Iced latte and coffee cake muffin

5 stars Fantastically smooth iced oat milk latte and an oversized and delicious coffee cake muffin from Nece's.

This is my favorite coffee shop but my last two visits were not good. The other day, they gave me a completely different coffee and today, they forgot the vanilla syrup. It makes me wonder how their system works. Vanilla syrup is extra charge, I believe, so if people pay for things shouldn't the staff make sure they get it?

Acme is one of our favorite breakfast/coffee spots around Monterey. We get the items to go. They're consistently good and have breakfast items from local shops, like Red's Donuts and Parker-Luseeau. Here's what we ordered: Oat milk latte ($6) - very smooth, nice and bright, not smoky Cappuccino ($5) - great, better than average Berry croissant ($6) - wow! Super delicious laminated pastry loaded with fresh berries. This one was a favorite! Chocolate croissant ($4.75) - classic pastry with 2 sticks of high-quality chocolate. Not very large, but this was our littlest one's fav. Morning bun ($4.75) - super good! Has some orange zest which gives it a nice touch and extra flavor. Portobello leek quiche ($7.75) - DH's absolute favorite. He's a savory food lover. Flavors worked great together. Overall, a great place to get breakfast. It is a bit more expensive if you want to splurge on some delicious pastries and are staying in Seaside!

Lavender Oat Milk Latte and Oat Milk Latte

My partner and I stopped by Acme in Seaside and got two iced oat milk lattes (mine with lavender), and they hit the spot. This small stand draws a big crowd, but the service was quick. The espresso was rich without being bitter, and the oat milk gave it that perfect creamy texture. This is a spot that actually cares about coffee. We'll be back next time we're in the area!

The nicest people and best coffee -- I was so touched by how kind and friendly the woman behind the counter was and my iced Americano was utterly scrumptious! Perfectly balanced espresso, strong and not bitter in slightest - I wish I could go here every day and can't wait to go back. The indoor/outdoor vibe is charming - it's a perfect spot, gorgeously lit in the early morning sun too. Love their pastry selection and how extensive and fresh the options were -- grabbed a Red's donut and was delightful

Some of the best coffee! They also have yummy pastries . The service was great. Love the selection and that they are very low key.

LOCALS ONLY! The pour over was amazing! I got the Valve Job (on the board to the right). It takes about 5 minutes, but was quite worth it. Silky smooth, nice and strong, great bouquet. Even the cup was beautifully labelled with my name and drink type in some sort of hand written calligraphy. The artisan pastries satisfied as well. I was mesmerized by the muffins in one of the cases. Choice of blueberry or coffee cake. So good, soft and moist, with struessel things on top. Maybe I'll come back to try the other pastries. Or maybe not... Service was ... weird. They were super nice to the people they knew, calling them by name. Nice to see you again, etc. But when we were up, it was monotone, no smile, minimum answers. We got blank stares from all three people behind the counter. When I asked if she liked the coffeecake or blueberry better, she just said she hadn't tried them. Yah right. Hot drink person was blank stare, and handed me my pour over without comment. The cold drink lady, however, called out. "Iced caramel latte for Evangeline, your drink is *still* here". Okay lady. We get it. Your coffee and snacks are awesome, but for locals only. Tourists, there's a starbucks down the street.

This little roastery looks super cute but the service and coffee are really mediocre. Not horribly tasting but not worth it in my opinion. They also have no seating or bathrooms (nearest bathroom is at another coffee shop nearby). The coffee was made fairly quickly but definitely not somewhere we would be excited to come back to unfortunately

Very cute spot, seems like a local favorite! The baristas are all so kind and helpful, patient when I was trying to figure out what I wanted. It's an outdoor patio style coffee shop, very cool and relaxed type of environment. Their drinks are amazing, I highly recommend coming by and trying out their drinks! They aren't overly sweet and yet so flavorful!

To start off with I was worried cause I read reviews on service but honestly service was spot on very friendly woman who checked us in and made our coffee. Now for the coffee it's good like really good it has a taste like no other it has that good coffee taste. Very simple menu but it works. I really enjoyed the option to adding cinnamon on top to your like the self service on that was a highlight for me.

The smell immenating from this place is heavenly. The line moved quick. The office was amazing. The cashier lady was kind friendly and had the most beautiful eyes. This would be my go to coffee spot if I lived here.

I looked at the picture of the menu I took in May, and I don't see Matcha on the menu. Closest thing is a Chai.

I got a few goodies to try which included the blue cornmeal cookie, almond financier and an orange blossom tea cake. I also ordered their seasonal coffee which was a honey saffron latte. The cookies, financier and tea cake were all delicious. The latte wasn't overly sweet and was even a bit savory. It grew on me. There were a few sandwiches ordered by other patrons that looked scrumptious. If I hadn't eaten breakfast already, I would've ordered something substantial. Hopefully, I'll return to Monterey again. Another few min passed and another customer told me it could be the bag that was sitting on the counter for about 15 min. I had checked the order a few times, but it had another person's receipt in front of the bag so I thought it was another person's order. It ended up being my order, they had placed the receipt behind the bag so only they could see the name. was a very annoying experience especially after waiting in line for so long. Their order system and customer service needs to be improved

To say I am disappointed in the $70 Birthday cake my husband purchased is an understatement…read more He ordered a lemon cake with raspberry preserves with buttercream icing. What we received was a dry cake with hardly any flavor. My Mother thought it was just a yellow cake, she couldn't even taste the lemon. And she is an experienced baker. She made our lemon and raspberry wedding cake, that my husband was trying to recreate. The raspberry "preserves" were gelatinous, like pie filling from a can. Preserves should be a jam like consistency, only with larger fruit pieces. But sadly, this was goopy and artificial tasting. And the buttercream was greasy, not creamy, like it was made from Crisco shortening (not butter), sugar and water. It didn't even have any flavor (maybe they forgot to put vanilla extract in it?) Even the construction of the cake was poor. They clearly didn't put enough batter in the pans. Normally you shave the rounded top off to make it flat. This bakery just added tons of icing in an attempt to make up for the rounded edges. Which also meant there were barely any raspberry "preserves" in between the layers. And last but not least. When my husband special ordered the cake (in person) he asked for white sprinkles. When he arrived to pick up the cake, it wasn't ready. And they told him they didn't have white sprinkles. And offered to cover the entire cake in tiny rock hard pearls, that are typically only used sparingly for decorative purposes. Because they are so hard, many decorators recommend removing them before eating! My Dad bit into it and said it was like trying to eat buck shot. My Father has never met a cake or sweet he didn't like, until now. He didn't want another piece during his entire visit. My mother and I didn't even finish our first piece. To charge $70 for this 8" cake was just criminal. I would have returned it if I could.
