This Starbucks is pretty small - about 5-6 tables indoors - but otherwise pretty run of the mill. As others have mentioned, good luck with parking :) The drinks are more or less the same, which is to be expected, but what set this location apart from the dozens of others I've been to is the staff bothering patrons for sitting too long at the tables. I order drinks online as I'm walking to the location (because.. no parking) so my drink and sandwich are ready when I arrive. By the time I arrive, there's only one other table occupied, so I grab my computer and set up, enjoy a bit of my drink, and eat breakfast. I'm sitting at the table for about an hour and 15 minutes - during this entire time, at most half the tables have had patrons. Most of the people come in, grab their drinks, and leave, so it's not like there are people standing around, waiting for a table. Anyway, I get up to throw away my trash and recycle my cup. Not even 5 minutes after I sit back down, literally the same barista that helped me find my online order asks if I'm a paying customer and that the tables are for paying customers only LOL. I can understand wanting to make sure tables are available for new patrons but there were at least 2-3 available the whole time I was there. Not feeling particularly welcome, I packed up my stuff and left. I don't think I'll be back. No other Starbucks has been this aggressive about booting people from tables, especially when there were plenty available and no other patrons were waiting for them. read more

After I ordered, I learned this location has no electricity outlets, nor working restrooms for their customers. The barista directed me across the street to Traders Joes. Coffee is now brewed as gas station coffee, by individual cup and press of a button. The taste is absolutely awful and the quality is not the same! This new way of dispensing coffee absolutely does not have the taste of quality and freshly brewed coffee. It tastes like instant coffee and the coffee is oddly discolored, appearing pale and made with dirty water. It is also warm to taste. Employees say this machine makes their job easier, but it certainly doesn't make the customer happy, nor happier. Calling the toll free number serves no purpose in their Guarantee, as the replacement will be made using the same machine. Employees are just doing their job and unfortunately, corporate has made an awful decision in that Starbucks is getting worse and worse as time goes by. IF A COFFEESHOP, PRIMARILY KNOWN FOR SELLING COFFEE, DOES NOT HAVE HIGH QUALITY COFFEE, THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO REASON TO CONTINUE TO VISIT! I ordered a double chocolatey chip frappuchino through the app before I arrived and monitored its status on the app. When I arrived, the drink was still 4-6 minutes from completion so I took a seat and started working on my computer. When I noticed the app say 0-3 minutes, I started to wonder if the barista does not call your name for online orders, so I went to the cashier to check. Sure enough, my drink was waiting for me for pickup. The drink was not what I expected. It just tasted like a chocolate milk shake with coarse ice pieces. There was no mocha sauce drizzled on the cream as advertised in the app but rather chocolate bits crumbled on top. I think they got my order wrong. When I was leaving, I bought a lemon loaf cake to-go and the guy crumbled part of the cake when he put it in the paper sleeve. I've never had this happen to me at a Starbucks before. This is not a Starbucks for quality food or service, but I came on a Saturday afternoon and there was plenty of seating. By the time one get to the intersection, it's too late to back up or get over to the far lane to do a u-turn - can't turn immediate right into the BART parking lot either, since the opening is for exit-only. I grew up in SSF so I've been to this Starbucks a few times. The customer service is a tad below average and the drink quality a tad below average as well. The person who rang us up Yvette or something had a really straight face on the entire time I was ordering my drink and gettin food. She didn't say thank you and acted irritated at the world. I get it sometimes people aren't as friendly but it takes more work to be that stoic than to actually just be friendly or smile. Starbucks should be all about their consistency; Consistent service from the workers, consistent drinks and food products and consistent cleanliness. I don't know what about the location that gives me a good pick-me-up. No matter how busy the baristas are, they always welcome their patrons into the store. And at the register, they always try to make your visit that day a bit more personalized with small-talk, even if there's a full house! The store also remains to be kept very clean, even at their peak, rush hours! You know how you order drinks at various places, or even the same place, and for just some reason they can never get your drink tasting the way it should be? This store just nails it every single time. I've had different employees make my drink and gone at various times of the day from day break, to early mornings, to the time high schoolers take up 90% of the store, to evenings and closings and never have I ever received a drink that has lacked flavor, or had too much water or too much ice. My drink is always made excellently and that's difficult for me to admit because I can get super picky! I'd like to really commend the staff for their consistency. They all greet me by name now, they know my order and I feel extremely welcome. I used to go to the drive thru Starbucks on juniper serra. I'm not one to usually write Yelp reviews, esp for Starbucks but what happened a few mornings ago really bothered me. I came in to pick up a mobile order and the First Lady who helped me (I believe her name was Bella) was incredibly nice and sweet. What bothered me was the lady who was bossing her around (I didn't catch her name). The way she spoke to Bella was incredibly rude, I'm not sure if she's a manager or training her but no one should ever be spoken to like that, especially in front of a customer. I understand that mornings at a coffee shop may be incredibly stressful but you should never speak to another employee like that regardless of the circumstance. I can't imagine how embarrassed Bella might have been. However, she handled it very professionally and was very kind to both me and her the whole time.
