun with 2 burger patties, also not greasy with fresh ingredients! Definitely a generous size burger that I actually shared mine. BIG THANK YOU to Ruby who was our table server. She is a real sweetheart as we had conversation of the new Culver's coming to St. Augustine and St. John's County on County Road 210 as well as taking care of the little requests. However, I must say everyone at this location has always been super friendly and helpful. We are big advocates for Culver's being the "Best Fast Food" restaurant around. Yes, yes, yes. If Culver's were any closer to where I live, it would be dangerous! You see, I was a Culver's regular when I lived in MN. I'd go multiple times a week for the custard flavor of the day and the snack paks. I was so disappointed with the Daytona store and I vowed never to return. After that, I assumed that I'd have to wait to visit MN to indulge in probably my favorite food chain. But now, if I want to make a little drive, I have this store. I visited during the covid-19 pandemic so the "flavor of the day" was drive-thru...get it? Haha. But seriously, I placed my order for a single cheese butterburger snack pak and pulled into the line to wait. When my food was ready the lady running it to my car asked if she could review my order, which I appreciated as it was wrong. There was a lot of confusion about the order due to the eventual discovery of the fact that they no longer sell snack paks. Say what?! Oh well. I ended up with a single cheese basket. The burger was fine. It didn't give me the fireworks that I was hoping for but it was close enough to what I remembered. The fries were a little luke warm but they did the trick. Shockingly, I skipped one of the best things about Culver's - the custard - as the flavor of the day was caramel turtle, which isn't one of my flavors of choice. This Culver's location has been open for about 2 years. It is always Very clean and the staff is Very courteous. I like their butter burgers (especially the Wisconsin Swiss melt) & cheese curds. My son loves their pretzel bites. While their menu is similar to other fast casual burger joints, the flavorings are just different enough to keep Culver's separate from the rest. A lot of our stops are just for frozen custard :P My son enjoys their sundaes & I like the concretes (same thing as a sundae, just blended together Blizzard-style). That means you local Jax peeps do not have to travel far to Daytona, Gainesville or Orlando. It's right here in our backyard. The employees are so very friendly. The place is always clean. The butter burger deluxe is my favorite. Fresh ingredients and nice and hot! I love that they have crinkle fries and not those thin shoestring fries Lol. The cheese curds are sooo good! Especially when they come out fresh and you get that cheese pull. You gotta eat them when they're hot. I'm always too full to get a sweet treat after I'm done eating, but they have quite a few options. The heath bar concrete mixer is my favorite. Ordered the butter burger and onion rings. This has absolutely been the worst food I've had. The onion rings tasted like someone put salt all over them and they were greasy. The burger tasted like it had been sitting out it was dry and the toppings I ordered were dried out also. I don't see any value in the reviews posted stating that the food was good. The service was good and the order was accurate but as far as coming back ...I will not be returning. The management team wanted me to contact them at contact Culver's.com. Not sure why? On the rare occasion that calls for fast food, it's always a relief to find a Culver's. Their "butter burger" is seriously one of the best fast food burgers on the market. Great tasting patties, good bun, fresh onions, lettuce & tomatoes. Awesome crinkle fries. If you're not in the mood for a burger, their fish & chips are a solid option. In keeping with their Wisconsin roots, they offer some damned good cheese curds, too. As if that's not enough to get you in, trust me when I say that their frozen custard shakes and sundaes are hands down, better than any ice cream you've ever eaten at any other fast food eatery. This is one of our favorite restaurant chains. For a long time we have wished for one in Jacksonville! Anytime we came across one somewhere else, we would have to stop! So, when one opened all the way on the other side of time from us (40 minute drive), we of course made a date out of it!! The burgers are so good! Get a butter burger, you will not be disappointed! The fries are good. One of staples that makes them unique is their cheese curds. I do wish they had a dipping sauce for these things, but I'll eat them anyways. The best is the concrete mixers! This is frozen custard, not ice cream! It's so much better! They always have chocolate and vanilla, and they have a flavor of the day! The service is always fast at these places.
