    Love the hotel staff is nice they have a restaurant on site ,CVS and liquor store right next door. The deluxe suite is very spacious, has a nice dining room, has a nice size kitchen w stove, forks, knives, drinking glasses, pots, toaster, microwave also a keriq machine The living room has a nice desk table, beautiful pictures on the wall. I like the bathroom with the mirrors on the wall and glass shelf. The body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and soap are all from Bath and Body Works. The bedroom has a king-size bed. The sheets are so soft the bed is so comfortable . The hotel is very clean across the street is the bus stop, the restaurant Tonic is an 8 minute walk. You can also walk to the White House that's a 10-minute walk.

    Room 630 reeks of mold and mildew. The stench gave us headaches, and caused us to cough and sneeze. We took pictures and showed them to the front desk, she insisted that there was nothing wrong with the room and was rude to us like she was doing us a favor after moving us to a different room. In addition, regarding location, although close by to transportation and sights, there were many homeless people camped out nearby.

    PROS: this is a nice hotel to stay in that's not too far from the memorials and monuments. The rates are affordable, they have a gym, many rooms, and most of the staff is very nice. Patrick helped me at check in very well CONS: they have two tiny parking lots that only hold 12 cars, meanwhile it costs $48 to park there. Miguel was also a bit rude on the phone when I called in before check in. Breakfast must be bought, and is not complimentary OVERALL: it's a good hotel to stay at it. It's not my first option but I'm confident you're not going to be upset with it

    Stayed here 3 nights on our first-ever trip to Washington DC. It is an older building and has a nostalgic feel with the old-style awning extenting from the door to the street and a "bell hop". Electrical and plumbing are up-to-date. Room has most of the standard amenities and lots of closet space. Posatives: Friendly and helpful Staff Just two blocks up from the National Mall Very clean, quiet. Room included a hot pot separate from the coffe maker. Reasonably priced for the area. Cafe in the Hotel. Negatives: No refrigerator in the room. Noisy toilet Very limited parking (extra cost) Hotel cafe is a little pricey. Other: Just across the street from GW University. Conclution and Recommendations: Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again but would explore other options too. Great place to stay for the price.

    I wouldn't stay here again. Getting from the north building to the south building (the hotel has 2 parts, and I was with a large group who was attending a conference together) by way of an outdoor parking lot, in a locked courtyard that felt creepy, doesn't feel safe as a woman alone. But the biggest problem I have with this is the HVAC system. The entire hotel is either on air conditioning or heat. You have no choice -- that is controlled by management and is changed seasonally. I visited at the end of September, and I found the night and early morning to be chilly. I could not turn on the heat in my room, however, because there was no heat on in the hotel. Only the AC was on for the hotel at that time. That is, I could have the air conditioning off or on, but heat was not an option. Another problem I have with this hotel is that the rooms have only a deadbolt to lock them. I strongly prefer a room that also has a chain (or another type of lock) on the inside of the door. Again, I say this particularly as a woman traveling alone. The bathroom was tiny, but that was fine because I was staying there alone. The room was really more of a suite because it had a dressing area outside of the bathroom, a nicely-sized room, and a full kitchen. The room/suite was clean. The hotel has adorable mail slots on every floor near the elevators. It was really fun to post a letter!

    A bit tired looking on the outside but a very clean warm refurbished super comfortable and affordable gleaming hotel. Right across from the State Dept. which often sends its official visitors to stay. Strong staff including doorman. Unintentionally retro kitchens in rooms. It's like an extended stay 1967. Great new carpets and gleaming tile bathrooms. (The CVS next door is dingy but super convenient to stock up that hotel big fridge. Liquor store out the door as well.) Great daily laundry service if needed. A strange mirrored identical image lobby on different sides of same block can absolutely throw you when dropped off by a cab. Huh? A maze to get to other side. Sometimes same doorman continues the illusion. Clean. Warm. Safe. Solid. Well serviced. Big rooms. A short walk below GW campus. The friendly uniformed staff and guests sometimes all seem born overseas and all striving for the American Dream.

