You can sign up for 1 free class with shoes included (otherwise rental shoes are $2). The staff is very nice and attentive and helps you adjust your bike to ensure it is to your height. The instructors are very upbeat and since it's dark inside while you spin it's pretty much a judgment free zone and you can adjust your own resistance if needed. They also have a place to put your water on the bike and always encourage water breaks during the class as well as a towel on the bike so you can towel off as well (you will sweat!) Parking is plentiful! If you're looking for a good workout under one hour I'd recommend coming here. read more

Absolutely love STAR CYCLE Santa Barbara! Such a fun workout with incredible energy that's welcoming for all ages and fitness levels. The instructors are motivating, the classes are engaging, and the overall community of members is so supportive and positive. A great place to move, sweat, and feel connected all at once! read more

StarCycle is our favorite workout stop of the week. The community is amazing, supportive and we truly feel like we are part of something special each time we are in there. The teachers and music are always a vibe and they have childcare with the sweetest girls. The room Is dark so if you're feeling intimidated there is no need to worry, there is no one judging you. First class free, can't afford not to try it out read more

Not my type of spin class, but still a good workout! StarCycle surprisingly is Santa Barbara's only spin studio (no SoulCycle or Cyclebar here yet). I bought the 3 for $39 package and attended a free rockstar ride. I booked my bike for these classes through their website. If you have your own shoes, their bikes are compatible Look Delta cleats, or you can rent shoes for $2, which is what I did. Their classes are more focused on spinning really fast with low resistance. I wish there was more variation with intervals, climbs, and strength work. Bikes don't have meters for RPM or power, so you're really just trying to match the instructor. I prefer having target ranges so I can adjust my resistance accordingly. Depending on the instructor, it can be difficult to hear the instructions over the music, but the music is fun and upbeat! The instructor or welcoming fellow riders can help you set up your bike before class. Towels and weights for the arm workout (bicep curls, presses, lateral raises, pulses, etc.) are provided. Be sure to grab the appropriate weight when you're settling in; I'd go pretty light because you'll definitely feel the burn with those pulses! Each class has lots of optional choreography, including tapbacks, push-ups, and dips, so be ready to be bouncing on the seat and maybe some chafing too. read more

I originally started going to StarCycle because it was one of the few fitness options that offered childcare. Now, I go for so many more reasons. The community, the instructors, the incredible low impact workout, and the guaranteed fun sweat session. Highly recommend!! read more

I threw a bachelorette party for my sister and we decided to do a spin class and I'm so glad we went to Star Cycle! They were so helpful and accommodating, and made our group feel so special. The class was so fun too! Our instructor, Sam, was a blast and brought the energy for us- she even asked us what type of music we like for the class. I highly recommend Star Cycle- thank you for a great time!! read more

I recently moved to Montecito and was a diehard spin junkie back in LA. Didn't think I would find anything that would be the stain, but StarCycle is above and beyond. It's such a hard work out such a great group of teachers and wonderful community. I highly recommend it try it out, you'll get your butt kicked read more

I've always loved spin, but the classes I've taken were the traditional type; just the typical hill climbs and seat rides. So when my girlfriend asked me to try StarCycle with her I was a bit intimidated, because she had compared it to SoulCycle. I had heard how intense the classes were and that was enough to get my heart rate pumping. My first class was with Samatha.. She was so helpful. She got me setup and oriented me with my bike, made sure my settings were perfect for my height, and gave me key points. Wow, what a great first class. I came out so energized and hooked. And I've been back many more times to take her class. Another instructor who needs to be mentioned is Alanni. What a ball of energy. She had us off our seats most of the class and I loved it. She is so magnetic. She's positive and encouraging and WORKED us hard. So happy I decided to come ride with StarCycle. What a great addition to SB. read more

So this morning I went to my very first class here at StarCycle and I have one word for it, "AMAZING"! I love the fact that it's dark inside of the class, it makes you really get into it and feel more confident! The music that they play gets you pumped (even at 7am) TALK ABOUT STARTING YOUR DAY RIGHT!! One of the instructors named Katelyn runs an amazing class, she is sweet, she pushes you and has an upbeat attitude that really keeps you going! If you are looking for a good workout in a fun environment this is the place for you! The location is perfect, ALWAYS PARKING! And the studio itself sells amazing workout gear. And they have water provided. This is my new favorite place to get a good work out in Santa Barbara and I can't wait to be back! read more

Confessions of a spinning amateur: I hate working out and find it hard to stay motivated and not check the time every fifteen minutes. I came to a class due to a recommendation of a friend and it did not disappoint! I've even come back about four or five times and plan on continuing. The instructors are absolutely amazing and motivating! I have no rhythm or coordination but they count out loud and help me find the beat. They are also throwing out motivational quotes, providing jokes and reminding us why we are there. Not to mention the playlists are phenomenal and keep you wanting more. I was even smiling during a last song (and after 45 minutes of working out, that's saying something for me). The classes have all shapes, ages and sizes so no one feels left out. Oh! I forgot to mention we ride in the dark! What!?!? No stress about others looking at me or judgement. We are all there for a purpose and look how we do when we work out (in my case, a hot, uncoordinated mess). Love this place and the confidence it gives me read more

Couldn't find gym. Map app didn't take me to correct address. I was first timer and tried calling to get some direction. Got to class 2 minutes late and they wouldn't let me in. Asked if I could go to next available class and they said only if I paid again. Frustrating experience read more

A great addition to La Cumbre Plaza - convenient location with easy parking. I love their philosophy "you do you" and being in the dark diminished the intimidation factor. Fun music! I have taken 10+ classes and all of the teachers have been excellent. The staff is wonderful and they go above and beyond with customer service. Thank you Kayla, Lara, Dani and team! read more

