Oh DADDY!!! I mean Amanda...you are my new guru and twerk queen!! I wish I had some fries to go with that shake! Major props for giving 100 from start to finish...booty drop don't play!! It's funky. It's fast. It's flirty. And a workout you were having too much fun to notice...consider me a super fan! Cycle: Ali is the BOMB! Not only do you get an intense sweaty spin workout, her energy and positive mindset are icing on that cake...add music selection and this class is pure FIRE!! Thank you thank you... fan girl over here! Love this studio, love Ali {owner} and all the instructors!! SPIN + STRENGTH: Christina led the way to an absolute bonfire of the body! Pretty much legs legs legs on the mat and then we went to the bike! Challenging, yes, but completely doable...just need to dig deep. Fast paced and fabulous! Thanks THE MOVEMENT for offering another truly fun, impactful and rewarding class!

I have always attended the spin classes, but she is now launching more mind, body & soul classes in the Laurel studio side. I feel so grateful she offered these classes FREE for this entire week to try them all out! I have tried: Candle Light Yoga Yoga Strength Total Body Bands Mat Pilates All the instructors are very knowledgeable and know their craft! They truly are phenomenal. I love the more boutique and personal feeling you get coming to this studio. They get to know everyone who goes! I'm excited to incorporate more of these classes into my regular routine. If I lived closer I would definitely get an unlimited pass she now offers. However, since I'm about a 20-25 min drive, I'm going to have to stick with what works for my schedule and convenience. If you haven't checked this place out yet, do yourself a favor and GO! All always offers your first class free. It's a gem and we need to support women owned small businesses!

It…read moreis my first time doing the reformer Pilates and I couldn't be more thrilled with how I feel after each class. My only regret is "why didn't I start doing this years ago"? Let me tell you why Core Pilates checks all the boxes. 1) The environment is tremendous. The skilled instructors (yes, they know what they are doing) are positive, helpful, and make you feel that you are in a private lesson! Kathleen is outstanding and should I also mention fun. 2) Unbelievably spotless. The machines are wiped down after every class. The entire place is so clean! You can tell that the owner, Chanda, takes great pride in making sure her business is done right. She is hands on and always available if you have questions, concerns, etc. 3) Variety of programs to fit your needs. I have only done the Classic reformer classes, which I love, but there are so many others to choose from. 4) Childcare. This is a biggie for moms who want to stop in and do a class and know their child is in good hands. I guess you can sense that I really love this place. If you have been thinking about starting Pilates or trying any of the other classes that they offer, I truly believe you will love Core Pilates as much as I do. They also have a free introductory class on Saturdays at 12noon. Do this once and I feel confident in saying that you will be h

Their stretching class on Tuesday and Thursdays is life-changing. It's active stretching, sometimes using tennis balls, or yoga straps and blocks. There's no muscle group too small to cover and you'll leave not just relaxed but maybe even taller. No kidding! Doing one of the leg stretching exercises Chanda leads, you can actually see the leg you start with has lengthened at the end of the exercise--so then you do the other leg to even out! After two years of hunching over a computer in grad school and an injury that took me out of running, the Pilates classes really started restoring my strength, and fix my neck and shoulder problems. One thing that sets this studio apart from others in my experience is the knowledge and willingness to correct form that all the instructors have. Another is the small scale and sense of community. The instructors all really get to know the students and students get to know each other.

Talking…read moremid-song, scrolling on phones, completely oblivious to everyone around them... it's not just annoying, it ruins the experience people are literally paying for. So let's be clear -- the issue wasn't management. The issue was a handful of members who couldn't manage basic gym etiquette. And yes, we did ask them to be quiet, but would they? No. And honestly? I'm glad management stepped in. They addressed it the right way -- clear, direct, and respectful to the entire community. A simple reminder to be present, be courteous, and respect the instructors and riders around you shouldn't be controversial... it should be standard. If anything, it showed they actually care about the experience they're providing -- and about the members who show up ready to work. Because here's the reality: you don't lose members over accountability... you lose them when bad behavior gets ignored. So if that email/social post bothered you, maybe ask yourself why. The rest of us? We're just here to ride, sweat, and not listen to your side conversations. Mic drop.

You will walk out of this place drenched in sweat and wanting to come back. Yeah it's hard, but the instructors and the staff are all incredibly motivational, supportive and helpful. You don't have to be an expert or seasoned cyclist to try this out. They're welcoming to all levels. I cannot wait for my next ride!
