About half of the large salad with gyro meat and feta

So happy the Stavi's food truck was at Burnt Barrel. The large salad with gyro meat and feta was really big, full of veggies, and Greek dressing. If I wasn't so hungry and it wasn't so delicious, I probably could not have finished it. I had a bite of the Greek Freak on a sub roll, it was also very good - the tzatziki sauce is awesome. We did not go with the recommend focaccia bread, so they gave us some to try. Yep, we will get the focaccia next time for sure.

Wow! Let me start with, I love food trucks! I have seen Stavis at the brewery before and I don't know why I've not made my way there to try their food. Tonight, I was craving some food truck takeout and checked out Deep Rivers lineup then scoured Stavis menu and I was sold! We ordered the GI Joe sandwich on Texas toast, GI Joe fries (they come with this stellar Chipotle ranch...yumm!) We also grab a side of pasta salad and the Greek freak sandwich on Texas toast. I knew it would be good, and definitely after tasting everything, I knew we made a solid choice! We only had to wait 7-10 min and our food was ready! I was so impressed and I know we'll definitely be eating from their truck again soon!

Well okay. The sandwiches from this food truck are enough for two; that is, they would be if I could stop eating one in time to make sure there's a second meal. Nice people. Great sandwiches. My first visit to this food truck by chance happened to be on their first day of service. It's probably good they mentioned that to all of us waiting for our food because I would have panned them for the extraordinarily long wait -- even though the sandwich I had was fantastically good and not quite what I ordered. They were behind. The orders got mixed up and my Greek Freak texas toast sandwich came on the more expensive focaccia. I think I made them feel guilty for making me wait for over 30 minutes, so they gave me part of an order they made by mistake for someone else. The gyro meat, greek sausage, feta, and tzatziki sauce was delicious and, on the focaccia, it was near perfect. I thought the size was a mistake, though. By the next visit, they had things flowing smoothly. The Cleopatra with its mozzarella, basil pesto, tomato and hummus is a taste bud treat. I rather liked it with the texas toast because I could remove the bread and have an equally filling salad of a sort. That wouldn't have worked with the focaccia because that bread was just too good to forego. With this sandwich, I realize the portion size is not an accident. I think I need to wear a disguise if I keep coming to this food truck because even with a few weeks between visits, they recognized me and again apologized for the wait on my first visit. That's some amazing customer service.

Today's special: Philly Gyro Sandwich on focaccia - gyro meat, grilled green peppers/onions, provolone, homemade chipotle ranch

Fantastic lunch from Stavi's! I got the Philly Gyro Sandwich special plus GI Joe loaded fries. The focaccia was great! Very creative and innovative items! The sandwich and fries were a little decadent but we need something special during "house arrest"! The special menu said the sandwich had chipotle ranch but it seemed more like plain ranch to me. Still darn tasty! Unlike some trucks, Stavi's serves their entire menu from their website PLUS specials and I love that! I dislike going to a truck with an idea of what I want only to discover they're not doing the item on that day! We are so fortunate to have such great trucks in the area! I really appreciate that they're coming to communities lately! I might have to start skipping some that try to flirt with me in the coming days!

Stavi's served up lunch at work today and their sandwiches are delicious. I could not decide between the Greek Freak on homemade foccacia or the sub roll and the gentleman in the truck said to go with the foccacia. He was right because the homemade bread was perfect with all the toppings. The Greek Freak is served with gyros meat, lots and lots of tzaziki, and Stavi's all the way includes lettuce, tomato, Greek Pepperoncini, and Greek Salad Dressing. The sandwich was hearty and was almost like two sandwiches in one. It was full of flavor and I would definitely get this sandwich again. My colleagues raved about the Italian stallion and they offer vegetarian options as well. The prices are on point for a food truck and each sandwich comes out to about $10. They also have fries as a side or loaded fries with toppings. I was able to pay with my credit card and the truck is based out of Wake Forest. You can track them down on their online schedule and go to breweries such as Lonerider and corporations for lunch. They currently don't participate in any food truck rodeos.

My experience of this food truck was average. I asked for a grilled Cleopatra sandwich and as you can see in the picture it was not exactly well grilled so that was sort of a hiccup for me. Apart from that the food was fine. I tried the Cleopatra with Texas toast and pasta salad, and I would recommend you to try both of them.

I found this place on Yelp and had to give it a try. Tiny place with almost no seating to eat in…read morebut we took it to go. The staff are all amazing... super helpful explaining the menu and favorite options highlighted. The food was amazing. I highly recommend everything we had. It was my first experience having collard greens so I have nothing to compare them to but WOW they were delicious. The corn bread was over the top yummy too. We had sausage and rib tips too. We will definitely be back. Yummy and again the staff/owner were delightful.

Once again, I am always willing to give restaurants a chance to prove me wrong... and once again,…read morethey have failed. My motto is simple: if you can't see the smoker and smell the smoke, the BBQ is going to be bad. This place is no different. My family ordered the pork belly burnt ends, pork ribs, chicken Philly, and smoked mac and cheese. Let's start easy--the mac and cheese. My grandparents used more salt and pepper in their mac and cheese than this place did. The only ingredients seemed to be noodles and cheese. What happened to flavor? Spices? Maybe some paprika, cayenne pepper... jeez, something. However, as a bit of a warning sign, the mac and cheese had more wood smoke flavor than anything else they served. Next, the ribs. Some people believe in the 3-2-1 method--I'm not a fan, but it can work. These people must believe in the 1-2-3 method: 1 hour smoked on a Traeger, 2 hours wrapped, and 3 hours cooked on high heat in the oven uncovered. That's the only way I can figure out how you end up with jerky-dry ribs. Not only were they dry, they didn't have any flavor. The chicken Philly was dry--my wife hated it. The pork belly burnt ends actually looked great--nice cube size, good presentation--but biting into them was a different story. Chewy, bland, and dry. I honestly don't know how you manage to do that with pork belly. Really disappointing experience overall.
