What we received was a dry cake with hardly any flavor. My Mother thought it was just a yellow cake, she couldn't even taste the lemon. And she is an experienced baker. She made our lemon and raspberry wedding cake, that my husband was trying to recreate. The raspberry "preserves" were gelatinous, like pie filling from a can. Preserves should be a jam like consistency, only with larger fruit pieces. But sadly, this was goopy and artificial tasting. And the buttercream was greasy, not creamy, like it was made from Crisco shortening (not butter), sugar and water. It didn't even have any flavor (maybe they forgot to put vanilla extract in it?) Even the construction of the cake was poor. They clearly didn't put enough batter in the pans. Normally you shave the rounded top off to make it flat. This bakery just added tons of icing in an attempt to make up for the rounded edges. Which also meant there were barely any raspberry "preserves" in between the layers. And last but not least. When my husband special ordered the cake (in person) he asked for white sprinkles. When he arrived to pick up the cake, it wasn't ready. And they told him they didn't have white sprinkles. And offered to cover the entire cake in tiny rock hard pearls, that are typically only used sparingly for decorative purposes. Because they are so hard, many decorators recommend removing them before eating! My Dad bit into it and said it was like trying to eat buck shot. My Father has never met a cake or sweet he didn't like, until now. He didn't want another piece during his entire visit. My mother and I didn't even finish our first piece. To charge $70 for this 8" cake was just criminal. I would have returned it if I could.

I friggen love coffee... and honestly, for me, its very hard to screw up my coffee... but seriously, only filling it 3/4 of the way full, come on... nothing that could make me more upset. Also charging me for things I didn't order.... really? Now I don't feel so bad about being a little harsh with this one because I have worked for Starbucks.... its really simple, all of the stuff you make the drinks in have measuring lines for petes sake... even when i ask for no foam or no whipped cream my drink is still only 3/4th's of the way full, every time. I mentioned it to the girl in the drive through window and she gave me serious attitude and rolled her eyes. No apology, nothing. I would not recommend this place, to anyone, ever... even if its convenient for you to stop here, don't, go to the McDonald's next door, at least they will fill your coffee up all the way. read more

This is the best Starbucks in Seaside. The service is fast,and they serve a great selection of pastries. My favorite beverage is the Berry Chai with a Maple Oat Scone(and during the fall,the Pumpkin Scone.) Be sure to look for Stephanie,Stacy and of course,Amber,the manager. I spent some time talking to her about her life and mine as she was leaving. I can't tell you how great I felt after we talked yesterday-the only thing she wouldn't do that I suggested she and her boyfriend should do for Independence Day,watch the big Astros-Giants game,to which she responded "My boyfriend and I don't like sports,we like cars." The girl that is yelling out orders today, 11/11/18 @ 10:30am first makes my drink and gives it to another customer. Then she re-makes my drink and tells that it's a peppermint mocha. I specifically reply that I had just ordered a white mocha no peppermint at all. She then says "yes I put white mocha in there just how you ordered" and what is my drink???? A PEPPERMINT MOCHA. How hard is it to even listen to a customer. I specifically say that I did not order anything peppermint and she also said "I hope all the extra chocolate topping makes up for me giving your drink away" this lady really needs to step her work game up. This Starbucks is terrible. When the drive-thru line is full (which it usually is) people will block traffic waiting for the line to move. I can't believe Starbucks allows this. Also, they let bums stand right outside their drive-thru window with enormous signs asking for money. Thanks for contributing to the panhandling epidemic we are already dealing with. The entire time, my kids were quiet and studying in the Starbucks (NOT the library), you can't lecture other people's children, you need to speak to the adults, because obviously you made my little boys feel bad and uncomfortable, also your music is soooo loud, you can turn it down a notch, and lastly, don't work at a public coffee shop if you don't like noise, work at a library instead. The coffee was also way too sweet, it didn't taste good at all. Honestly, we felt discriminated because we have children. If this happens again, I will need to take some action against your behavior. Calling you out for it in person, and writing a review about it, doesn't justify how awful of the customer service you gave us.

This SB is what your neighborhood SB used to be like maybe 20-25 years ago before homelessness took…read moreover the country and particularly in CA, a sanctuary state not only for illegal aliens, but also drug addled, alcoholic, welfare dependent, and mentally disturbed individuals who live on the street and in many cases do not want a job or housing. This SB almost never has homeless people, has no key pad locks on the toilets, we have never seen it overcrowded nor having a more than an average noise level, and it has men's and women's toilets. This is a tourist area, so perhaps the service is what you would expect. The impression the various staff has given us over several years of visits to this area is that if you are a recognized local, then they are super nice to you, but if not, then they are pleasant, but not as nice as the staff at your local SB back home who may or may not recognize you as a regular. For what we typically order here, hot and cold teas and mochas (frap and coffee versions), the quality has been pretty consistent and typical compared to other locations. The parking lot is about medium sized for the size of the store and average for the area, although probably small compared to your store back home. We have always been able to get a spot so far. There are no left turns on this section of Lighthouse so plan to turn left or right and circle back on the side streets to access the lot. In the back, on Hawthorne, there is a back entrance to the lot that is super convenient if coming from a correct direction to use it. Unlike some SB's that no longer want you hanging around, there is ample seating and plugs for staying longer to study or hang out with your devices or friends. One of our favorite aspects of coming to this area is to come hang out at this SB, because none of them anywhere near our home area is still like it anymore. If visiting Pacific Grove, Monterey, or the surrounding areas, definitely plan to come stop by this SB location if only to see what SB and America used to be like long ago.

Coffee and coffee drinks are available and rival Starbucks in their variety and "fun" trends. But they also fresh grind different beans and can do classic coffees (like pour over and cappuccino). I will end with this and then leave you alone - we left this place at 615am and sat down in the main grandstand in Turn 4 at Laguna Seca at 715am to watch epic Historic car racing and sank my teeth into a HOT and beautiful croissant breakfast sandwich with bacon in it in the heavy fog. Everything was wet and cold - I drank my hot tea and ate my food.... and it was simply glorious. Thank you to the real humans at Plumes. Yall rock.

The customer in front of me ordered 7 drinks. She calls for help on the walkie talkie and goes to make the drinks. Her helper comes to help and after getting around halfway through, then comes over to take the orders. They were out of large cups so I got regular instead. Asked for 50 percent sweet with boba for 2 different drinks. Mine tasted watered down and my daughter's drink tasted like it was half full of syrup. It was sickeningly sweet. Boba was half dissolved like when you reheat boba in your drink the next day. Anyways, they were disappointing $7 drinks. We drank about half and tossed the rest. Would not come again.
