No consistency at this location. The store hours are 6am and most days the door are locked and the employees ignore you and don't even acknowledge your presence. So then you have to go through the drive through and literally wait in a line you're trying to avoid by placing an online order. The employees will see you waiting at the counter and never acknowledge you. I feel like I have to interrupt them for their own personal conversations just to ask for a straw. I love all Starbucks as they have a great neighborhood feel and the employees go out of their way. I adored the Foothill location in Sylmar and the Sepulveda location (7040 Sepulveda). I have to give shout outs to the Cypress location and Citrus Ave locations. I am a coffee snob and Starbucks never fails to disappoint. Without even asking she immediately jumped at the chance to make it special. She wrote a cute "Happy Birthday" note on my bag. I went into this location to get my usual coffee that I always get whenever I go to any Starbucks and it was busy as usual, which is no big deal. I went through the drive-through and it was a long wait but I understood that but when I got to the speaker to place my order, I told them That I wanted lavender foam they said OK and we're very short very quick and kind of dismissive while taking my order I figured again it's because they're so busy I got to the window to pay and they put the wrong type of foam on my drink. It again was not a big deal. I understand mistakes happen and I did not mind. I said OK Let me come inside so I don't hold up the drive-through line and I'll just have it fixed inside. I'm doing my best to accommodate them because I've been a barista for three years and I know how bad that can get however, when I went inside three different barista saw me And none of them acknowledged me. I had to ask one as he was handing off a drink for help and he also just said oh we'll be right with you and walked away fast not even trying to see what my concern was. as if I hadn't just waited in an entire drive-through line. then when they finally helped me out at the register The barista asked what was wrong with my drink. I told her I ordered lavender foam and someone put brown sugar foam instead She said and I quote "i didn't take your order we're out of lavender foam what do you want?" And she said it very dry and disinterested as if I was inconveniencing her and wasting her time. And then all the baristas just took turns all staring at me and made different types of faces and just silently judged me as I told them the change I wanted to my drink and as they made it. not once did they apologize for the inconvenience thank me for waiting ask me if the problem was solved nothing. basically they didn't do anything that I know theyre trained to do. They did not follow the LATTE model that I know they're supposed to follow because I have the same training. I was a corporate barista for a year and now I'm a licensed store manager and the way that they treated me while I was in that store made me feel extremely dismissed. Especially since I went out of my way and got out of the drive-through line that I just waited in so that I wouldn't mess up their drive-through times and came inside and they just treated me like I was a walking inconvenience not a customer who paid after they made a mistake. I get the job is stressful, but that's no excuse to not do it right especially when it's what you signed up for coming from somebody who works the exact same job. And honestly I blame the ceo and the higher ups of the company who refuse to pay these baristas more for the hard work and stressful environment they're working in. That poor treatment from the company to the baristas just goes directly to the customers at the end of the day. Happy baristas make happy customers but corporate greed keeps them from caring. This is for the location on Foothill and Hubbard. Starbucks is Starbucks so no matter what, people will go here. I am taking time to write this in case a manager actually reviews these. My family lives in the area and my father goes every morning to get a coffee. He loves it here but constantly mentions that he receives attitude from the cashiers and even has had staff purposely give him cold baked goods when he has ordered it warm and he waits in line (he is a nice man) to ask them to reheat it. I am not sure WHY he is experiencing this but my speculation is that it may be because his English is not good and sometimes takes his time ordering. My father has a thick accent because English is his second language. You would think staff would be more patient considering the City of Sylmar is predominantly latinx/hispanic. Again, this is not going to stop my dad or family from coming here so I hope there is some training or some action taken by management so that staff is more inclusive and patient when it comes to the community they are serving. This is one issue. What has prompted me to draft this is MY experience this morning. We