We left with a bitter taste in our mouth because the lady with curly gray hair rudely asked us to wait outside even though my husband was looking at their products which he was considering purchasing. He put it back because she told us to wait outside. If you want customers to wait outside, maybe you should put your products elsewhere? Only a few minutes later, another customer waited exactly where we were standing and they didn't say anything to her. The barista taking our order was friendly and welcoming. The pourover was good. It was a true light roast from Costa Rica with fruity bright notes. The espresso was a typical medium-dark roast, nothing to write home about. The milk texture was overly frothy with big bubbles. Acme is one of our favorite breakfast/coffee spots around Monterey. We get the items to go. They're consistently good and have breakfast items from local shops, like Red's Donuts and Parker-Luseeau. Here's what we ordered: Oat milk latte ($6) - very smooth, nice and bright, not smoky Cappuccino ($5) - great, better than average Berry croissant ($6) - wow! Super delicious laminated pastry loaded with fresh berries. This one was a favorite! Chocolate croissant ($4.75) - classic pastry with 2 sticks of high-quality chocolate. Not very large, but this was our littlest one's fav. Morning bun ($4.75) - super good! Has some orange zest which gives it a nice touch and extra flavor. Portobello leek quiche ($7.75) - DH's absolute favorite. He's a savory food lover. Flavors worked great together. Overall, a great place to get breakfast. The cappuccinos were good but the terrible was horrible. And entitled woman passing out the drinks didn't answer me when I asked for lids 3x. The customer was nice enough to tell us they were on the table behind us. She then proceeded to tell him that we were having cappuccinos, we didn't need them any way and made fun of us. LOCALS ONLY! The pour over was amazing! I got the Valve Job (on the board to the right). It takes about 5 minutes, but was quite worth it. Silky smooth, nice and strong, great bouquet. Even the cup was beautifully labelled with my name and drink type in some sort of hand written calligraphy. The artisan pastries satisfied as well. I was mesmerized by the muffins in one of the cases. Choice of blueberry or coffee cake. So good, soft and moist, with struessel things on top. Maybe I'll come back to try the other pastries. Or maybe not... Service was ... weird. They were super nice to the people they knew, calling them by name. Nice to see you again, etc. But when we were up, it was monotone, no smile, minimum answers. We got blank stares from all three people behind the counter. When I asked if she liked the coffeecake or blueberry better, she just said she hadn't tried them. Yah right. Very cute spot, seems like a local favorite! The baristas are all so kind and helpful, patient when I was trying to figure out what I wanted. He buys 2 pounds for $40, and you would think a free cup of drip coffee would be in order. NO. A wimpy sized cup is $1.50 more!!! The coffee is average, NO way is it worth $20/lb. It's a unique, quaint little coffee shop, hole-in-the-wall kind of place. There's little to none seating, but the coffee was great and the staff were friendly. Average Coffee, Bad Service! So my wife ordered a cold brew coffee and had the nerve to ask for white mocha in her coffee. Apparently the tattooed girl and older lady found this to be the most opprobrious or actions and loudly talked bad about how my wife should even order coffee if she doesn't like it without flavor in it. That's some weird stuff. We each got a coffee and it was seriously pretty average coffee, not strong enough to me. It's a dirty little building with 4 parking spots, not sure what people like here. This place was by far the best coffee place I've tried on my trip to Monterey Bay. I think I stopped by 3 or 4 coffee shops and I really can't say anything positive about them EXCEPT this place. Which from what I'm told from legit Vietnamese shops is they brew coffee with coffee instead of water that's why it's super potent and also it's mixed with condensed milk. Husband and I were in Seaside for a couple of days and when searching for coffee this place came up. So glad that we decided to try it. When we first saw it it looks like an old car garage or shop, but then as you get closer you realize that it's a cool coffee shop. You get in line and take a step down to order your drink / pastry. We both ordered a vanilla latte . And got a few pastries to try. The pastries were good but would have been better warmed up a bit. There was three ladies working the shop, one taking the orders and one doing the slow drips and getting the beans ready for the one that's making the drinks. They have a pretty good system going. They have a lot of regular customers that I saw. We both loved our drinks and plan on returning if we are ever back in Seaside or Marina area. read more

We were just reminiscing about a trip in 2024, and Acme coffee came up. It was one of the highlights of our vacation. Solidly good coffee, and one of the best mochas my husband ever had. Yummy pastries. Plus a cool low key walk up venue. I picked up the Resist Corporate Coffee sticker from the little basket by the register, stuck it on my travel coffee mug, and never got another Starbucks after. The biggest coffee snob you'll meet and this place gets a 5 star from me. My biggest thing is they roast their beans so you can taste how fresh it is not to mention the beans don't upset my stomach. My problem with a lot of coffee shops around the area is their beans are presumably from Latin America which tends to be very acidic and bright - not the best choice to be used as an espresso. Acme has it all good beans, baristas were well trained so my foam was good, and prices are stellar. Couldn't believe for a small Mexican mocha I paid a flat $5. Just wish they had a shop to chill because this is absolutely a to go place. Will definitely be back! read more

Coffee: a bit weak, maybe I'm just spoiled by the bold, robust coffees common in Santa Cruz county and the Bay Area. Service: mildly bullying; "who orders a white mocha in 2025? Gross." Location: lacks charm, inconvenient parking lot, no restroom facilities, no dogs allowed despite being outside (and they don't even yell at you about it until you're at the counter) Convenience: low, location off the main road, with a couple people ahead of me I was in and out in about 18 minutes Conclusion: One star with a one star tip to support small business.