    So I have noticed that a lot of the average reviews are pertaining to the area around the hotel and the lack of things that are open during the weekend. Here is the thing this hotel is located right across the street...so to speak.....from the State Department and is also near various other Federal Buildings. Now with that being said in most U.S. Cities things being closed and pretty boring neighborhoods are pretty much the norm and I know because I have to been to plenty of big cities and witnessed the same problem. None of these things have anything to do with the State Plaza Hotel. This hotel has a great charm and ambiance to it and while it is old the renovations that have been made to the place has not taken away that charm. I love the incandescent light bulbs in the bathroom...the old school gas stove in the kitchen...and the very simple furnishings located throughout the room. The bed is very comfortable and the room itself is plenty big enough to move around. If I had one complaint it was the lip that leads from the kitchen to the main room area. It is a little dangerous if you don't watch your step...you could stub your toe and hurt yourself if you're not careful. Everything else was just fine which included the WiFi, and the heat was awesome considering it was cold in DC...LOL!!! NOTE: There is a bus stop about 30 seconds across the street from the hotel and I highly recommend taking public transportation to get around the area. It is very inexpensive with the Metro Bus only cost 2 bucks and the Circulator Bus is only a buck. The best part is you can transfer to either bus for free. The Metro Train is a great option as well but it is a bit of walk to the two major train stations near the hotel unless you are in your twenties and in good shape.....LOL!!!!! This area does have a 24hr CVS next door for pretty much anything you need and there is a homeless tent city so to speak across from the Hotel but they pretty much keep to themselves and don't bother people at all. I personally can't wait to go back and again I highly recommend staying at this hotel if your visiting the DC area. Eat, Drink, and be Merry, my Friends!!!!!

    It's okay for the area. If you have a car and can stay elsewhere, stay in Georgetown. The homeless camp across the street will keep you from venturing out on foot. There is nothing nearby that is open on the weekends. Coffee shop, donut, nothing. The elevator is original and you take your life if your hand when you ride it. You have to haul yourself and bags up a dozen steep steps to get to the elevator from the lobby. The rooms are clean, but again, rundown. Wi-fi is very spotty. Rooms are spacious but the TV is fairly small for being across the room. Most of the cable stations were fuzzy, and we had to stream GoT just to watch it. Only a couple local channels came in clearly. They spent time and money to update the lobby but it didn't go further than that. I am not a fan and will remember to look elsewhere.

    Is this the 4 seasons? No it's not fam. But it is a pretty well taken care of , older hotel located near a lot of great stuff in the heart of DC. It was also perfect for this weekend trip for my wedding anniversary and to see Tom segura live at the Warner Theatre (review of that place coming soon. ) this hotel has a great staff who is accommodating and helpful. The parking this visit cost 46$ a day for valet parking. However there seems to be a 24 hour garage right next door with limited space for way less and another parking garage a block or so away. So do your homework. The hotel is located right next to a cvs and a liquor store. Incase you wanna get lit up before going out on the town. As some have mentioned the surrounding area has some usual things you find in metropolitan settings. Like homeless people. They won't bother you if you don't bother them, I promise. The room we got has a full kitchen area which is actually kinda great. Full size fridge which we took full advantage of, US postal service drop boxes on every floor which we actually used. All in all is it a luxury hotel? hell no! But it didn't have a luxury rate either. I think we paid 129 a night or maybe less plus 46$ a night for valet.

    The room is clean and roomy. The decor is updated and carpet is well maintained. Customer service is good as well. Only thing g is they do t allow later checkout ...the bathroom/shower is also clean and contemporary. I have a dinette..full size refrigerator ... microwave, range and dishes if and when you decide to stay for a longer stay.....maybe next time I visit WV definitely will stay again here..don't expect for a view there is none..

That jetted tub was supposed to earn its keep. The room: genuinely beautiful. The technology: aggressively dated. The vibe: a 90s time capsule, complete with missing doorknobs. There was effort here, but it felt like the hotel was holding its breath, afraid any real investment might trigger the next recession. What they got right: The bellhops were fantastic. Warm, personable, fun. Truly the highlight. Most staff we interacted with were polite and willing to help, which made the gaps elsewhere even more confusing. What they got wrong (beyond the dated room and tech): For a hotel that loudly advertises luxury service, the customer experience fell flat. Outside of the arrival bowl of fruit, nothing felt elevated. Night two, we ordered pizza and planned a cozy Home Alone movie night. The technology made streaming impossible. Fine, cable it is. We called the concierge and asked for two plates. Just two. The answer was a flat no. We were told to walk down to the lobby restaurant and see if they might have plates "to spare." I'm sorry, what? The next morning, room service arrived... with someone else's order. It was corrected, but for a luxury hotel, that kind of miss is surprising. Housekeeping came through, but only halfway. The coffee and minibar were never restocked. In a suite. At a luxury hotel. This is table stakes. At 9:30 PM we stopped by the lobby circle bar. It was immediately clear the bartenders did not want to be there. I get it, service work is hard. Still, opening our interaction by warning us about last call at 11 set a strange tone. By 10:00, one bartender disappeared for 45 minutes. No refills. No check-in. No bill. Breaks are important. Coverage is also important, especially when you're selling a premium experience. Beyond the bellhops, much of the staff felt irritated to be present. Front desk to concierge, the energy was less "historic luxury hotel" and more "counting down the minutes." The hotel was also clearly prioritizing weekend tea and brunch revenue, to the point that the historic lobby was clogged with extra tables and largely unusable for actual hotel guests. Bottom line: this was not a luxury experience, and I would not recommend it. I'm only posting this publicly because I reached out directly to hotel management and never received a response. At that point, a review feels necessary.

