Came here on a Friday afternoon and wow--the service was absolutely amazing! I definitely had my doubts because I saw some bad reviews, but everyone I encountered was super friendly. The staff were even super friendly with each other, which was so nice to see. I ordered 2 Impossible sandwiches and a Tropical Butterfly Lemonade, and both were lovely! A Starbucks drive thru is always appreciated. I needed a lil pick me up before my grocery store run so swerved into the driveway, with 100 stars to blow. The line was non existent and I knew exactly what I needed. Ice Coffee, dbl blonde roast espresso and almond milk. Service was kind and efficient. They nailed the drink and I was pleased. Sometimes the simplest coffee drinks aren't given the same love as the more decadent versions at Starbucks but these baristas did not come to play. I didn't go inside this time but this is a location I'd return to. read more

The service here SUCKS!!! it has been like this for years and years. nobody wants to work. i put in a pick up order 10 minutes upon arrival and had to wait another 10 min for it to be made. i also heard one of the workers (with fair skin and orange/ginger hair) say to another "are you making this?" and the other worker responded (with tan skin and curly hair in a short ponytail) "absolutely not, i didn't even wanna make the first one". i am so sick of these people not wanting to work and then asking for a tip. luckily one person wanted to work, he was a tall dark skinned gentleman who could see i was bothered and asked what i was waiting for and made it immediately. please hire more competent workers!!!! read more

Extremely disappointed. I frequent this Starbucks often, but I have recently developed dietary restrictions due to illness and can not tolerate dairy. I ordered a falafel pocket, which is labeled "vegan" however after taking a few bites of the pocket I was given I realized I was given a jalapeño chicken pocket with CREAM CHEESE. Unfortunately, by the time I realized it was too late and my stomach was in shambles. As I was on my hour commute to work to a rural town in upstate NY there was no where I could go or anything I could do to make the situation better. Every visit seems to give me different results. I have been trying to wait to leave a review to figure it out. This visit was great. Maddie helped me figure out my life and what I wanted to order from me telling her what I liked and wanted. She was very patient and understanding of the coffee struggle. When you are spending $5 for a drink you want to love it. This time because it was hot out I got the cafe vanilla frappacino. Normally I get the vanilla bean frap with a shot of espresso but this version gives me a coffee base with still vanilla flavor. It was delish!! The effort that was put forth by this crew was memorable. I ordered at the counter and waited...while I looked around, a staff member zipped from behind the counter to the table where guests had gotten up and departed. She cleaned and sanitized the table, then put pieces of paper at each seat notifying approaching customers that the area had been sanitized and is now safe to sit at. Those little touches translate into going the extra mile - they are appreciated and may set a new standard. Keep it up! read more

Poughkeepsie has only 2 Starbucks locations, this is the one WITH the drive thru window, certainly that's worth an extra star. Nice staff at this location. Super weird around the building drive-thru window approach. I like Starbucks, I am not ashamed. Stopped by about a week ago after some shopping for thanksgiving food. The man who took our orders was a young, blonde guy with glasses. Our Frappuccino's tasted terrible and you could tell they were made in a rush. When he saw we were paying with a card he barely made any communication and dismissed us. He then tossed the card back at my mother saying "here". He was too busy talking to another employee with his back to us. My mother, who is always way to nice to people that don't deserve it, said thank you and have a great night-to which he didn't even acknowledge. Had a fly in my pumpkin cold brew on the bottom of the cup, not a small little bug, a medium sized fly, absolutely disgusting, this facility is so gross and this is not the first time that there has been reported bugs in drinks or the store from my friends, never going back to another starbucks ever again, customers spend tons of money on drinks and facilities cannot even be kept clean, this is an issue with starbucks management as a whole, extremely disappointing and very disrespectful to consumers, this specific location also has extremely unfriendly and sometimes rude employees, which is a very bad look for business, and everything about my experience with starbucks has been unprofessional, as if these people think their only market is to teenagers meanwhile driving away customers by making drinks carelessly and menu items constantly being out of stock, quit trying to be trendy and focus on running a business. read more

Those Strawberry açaí lemonade (NO BERRIES) really keep me hydrated for so much time.. literally could not ask for a better pink beverage. This morning I really wanted a coffee before I had my class like always, I put in a mobile order not looking at the location that it changed due to this one being closed for mobile orders. I called and I totally missed the woman's names but she was SOOOO nice and offered to make my order for me instead of going to the different location. I go to this Starbucks every morning before work or class and I am never disappointed by the customer service I always receive. Everyone is always so nice and happen and generous. Drive thru is extremely slow. They can't seem to handle more than one thing at a time. Constantly making people (including mobile orders!!!) wait at the speaker for upwards of 2 - 3 minutes before taking their order*. I often wait 15 - 20 minutes to pick up a mobile order. (Parking is often at a premium at this location, so I can't always park and come in.) *even as a mobile order customer I am often made to wait before letting them know I am picking up a mobile order. read more

