This is my local Starbucks that I frequent often for a quick caffeine kick or a sugary drink. The staff are always incredibly friendly and they're so quick. Sometimes my drink will be ready within a minute of me ordering. The grilled cheese is always done perfectly and their chai tea latte is never watered down. What else could I ask for from a Starbucks? The interior of the store is simple and they have a good amount of tables to do work inside. However, they do blast their music pretty loud... so keep that in mind if you require a more quiet space to chat or do work in. There's also outside tables where a lot of locals mingle during lunch hours. The parking lot can be a pain here, so you might need to park near DishNDash and walk over. This is a seriously busy hub for all the business plazas in the area! read more

I never leave a SB review but I just wanted to thank Ivy for making my coffee the way I like it!! Upon first sip it was literally just the way I wanted it/make at home! I always mobile order and somehow the coffee just never ends up tasting right. It's not hard to mess up an iced americano with soy milk and a pump of vanilla syrup, but a lot of starbucks I go to don't make them how I like it to taste. This location always gets my order correct and the service is friendly. Street parking is limited but there is an attached garage for extra parking. They have both a nice indoor seating area and an outdoor permanent area as well. Great environment to have a coffee and get in some work! read more

hands down the worst starbucks i've been to in san jose. got there when they opened, they hadn't opened the doors yet at 4:30AM and seemed annoyed when I was there early. They had just opened and of course they lazily said they didn't have apple croissants, to which I called him out for and then he proceeded to say they did have them but needed them to "defrost". He was very unpleasant and then proceeded to be condescending when I was trying to scan the app on the scanner, to which he told me it didn't work that way and wanted me to apple pay instead when I was already using the app.. to which guess what? they charged me on my card and the app because he didn't know what was what. do not come here just go to the one closest instead. read more

This is my goto Starbucks, close to work... I order through the app and my coffee is ready in 2 minutes, always, despite how busy this place is... The strip mall location is boring but typical for a Starbucks. This particular strip mall sucks more than most so it is the highlight for me. There is no clover here so if you want fresh brewed coffee you are out of luck... Cold brews sell out quick as well. If you want any of the other offerings Starbucks have to offer then this place lays it down solid. Whether seeing my old friend Victor Montoya as the manager or greeting any of the friendly Barista staff I always have a great experience while at this location. Today I was feeling under the weather and picked up a "sick tea" and it is hitting the spot. It dawned on me that this group of Baristas have always taken such good care of me and my coworkers and I want to make sure they get credit. Their manager Victor is very friendly and always inviting. Everyone working in this café are very smart, funny, knowledgeable, and considerate. They are located right smack in the middle of quite a few major employers. For that reason if you go between 7 am and 10 am you should expect to have a little bit of a line to get your drink. This Starbucks makes the best espresso of all the locations I have tried in the Bay area..pretty baffling how the same coffee machines and coffee beans at different locations result in totally different espresso flavors?!? Surrounded by many businesses, this is the go to Starbucks for many people so you can expect a line in the morning from Monday to Friday! However, that doesn't mean that you have to wait long to get your drinks. The employees here provide great customer embedded with positive attitude (which is important when working in a coffee shop) and the ability to work fast. Although there may be a line, the employees have grown accustomed to the influx of people coming in and do an exceptional job. I usually stop by 2x a weeks but i was impressed when the person taking my order remembered my drink. Additionally, some of the employees know the customers on a first name basis-- great customer interactions! This particular Starbucks is known for their speed because the majority of the customers work nearby and need their caffeine and pastry fix pronto; including myself. I am not much of a coffee drinker only because it has no effect on me. That morning was a rough one for me as I had a tire blowout on 880S. Through the cold and rain, I managed to drive as far as I could towards the Cal Train station because I needed to deliver food for a special someone. Anyway- the staff here are very short, like there's no time to be friendly. I ordered my iced tall quad espresso w/ a pump of white mocha. The drink took less than 2 minutes to reach my hand. The straws here are self served so after grabbing one, I ran to my car so I can get to school w/ a caffeine kick.... I barely had 3 sips when the cup flipped over. The lid wasn't put on correctly so you can guess what happened. My car smelled like coffee for quite sometime. It was my fault, I should have checked. I am not going to ding this place for my carelessness. If you want your coffee and pastry quick, definitely come here. read more

I never thought I'd do a review on a Starbucks (mostly because it's such a large company & I'm sure the general public has heard of / been to a Starbucks), but I must say, the morning crew here is AWESOME!! I come in every so often before work and the baristas are always so warm and welcoming. They make an effort to know you by name, are so incredibly polite (without overdoing it lol), and go the extra mile to make sure you're satisfied with your experience. There are a LOT of businesses in the area so there is a constant pour in of people, yet the baristas manage to keep their energy up and attitudes positive. read more

This is a standard Starbucks location with the typical menu items. There are lots of outdoor seating, 5 tables inside, and small bar area to sit down. This place does get crowded and there are lots of people who fill up the seats quickly. The parking lots fills up quickly around lunch time so try to come early to beat the lunch crowd. The staff is really nice and is the main reason for why I stop by for a cup of coffee at this location. read more