Too bad stored blankets were unavailable for sleepers wanting more warmth than their traveling companions. We had to make a second request for one. May I also suggest providing more than one bar of mini soap bars. It's such a minuscule cost item but would obviate having to repeatedly move the precious one bar from sink to shower. We found the valet staff particularly helpful especially when navigating awkward arrivals and parking needs of our personal guests. Sean was a prince. He supervised an otherwise complicated set of logistics with competence and gentlemanly grace. Another shout out to the manager ( sou?) of the breakfast dining. We watched him rigorously oversee staff and guests while occasionally stepping in when helpful. His leadership is likely responsible for the professionalism of said staff. This is in direct contrast to the staff of the Willard across the street where we took the first breakfast of our stay. We were dismayed to have to endure extremely loud staff socializing, boisterous laughter and downright flirting. This type of behavior would have been unacceptable at the JWMarriott. This experience alone confirms our future choice of Marriott over Willard for annual DC visits.

The price for a room I guess because of the multiple conventions in the place was excessive. I think for a room, not a suite, it would have ben $750 per night during the week. I thought that was a lot so we used points, and the 1st night they had not held our King Room for us, and despite being our anniversary, we had to sleep in a double room and move the next day. Unfortunately, the double room was quiet, and the King Room had an adjoining door and we heard every little thing from the room next door. I would put this down one point, but the service, staffing and helpful Concierge made this place really nice for us.

From the second we met Asia and Shawnae at the host stand we were made to feel like family! Their warmth, love for the children and willingness to do anything to make their stay enjoyable was so genuine and greatly appreciated! Asia in particular went above in beyond any way she possibly could. She spent time with us, offered suggestions, and left us feeling like we have family here at the Conrad. Cory and Will made great drinks, always smiled, always remembered us and for that we are thankful. At breakfast we had the team of Kevin and Sandra and they also were amazing. Very attentive, did anything they could to make the kids smile, the service was always on point. Crystal at the front desk came up to the room and decorated for our daughters birthday, brought her a gift bag and absolutely made her feel special on her special day! In totality, we came with no expectations and left with every one of them being exceeded! This Conrad is amazing, the best one we've stayed at and honestly a hotel is only as good as the people that make it what it is. For me, the experience was just as special. Corey, the bartender, was exceptional. Each evening, he made sure I had exactly what I wanted, when I wanted it, and engaged in thoughtful, easy conversation that made the space feel welcoming and safe. It wasn't just service--it was connection, and it made a long, tiring trip feel restorative. This hotel doesn't just deliver luxury--it delivers humanity. The staff understands how to read people, how to make guests feel comfortable, and how to create an atmosphere where everyone feels like they belong. I've stayed in many beautiful hotels, but this experience stands apart because of how we were treated as people. Cheapest cocktail is $25 Sparkling starting at $24 Wine $22-35+ I opted for a NA drink that was $14, that was delish. I like that they bring a little snack bowl out complimentary! We ordered fries as well which were delish - I loved the housemade ketchup. We didn't realize this, but at the St. Regis, they do a daily champagne sabering in the lobby EVERY DAY?! It's at 6pm here - don't miss it. Everyone around gathers, and then you get a complimentary flute of champagne! Our service was attentive and very professional. Very high priced, but how fun to enjoy the luxe atmosphere and complimentary elements!

This hotel is an 8 min walk to the White House. We arrived late on a Sunday and they have valet parking ($70/night). You could park yourself in a lot right across the street for only $30 but who knew? The room was small with 1 king bed, desk, ottoman type "chair/stool" BUT! It met our needs. The bathroom was spacious and the water was hot. It had a closet for our coats and a hallway which we utilized for luggage. The free coffee was Godsend and the free breakfast 6am-10am was perfect! Cereal, breads, scrambled and hard boiled eggs, sausage patties, oatmeal, fruit, yogurt, waffles, juice and probably more. They had a lot of of options for even picky eaters. The buffet was clean and well stocked. When we came back from our event, we were harried to check out but the front desk staff was patience and gracious. We were able to sit in the nice lobby, with free wifi, and have a hot coffee. I highly recommend this hotel for its location, amenities and excellent customer service.
