This is my new favorite coffee shop in Monterey! I'm a bit of a coffee fiend, always chasing that next truly great cup, and this spot absolutely delivers. My personal benchmark for any coffee shop is their Americano. There's nowhere to hide when it comes to the quality of the beans and extraction, and Six Over passed with flying colors. The aroma was floral and really distinct - something you don't really get from larger chains or even some specialty shops. It had a slight bitterness up front, but as it cooled, it mellowed out beautifully and became incredibly balanced. We also ordered a vanilla latte, and everything about it was on point from the silky texture of the foam to the simple heart poured on top. It struck that perfect balance between milk and espresso. The pastries (from Ad Astra) were a great addition. We ordered a kouign-amann to share, which had an amazing crème brûlée-like bottom. I do wish it could have been slightly warmed up. What really stood out, though, was the atmosphere. The staff were laughing, joking with each other, and engaging with customers the whole time we were there. It felt genuine and welcoming. Just like the kind of place that quickly becomes part of the community. Really hoping Six Over becomes a staple in Monterey. I'll definitely be back. read more

I was so excited to hear that this coffee shop was coming to Monterey and I've loved this place since they opened! Personally I feel it's hard to find a good coffee shop in Monterey county but they do not disappoint from the coffee, pastries, and staff. Visited on 06/23/26 to meet a relative from out of town. I ordered a Latte with extra shots and made with macadamia nut milk. It was wonderfully delicious. One of the better coffee beverages I've had. Now I'm going to have to search for Macadamia nut milk to make my Lattes at home. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. For those concerned with eco-friendly choices, the cups are paper, which I appreciated. Street parking is sometimes limited. Ample parking in the back parking lot. read more

I've been walking by this place a lot waiting for it to open. I could see a couple people in there daily working on getting the place together. They've really created a quaint, no frills place that is very welcoming. The service has been friendly and quick despite only being open a couple of days. The drinks are $4 for drip and about $5 for lattes which is cheaper than I expected for a new place with quality beans. I even bought a bag of beans from them that was cheaper than the roaster sells it online! This place will definitely be added to the rotation! read more

Saw this spot on TikTok and had to check it out. We loved it so much we went back two days in a row! The coffee is strong, and the spiced chai had just the right kick--rich, warm, and full of flavor. But the real stars were the baked goods... easily some of the best we've had. Honorable mention to the biscuits with jam--I'm still dreaming about them. Stopped in for our first visit and we were pleased to find an lovely selection of fresh pastries. We ordered an oat milk latte, drip coffee, basque cheesecake, chocolate madeleine, and biscuit. We had the biscuit with a nice jam but it was so good I enjoyed it all alone. I highly recommend the basque cheesecake: it's crustless with a caramelized top, pillowy light with just the right amount of sweetness. Perfect anytime of day. I wasn't expecting much on the chai latte because in many places it just tastes like sweet milk with a tad of cinnamon. But this chai blew me away. I love a really spicy chai . Super cute coffee shop in a great location! I love the blue and white vibes throughout the space, from the merch to the coffee cups and espresso machine. I tried an iced vanilla latte and an iced vanilla matcha latte, both with oat milk, and really enjoyed both. The coffee wasn't overly sweet, which I appreciated, and the matcha was delicious and sweetened perfectly. Only 2-3 people working but the service was super quick without taking away from the quality of the coffee. The couple who own the shop have clearly curated a great vibe. Came in just a few weeks after they opened (unbeknownst to me) while visiting Monterey on vacation. Coffee was delicious, biscuits were delicious. (We got drip coffee and biscuits.) Friendly staff too. I enjoyed the coffee so much I'd gladly get it shipped to my home if they ever expand in that direction. Visited Monterey from San Francisco. Was looking for coffee + Matcha place. There's quite a few in the area with thousands of positive reviews but I'm glad we went with six over. Their matcha exceeded my expectations! They're not batching, and have various milk and sweetener options. I'm very particular about my matcha and often brace myself for disappointment, but this place was awesome. I think they use Rocky's matcha based off some of the reviews ( Rocky's is my fav). Went in last week with my sister, we ordered a flat white and a matcha latte. Flat white was pretty good. However--I am usually wary of ordering matcha bc it's expensive and usually not so good, so to be safe we ordered an extra shot so it would be extra strong. It was 7.25 w the extra matcha. I make matcha at home w Rocky's so I know what it's supposed to taste and look like. It was watery and not whisked well. I usually never complain but I went inside and asked if they put in the extra shot and they said they did. They were reluctant to add more.