I love NYC but the awesome thing about upstate Starbucks is that the staff is actually nice here. Post 5 mile race, I came here wearing my race bib and clothes. The cashier immediately started asking how the race was since so many other runners came through as well. Love this location and despite it's somewhat close proximity (7-10 minute drive from Vassar), there is always plenty of room to sit and study or read. During the warmer months there's 3-4 tables and chairs set up outside. Best part = drive through!!!! read more

As a daily Starbucks drinker/Gold Card holder, I have frequented many locations all over the country and Canada. This is my least favorite location in the world. Some people are nice, but many of the workers here have bad attitudes, particularly with regard to their interactions with certain minority groups. I have gone with people who live down the street (while visiting the area) and they refuse to purchase anything from this store. So...yea. They might want to work on that. I'd rather go to Barnes & Noble, Starbucks by Marist, Starbucks across from Barnes & Noble or the Cubbyhole...almost anywhere really, even though this one is so much more convenient. Also, horrible ambiance. I can't bear to stay here for more than 5 mins at a time. It tends to be clean though. But overall, no thanks. read more

Just went threw the drive threw at this location and the older blonde at the window was extremely rude!My Starbucks app showed a birthday reward and she proceeded to ague with me about not having one and insisted I use my stars to pay for my drink. I called Starbucks costumer service and in fact DID have a birthday reward. I'm here every morning. They never miss a beat. The people who work the drive thru are amazingly friendly and I truly mean that. It's just the right amount of friendly for my 6AM self. I've been coming here for a year and they have never botched my order. My drinks and food are always prepared for my liking. The coffee here is just great. It is like a regular Starbucks: same décor, same menu, order your drinks/food, sit if you need to hang out and tip your barista. The baristas at that location are very friendly, the friendliest baristas that I have met. It is a very busy location. Therefore, if you can, use the mobile app and your order will be ready by the time you get there. You can even ask for your mobile order in the drive-thru. read more

Ordered 2 green tea lattes in drive thru, was not asked if hot or iced. They gave us hot when we wanted iced. We appologized and felt bad, but spending 10$ on 2 drinks, we wanted it right. The girl at drive thru hessitated at first then told us to drive around front. The guy gave us a dirty look when bringing the drinks out. We didnt get an apology or even a smile. We were very polite to then and in turn, given bad attitudes. I understand its annoying that they needed to remake our drinks, but they didnt bother to ask which we wanted and thats part of the job (I work in the coffee industry aswell). Not only that, but this particular starbucks doesnt seem to know how to properly make a green tea latte. Both times we have gone there, there has been chunks of matcha on the top of the drink. I know that it can be made without chunks of matcha floating around. All around disappointed with this Starbucks. Wont be returning. read more

Only one review?! All Starbucks are not created equal. I frequent 5 different Starbucks over the course of one week. This one, the one on RT9 and then three different ones in NYC. This particular Starbucks is always clean and well maintained. The people working behind the counters all always really nice and good at what they do. Literally the worst Starbucks experience I've ever had I ordered the butterscotch latte off the secret menu literally HELD MY PHONE UP SO THEY COULD SEE AND EVEN TOLD THEN IT IS A HOT LATTE and after waiting FOREVER for the only TWO people in front of me to get their order (because APPARENTLY the drive thru is more important) I got a ice latte with NO straw....rather than dealing with that wait again I just accepted the ice latte but I still had NO straw so I went where you order to ask for one and the lady walked away to get allllllll the orders for the drive thru out because again they are Gods and we are peasants I finally got a straw read more

I have been a customer of this particular store since 2012. I have to say, I'm quite with the level of service as of late. The drive-person gives incorrect information and screws up the order and makes no effort to correct it. I've had to drive to the other one on North Road because of this. There were always regulars who did the work and did it well, but it's the new people whose customer service is completely lacking acting as if they could not care less that the order and the wait times are horrible. read more

I just left this starbucks to go to the Panera next door because of the people that inhabit this particular starbucks. A group of over 10 men speaking very loudly took over the place and it was impossible to think, let along, get any work done. These men seem to live at this starbucks in particular, both inside and out, and though I am a die hard starbucks fan, tonight i was pushed over the edge by their rude, loud behavior and moved next door to Panera for some good hot soup, and peace and quiet.
