This review is for the awesome barista in the starbucks target, his name is Matt. He was so funny and very nice, especially so early in the morning. Definitely perked (pun intended) my morning up. He deserves a raise for making people happy. Thanks Matt!

Cool Starbucks located inside of Target. Target use to have a snack bar here where they would sell: hot dogs, pretzels, nachos, popcorn, churros, and many other things. Starbucks is a welcome addition though. Unlike other standard Starbucks usually are, this one is not crowded at all. There is ample parking and seating, so it should be a great place for studying. I don't remember checking to see if this Starbucks has free WiFi, but you can definitely use Target's free WiFi. At this time they are offering a Frappuccino Happy Hour: 3pm - 5pm, from May 3rd - 15th where you get half off on any Frappuccino! If you have a Target Red Card, you can save a little more! They brought back the S'mores Frapp and have a new flavor Caramel Waffle Cone. Both are pretty good! 4 / 5 - Frapps 4 / 5 - Service 4 / 5 - Cleanliness 4 / 5 - Overall

Mango iced tea shaken

This is a new Starbucks located inside Target. The last time I came here, it was a food court where they sold hot dogs, popcorn and drinks. It's been revamped as a Starbucks. I don't know when the change happened but I'm glad it did. As we walked in, my daughter and I were thirsty and as usual she wanted a cake pop. Selection of dessert items were scarce. I ordered a venti mango black iced tea shaken. I got my daughter an apple juice and a birthday cake pop. The lady taking my order was nice. I ended up paying with my Target master card. Service was fairly quick and the lady was the only one making drinks, so there was a slight wait. Once we got our drinks and cake pop, we sat down at a table where there were outlets to charge my cell phone. It takes the wires. Luckily I had mine with me. Cool place to chill. My mango iced tea was good. My daughter scarfed down her cake pop and drank her apple juice. There were customers just hanging out relaxing. I still miss this place being a food court but so glad it's a Starbucks.

This location recently opened up inside the Target store. When I stopped in to the Target store to grab some items, Starbucks is located right at the entrance of the store to the right hand side. Where the Target Cafe previously was located. They are still relatively new. I believe the barista told me that they have been open a week. Which is entirely possible since they can accept your Starbucks registered card and let you pay with your phone app. However this location is not set up the let you redeem rewards yet. I am sure that this will be an option in the future. It is remodeled and looks sleek compared to the Target Cafe that was in the store before. There were still boxes on the floor and the Starbucks was still setting things up, However they will were still grinding and brewing up the coffee. YAY!! My barista was still learning the cash register...and how to make drinks my PSL (Pumpkin Spice Latte was not quite up to par, it was heavy on the Pumpkin Spice Syrup) I am looking forward to the convenience of yet another Starbucks in my life!

Almond milk! Yay!

Great customer service, and a great retreat from Target! I went in today and added holiday slice to my latte macchiato.

We stopped by at around 8:20am today and there were only a few people in line. Service was welcoming and kind! They had an assortment of baked goods + empanadas as well as a great matcha/coffee menu. There's lots of seating for anyone who wants to hangout with friends or study. So awesome to see that they serve Nami (aashleyk's matcha brand). I ordered a chicken empanada, pan de elote, & an iced matcha cloud (less sweet & oat milk). Everything was absolutely DELISH. I'm pretty picky about my matcha, especially when it's in an Einspanner form. I loved the contrast between the sweet/salty cloud and the matcha itself! This place has their ratios down perfectly. Can't wait to come back (probably tomorrow)! 11/10.

The staff were awesome and super friendly. I got the Mia-mor Latte and a plain bagel with cream cheese, and both hit the spot. One major bonus: they only charge $0.50 extra for oat milk! Most other coffee shops charge $1.00 or more now, so that was a really nice surprise. They also gave me a stamp card for future visits, which I'll definitely be using. Will absolutely be back!

You can immediately tell this is a place built by people who genuinely love what they do. Wonderful staff, incredible hospitality, and a proud culture that deserves to be shared with the world. I absolutely love the fava bean open sandwich. I almost always go for the Arab cold brew, and their Karak is fantastic as well. The Turkish coffee is completely on point. I'm a huge fan. Places like this make many of us proud of our backgrounds, and I truly hope Finjan continues to grow into every corner of San Diego -- and eventually across the country.

I was on the hunt for a good early morning matcha and remembered how much I liked Finjan Coffee at…read moretheir Mission Valley location. It was so good I've recommended it to a bunch of people, so I decided to check out the original Kearny Mesa spot out of respect. In my head, the first location should be even better since that's where it started, but that wasn't the case at all and it ended up being pretty disappointing. I ordered online and it showed a 19 minute wait for just a drink, which felt long for around 6:30 in the morning. I placed it anyway, but when I got there the plaza was basically empty. It's in a quieter area near military and recruitment offices. My drink was already sitting at the pickup counter with my name on it, so I was in and out in seconds. There is some outdoor seating with music playing, which is nice, but I didn't stay long. I ordered the same matcha I got in Mission Valley because it was that memorable. The only difference was dairy milk instead of oat milk, but that shouldn't have changed it this much. The color was the first red flag. It was super light, almost pale green, instead of that bright vibrant green you expect from good matcha. You can usually tell quality just from that. The taste didn't match either. The Mission Valley one had a strong matcha flavor with a slight sweetness from the date syrup, and the knafeh cold foam pulled everything together. This one tasted weak and kind of flat. The cold foam was still good and tasted the same, but that's only a small part of the drink and not enough to save it. Now I'm honestly confused because I've been recommending this drink to people and if they came to this location first, their experience would be completely different. It just didn't live up to what I had before. I'll probably go back to the Mission Valley spot to see if that version is actually the standard, but this one left me pretty let down.

Tried a mix of savory and sweet: the Curry Pan was good but didn't totally wow me, while the chocolate, strawberry ribbon, and matcha croissants were all really solid -- especially because they weren't overly sweet. The surprise favorite was the caviar bread: salty, fishy, briny topping on crusty bread that somehow just worked SO well. We also split a croque monsieur which was warm, cheesy, and perfect to balance out all the pastries. I wish they had real cutlery (vs only plastic disposables) for dine in customers. Our family shared all these goodies and a plastic knife was no match for some of them. Overall, really good quality pastries and breads, worth the early lineup. I'd definitely come back to try the sandos (served started 11:30)

It's extra pretty if you add toppings like their super sweet mango. All of the scoops of ice cream were on the icier side but flavorful. Coconut was sweet and fantastically refreshing, while the taro was a bit more subtle but nutty and enjoyable. The vanilla was an old fashioned vanilla which was creamier than the other flavors but still definitely a bit icy. I would just get 3 scoops of coconut next time! The added mango on top was super sweet and soft, which contrasted drastically the meaty texture and very subdued flavor of the coconut pieces (maybe shouldn't have eaten it after that sweet mango!). They also have some unique Thai flavors of Lay's chips + special desserts (mango sticky rice, coconut pancakes, coconut pudding, etc.). I'd return for some more coconut ice cream and to try those special desserts! There are a few tables inside and more ornately decorated tables outside. No restrooms. Service was friendly. Fun little place to try new desserts, for a cute quick date, or grab and go for treats :)