I've been here many times awhile back during the days when YELP mobile was still in the planning phase - and their customer service is just beyond EXCELLENT, it is THE BEST! I don't really know the point of reviewing a starbucks. but this one was just OK. the interior space was kinda cutup with very few tables and a distinct lack of plushness. the outside tables, no ambience. It faces a parking lot, and beyond that, the trimble and first street intersection. what's the point? the barista was friendly in a way that kind of scared me. i think it's part of the howard schultz company missive thing. it's the first starbucks i've been to since buying many packages of ground coffee at one time at safeway so I could use that coupon where you get $10 off a $50 purchase. I agree with a previous reviewer regarding this particular Starbucks being busy most of the day. It's not like that there isn't other Starbucks nearby. This place was packed moments after I sat down to have my cappuccino. And it pretty much stayed that way. Don't know why. Aren't folks supposed to grab their coffee and go to work? Nope, not all. There were a good dozen people sitting there in pairs and sipping their drinks. If I were them, I would not. I rather be at work at 9 AM and not enjoying their coffee at Starbucks. Excellent staff and manager, glowing personalities, prompt service. Previously having worked for Starbucks for seven years, I thoroughly enjoy when a store does it right. Almost every day I would either do a mobile order or walk across from my office. They all would smile, were incredibly polite, and go out of their way to ask about day. Unpleasant Starbucks experience. Generally the workers here are pretty nice (+star) but there is one staff in particular who is extremely rude - not just on one occasion but on MULTIPLE occasions (I gave her a chance) and for that reason in am giving this review. I typically get my drink with a flat lid on the side, instead of doing this when I asked for the lid the worker poured part of my drink away, placed the lid on top, and tossed my drink to me and left. There wasn't a long line which I appreciated because there is always a line at starbucks...... I have a complicated order of iced green tea latte, sweetened, shaken, less ice with soy milk. My drink was decent but it was a pale green color because there wasn't enough matcha powder. I guess I will have ask for a little bit more powder in my drink. The best non-drive thru Starbucks location -- so mobile ordering can't be beat here! But the problem with mobile ordering is you don't get to experience the awesome personality of the entire staff here! And don't let the line out the door fool you. It's only because the counter is so close to the front door. They'll have you on your way in no time! I'm going to miss these guys as my office is moving further down First Street. My "work" Starbucks! Or rather, my "escape from work for a few minutes of sanity" Starbucks! I don't go here for the atmosphere; the busy-busy-busy hustle of Silicon Valley culture is far too prevalent. In the morning? Line. At lunch time? Line. At 2:30 afternoon? Line. After 8:00-ish? Closed! So, right about now (it's 4 o'clock, abouts) is when I'll usually head on over, for a bit of a breather from work (not that I do anything of import, now that I've found Yelp), get myself caffeinated, and brace myself for another 2-3 hours of work (again, not that I do anything...) And mostly, I go here for the smiles/giggles/hellos! I *heart* the baristas at this Sbux! They're always (ALWAYS!) cheery and extra friendly, even when all the suit-n-tie "i'm-important-lookitme's" are starting to get antsy. I walk in here, tattered denim and chuck-all-stars, and they treat me well, anyway. They always have a long line, but most of the workers take their time to greet the customers and not make us feel rush. I always come to this Starbucks since it's the closest one. Beautiful scenery with nice indoor and outdoor sitting. Today was another great experience. Their internet isn't that fast, so my gold card reward won't show up on my phone. This Starbucks is in the strip mall on the intersection of north first and Trimble. It isn't open on Sunday and primarily caters to the number of offices around the area. I work nearby and usually go to store with my colleagues for an order of cappuccino and sometimes a nut bread. In both cases they don't disappoint. In a few instances they were out of low fat milk, but that doesn't happen often. There is seating inside as well as outside the store. It does get chilly in the winters, and thereby gets pretty crowded inside. The orders are quickly prepared and they are also good if you have ordered ahead using their app. The only thing that I do not like about the place is that the order pickup area can get very crowded and if you have a seat near to that place, it can get pretty annoying. But I guess there isn't much that they can do about it. read more

This is the Starbucks on my way to work and although I don't usually write a review for the mega super chain of the world, I just had to following a funny incident last week. First to the store, it's in the crowded lunchtime shopping center on Trimble and First St. so lunch time not a great time to arrive here. Also, they are closed on weekends since they cater mostly to the business crowds. Otherwise, they crank out the drinks and rock it like every other store. After I placed an order, I waited near the pick up area which is also near the bathrooms. Now the men's room was closed for cleaning so one guy who either was oblivious or in a rush, went into the ladies room! I performed a double take and I looked around to see if anyone else noticed...nobody did! Everyone was talking, doing their own thing...then before I knew, the guy emerged out of the ladies room like nothing was wrong! I'm not sure if I'll ever see something like this every again! read more

I work real close by and walk to this Starbucks almost everyday. I usually just a get a good regular ol' cup of black coffee. Sometimes I'll get a cheese Danish, other times I'll get a croissant. What does this have to do with the review? Absolutely nothing. POSITIVES: - The staff is top notch, by far, the friendliest Starbucks I've ever been to. I know almost all the employees and they all always have a warming smile. - Coffee taste like every other Starbucks Ive drank at, so a plus for consistency? - Walking distance from my work so that equals the shizzle. NEGATIVES: - Parking during lunch time is NON-EXISTENT.