went in, it was NOT busy at all. The drive through was a bit busy but not anything crazy. There appeared to be PLENTY of staff working inside. We ordered drinks from a young lady with very nice eyelashes but an attitude. I am old enough to understand the angst of a young person working in the food industry so I remained kind and patient. I was VERY clear and kind in ordering a drink that I am lactose and need it to be made with oat milk. We got our drinks but Again, they forget my dads baked good so we had to remind them. We leave and I go to drink my coffee, I immediately recognize the milk taste (yay diarrhea). I check the cup and not only did she not get the oatmilk, she forgot other changes and ordered my drink EXTRA HOT. I honestly laughed out loud because I have no idea what I did for her to just flat out order the wrong drink. Anyways, this is way too long and I don't expect anyone to care but just wanted to make sure I expressed our experiences with this location. Disappointed. Ordered three drinks all with soy and none came with soy. As someone who once worked at Starbucks before, you learn the difference in taste when it comes to soy milk. Also for my drink there was matcha clumps at the bottom. We also ordered three sandwiches, which were cold. I had ordered a grilled cheese and it was not crunchy and the cheese was not melted completely. Last time I came to this Starbucks location I was helped by such a kind young lady she was so nice. I wasn't sure what to get since they didn't have my regular drink and the girl at the speaker suggested I get an iced white mocha with vanilla foam and caramel drizzle that's it's a popular drink. I ordered it and drank it and it was delicious and now it's my new regular because of her. She told me her name was Tiffany and she made me feel at ease because usually when I go places and they don't have my usual I tend to get a little panicked because I'm very antisocial and get scared too easily so I just never end up ordering but Tiffany made me feel so at ease and comfortable I always enjoy being helped out by her. I usually only come at night and when I do there's always a young girl Tiffany working and at first I was so overwhelmed, I didn't know what to order and she recommended I get a brown sugar espresso with 2 pumps brown sugar, 1 toffee, 1 white mocha and foam it was divine! It's now my favorite and every time I come she knows my order as soon as I pull to the box! Not exactly sure how that's possible since I can't remember what I myself have eaten the night prior but this makes me feel special :) I've seen the night staff multitasking and hustling- they seem to be understaffed, but this girl really does the work of five people. I don't understand why this place has two stars. It's clean, it's presentable, always stocked with fresh baked goods and other food, and their service is always top-notch. There's free WiFi, plenty of seating to sit down and/or do work, and parking in the back. Did I mention the drive-through? I'm a frequent customer and it seems like the service gets worse every time I go. It's Full of teenage workers who are disrespectful to my mom. My mom ordered a customized drink where she pays for add ons and they kept making the drink wrong. After my mom expressed she still didn't like her drink, a young teenager disrespected her, and was saying "what's your problem bro, you want to take this outside". My mom did not record this teenager yelling at her and the manager josh refused to give his name to my mom. Went to this location on 12/10/20 at 4:51 pm. Drive Thru line was out to the street. I was hoping that the line would move along. Well, I was wrong. I arrived at the window at 5:32. YES, 41 minutes in line. Some of you might be wondering why I didn't get out of line and just leave. Believe me, that's what I wanted to do. But, the parking lot is small and shares the Drive Thru line. There is only 1 driveway entrance to the parking lot for entering and existing. It is very congested to leave and once you have committed to the drive-thru line, you're stuck in line. So after being in this line for 41 minutes, I reached window. The employee was nice and professional. But I couldn't help but notice that the sense of urgency by the employees was horrible. Move very slowly with no motivation. Well as I pulled away with my drink (Gr Carml Macchiato) it didn't have Whip Cream, which I had request to be added to my drink when I placed my order. Long wait, and my drink was incorrect!! Apparently after reading other reviews from Yelp and Google Reviews, there are many other people that have encounter the same issues at this Starbuck location. **Please note, photo shows the employee that took my order did not"Add Whip Cream" But the Barista that prepared the drink, didn't pay attention. Message to Starbuck Corporation: "You need to wake up and smell the coffee!" Maybe some Management changes need to be done at this location. I won't be coming back to this location.