The most fun you'll have while working out! Instructors lead the classes with supportive kindness and Rock Star coolness. The entire environment is the healthiest self esteem building night club. You get lost in the music and the moves and boom you've completed a full body workout. A fun bonus is the stylish workout clothes that breathe. Cheers to StarCycle. read more

Starcycle is a great addition to Santa Barbara. It is the first spin gym in Sb. The instructors are upbeat, friendly, and motivating! The classes are 45 minutes but you are guaranteed to burn a ton of calories and to get sweaty. Check it out!! read more

I love StarCycle, concept, the workout, the instructors and yes the music. I am so thankful to them for doing what it takes, (moving outsíde) to follow rules of this pandemic) It is no small feat to move bikes outside each day. They are doing this to follow the laws , to provide a safe environment for its customers who so need this for their mental and physical health. And yes they are doing this to survive. For this they need to be applauded. read more

Best place to workout in town, if you can even call it a workout, it's just so fun. Riding to the beat, it's like a dance party on a bike. Not only are the instructors supportive, the riders are too. I have made such great friends riding here. Any level rider can do this and guess what? No one's watching cause you're riding in the dark. Highly recommend checking it out! read more

StarCycle! Where have you been all my life!?! A group class with great music, great layout with designated personal space thanks to well-placed bikes (unlike some group classes) and, most importantly, a workout worth every penny. Cardio, core, lower and upper body all wrapped into one! The Staff is amazing. Never clipped into a bike before? No problem! Can't figure out how to get off your bike? No problem! Have ZERO rhythm but love to move? No problem! Kindness and an eagerness to spread the StarCycle love abounds. The lights out, candlelit environment welcomes all to focus on themselves and leave any insecurities at the door. read more

Finally! Just what SB needed. A clean and SEXY spin studio. Top notch instructors, excellent customer service and NO-intimidation factor! The music is perfect in quality and sound. The dark room keeps you focused but full of energy. I look forward to every class, can't say that about all my other workouts. The best commercial space La Cumbre has provided in years. Easy parking and easy class scheduling. Love StarCycle SB! read more

We found this place on our visit to Santa Barbara. It had great reviews and they had an open class available the morning we wanted to go. The staff was super friendly and the class was excellent. It was my first cycle class so I had no idea what to expect. The instructor was excellent and we had a blast. I would definitely recommend this place. read more

An absolutely INCREDIBLE WORKOUT! I'm hooked. This lovely spin program just opened up, and my oh my have they taken off. Each class is 45 minutes, and the times range from 5:45 am until 6:30 pm during the week. There are also weekend classes. You'll sign up for a class through an app - I really recommend signing up a bit in advance because the classes do get filled pretty quickly. If a class is full, you'll be put on a waitlist, but you'll know what place you are in line (and honestly, I've never had a problem with not getting into a class if I was waitlisted). I really enjoy the 5:45 am class! All the classes are taught by different trainers throughout the day, and the playlists are so great. You really are given 45 minutes of therapy honestly - the lights are dimmed, and you ride to candlelight. My favorite part is THE BIKES DO NOT MEASURE RESISTANCE OR SPEED. Ya heard me right - you can spin to your heart's desire without feeling worried about the numbers. Oh, and if you have kids with you but want to work out, you can have them hang out in their StarKids Play lounge during your class! They really have thought of everything. They also sell the bike shoes with the delta clips here as well as some really fun merch (my fave is their champagne yoga pants!). You can also purchase your own bike shoes with the delta clips, but I found it was just nice to have the exact ones they use. Plus, they put the clips in for you already. The trainers here are SO amazing! They are all so energetic, motivational, and inspiring. It's honestly so infectiously contagious - I always come out from class feeling so revitalized and pumped for not only maintaining a healthy lifestyle, but also for maintaining a positive perspective on life moving forward. That's a workout program I'll get behind any day. read more

I am obsessed. The best full body workout in just 45 minutes. It's fun, intense, and you leave wanting to come back. Other spin classes in town are depressing compared to this. An amazing addition to our town! The staff is so great and accommodating/ proactive. Book your classes in advance on the app because they do book up. The best membership you will have! Thank you Starcycle for rekindling my love for spin!! read more

Amazing workout and fun too! If you are looking for a challenge, this is for you. The instructors provide the motivation needed to get through the 45 minute workouts. By far, my favorite workout in Santa Barbara by far! Give it a try! read more

We went during their grand opening and it was free for first visit! The studio room and bikes are amazing! Sound system awesome! Front desk very nice. Lucky enough to have had a preview of the classes for the soft opening. These ladies and gents kick butt. The bikes are stable and quite appropriate for the class and it's a great workout! I went to a studio in LA for three years and was missing that in SB. I've found a spin home with Starcycle and am so glad to have this option here in town! read more

This is one of the most energetic and all around fantastic workouts! StarCycle Santa Barbara has all you need - amazing trainers that have fun, push you, make sure your form is spot on and have you leaving class with a drenched shirt and a huge smile on your face - great set up and ambiance where you get to work out in a dark setting with pumpin' music - great bikes that allow for numerous adjustments - superb location that's easy to get to and has hassle-free (and free) parking. Finally we have a spin studio in Santa Barbara! Love the experience, doesn't feel like a gym with a spin room and annoying techno music. It is brand new, so it's very clean and love the dark room (no windows) with candelit ambiance. The music (so fun!) and instructor (Dani) were AWESOME! Super energetic 45 min class; the time flew by. Can't wait to go again and again and again. read more
