Love this starbucks location! I've been coming a lot recently since I got gift cards from the holidays. They whip out your drink super fast after a mobile order, and whenever I go the employees are super friendly! They have made mistakes on my orders like not adding cold foam but were always happy to make the adjustment once I pointed it out. No drive thru, btw. But there is a small parking lot next to it and lots of street parking available nearby. read more

I have spent many a countless hours here at this location while back in college . It was close to my house and provided good opportunity to get a walk in and spend some time studying in a different location . Clean ,spacious and fast service, Plenty of natural light and lots of seating .They have a good number of plug points which is a necessity if you intend to work/study . The store has some limited seating outdoor and is great for people watching . I find that its good spot to grab a quick beverage if you are running errands around 23rd or just browsing . Its proximity to the street car , shops and restaurants makes it pretty popular . The drinks are on point and the service is mostly good . read more

I have had my Starbucks gold card almost 12 years. This means that I am one of their most loyal and frequent customers. I love Starbucks coffee and am often willing to overlook their bad customer service in order to get that precious beverage. No matter how much I want or need my Starbucks, I would never visit this location again. First star came off because they were sold out of half the holiday drinks and it's only 2 days after Christmas. Second star came off when the cashier got a bit cold because I didn't want my name on the cup and then I received my drink after all the people in line after me had gotten theirs. Third star came off when my drink was served to me with a layer of foam even though I had requested NO FOAM. The label on my cup even stated NO FOAM. Two stars remain for my drink tasting fine, even though it had foam.....and I hate foam. read more

It's Starbucks, it's consistent for the most part other than the occasional burnt coffee. The food is high end prepackaged but still good. I really enjoyed my cinnamon honey latte. I wish I was given my morning bun, but instead when I finally get the chance to eat it I found out I was given a plan dry crossiant. That was slightly upsetting but not enough to drag myself back to the Pearl to right this injustice. I highly recommend you look in the bag prior to leaving, even if it is Sunday and you just are too tired for that kind of work. read more

I really enjoy this particular location. They're quick with custom orders. They're quick in general. I can always find parking which completely blows my mind! The inside is large and accommodating and quiet even when busy. The only reason I did not put 5 stars is because I go in daily but seem to always see different faces? Not necessarily a bad thing but in this case they're usually in training. Very good place to have a quick business meeting or a non alcoholic Tinder date... which would incredibly awkward in my opinion Update.. from 4 stars to 1. Guys working wanted to call out the drink and not the name given at the register. So I heard skinny mocha called... grabbed it, sipped it. Turns out it was Robert's skinny mocha. He was pissed. John and the other barista were mad at me?! Not my fault bruh! Say the name and not drink. There's protocols put into place to avoid Robert getting mad at Peter and Peter getting mean mugged by John and co because I heard my identical order called... On 8/9/2024, I was assaulted by a homeless person whom Starbucks at 1012 NW 21st Portland, Oregon, was allowing to pace the front patio area in psychosis. When I addressed this assault to them, as it was on their property, all they would do was hand me their phone to call the police. The police arrived, and I turned down any arrest of the person with charges and agreed with their suggestion that he move on. The police checked with management, and they asked the same. The person moved 3 feet off the property and continued to be belligerent, making no sense. My general comment here is that many people are allowed to loiter at this store inside and out, not having bought anything or following any common social respect and context rules. Starbucks made no effort to help or get involved; they did not remove the person to begin with and served them after the assault until the police arrived. In general, I have found the staff to be friendly and wanting to help, but in this instance, they failed profusely. Two other people called the police, one inside Starbucks and one on the Max rail line. read more

This is definitely our favorite Starbucks and I've been around to all the local locations. Everyone greets us by name when we come in and always seem happy to be there. My toddler loves to say hi and make a big exit! She stands at the door and waves/says goodbye and everyone says goodbye back. They really know how to make every visit special. Much the same applies, several years later. Gender neutral restrooms and the latest Starbucks decor. Open until early evening but no beer or wine here. Today's double chocolate bread dried out on one cake side and the frosting looked oxidized from being in the pastry case too long. But, the location is so good I'll forgive it this time. read more

It's Starbucks. The staff is pretty courteous and they make the coffee right about 88% of the time. I usually stop here because I'm waiting between meetings in the area. They need more outlets - heck, they need outlets for the customers to use period. They do have pretty nice outdoor seating and a parking lot though. Free parking lot with big spaces for gas guzzlers like my Prius, smile, in the Nob Hill neighborhood. I like to stop by here on the way out of town for a hot cup of Joe(TM) with whipped cream (cafe con panna). Plenty of seats and I can hear my companion talk. Restrooms open to all. read more

I have been going to Starbucks long enough to remember when they were still a 'cool' new place to go to. And, grande Mocha's were $2.25. I still go to a lot of them, as I'm loyal to places that not only have a consistently good product (or will make it good, if it's not) - but also because of the service and the personal attention they give. Some Starbucks have a lot of 'faking' going on. People put on a nice smile and say the right things, but when their backs are turned to you and they think you have stepped away, they say really mean things about you or adulterate your drink just because they can- or maybe because they don't want to have to open another container of something- I've seen it and heard it happen at several over the years. But, this location, is the only Starbucks that I can say I honestly have never had anything bad said about me, had my drink 'forged' to move me through the line faster because they were busy, changed my drink order to make it easier to make or because they simply didn't want to go and open another container of something so close to closing, and the list goes on. Trust me, I've seen it all. And, talked to a lot of District Managers in the last 20 years, too. THIS LOCATION IS THE ONLY ONE WHERE I HAVE NEVER HAD THIS OR ANY TYPE OF PROBLEM COME UP. The people are sincerely genuine and nice. They are glad to be there and if they are having a rough day, they are honest with you about it. They don't lie to your face, get mad at you for asking how their day is and then screw up your drink on purpose because their life is crappy. I don't know what it is with this location- it's like it's built on ancient ruins of good fortune or something. I love this location and it's the only one I always feel comfortable going into. I keep promising myself I'll never go back, but circumstances keep taking my me back. My main problem with this Starbucks - and I have gone to many - is that they have never had my mobile order ready when I've arrived to pick it up. Not once. In fact, they are not even aware of my order having been made. I've tried FIVE TIMES now. I send mobile orders through to other Starbucks all the time, so I know that I'm doing it right. But the baristas at this Starbucks always act like they haven't received my order. I don't know if the mobile order is sent to the barista or the cashier, but usually once I explain that I have a mobile order, the barista is able to find it somewhere in the store. I've even varied the amount of time between making my order and arriving. But it makes no difference! What's the point of using the mobile feature if it doesn't work? I probably wouldn't give only a 1-star review if the mobile feature were my only problem, but some of the staff working the register have been so incompetent that I thought it might have been their first day. They don't know answers to questions like "Can that be made with decaf?" And they just don't have that capability and professionalism I've come to expect at a Starbucks. In all of this, I keep wondering about the store manager. Where is this person and do they know what's going on in their store? read more
