When you're in downtown New York or San Francisco, you can be forgiven for getting queasy at the sight of another Starbucks. When you're passing Patterson on the I-5 at 10pm, however, the drive through Starbucks provides an oasis of good coffee and pleasant service that you won't otherwise find for 30 miles in either direction. YEEESSSSSS!!!!! we originally stopped at the Santa Nella exit off the I-5.. horrible mistake, heading north this was one not too far after and I'm super happy to have found it. The customer service was on point, with more customers inside and in the drive thru than the other location. Our food was hot, fresh and delicious. Drinks perfectly made. All out of trenta cups, rude service, I was in the drive thru for TWENTY minutes, upon pulling up to the window I still had to wait at least 5 minutes for my last drink. There is something terrifyingly reassuring about finding a Starbucks in the middle of pastureland, existing solely upon the legions of drivers that pass through the area. I've stopped at this one before, and I like the Patterson Starbucks simply by virtue of its thoughtful staff, easy location, and the reassurance of soulsucking corporate chains when tired and driving across the state. On our way down to Los Angeles, we decided to stop off at this Starbucks for our first pit stop. Walking inside, out of the cold, it was a very warm, reassuring, uplifting feeling. The warmth fills you with energy and reinvigoration to keep driving and staying awake. By this time, it was nearing 9pm, and if you know the trip from the Bay Area to LA, this stop is merely a chip on the surface of our travels. We ordered a Green Tea Latte... with non-fat milk. What was served? Green Tea Latte, with WHOLE milk. So... how do you go from requesting non-fat milk to receiving whole milk? Obviously, someone missed the bill and seemed to have forgotten / disregarded / dismissed everything on this order. Well, they were nice, at least. They greeted us when we got to the counter with smiles, and they thanked us for stopping by when we were leaving. Ultimately, because of the whole milk ordeal, the drink ended up being far too viscous, thereby reducing the overall enjoyment factor. Bummer. read more

This is the most disgusting, dirtiest place ever ! First I walked in there is literally trash right in front of the entry way over flowing , I'm thinking maybe just a rush ? Fine then I decide to use the restroom been on a long road trip ., I walked in this bathroom and it's more dirty then a 24 hr gas station on the side of the road ! I stepped in someone's piss ! Love Starbucks, but not this one. Orders have been wrong, customer service needs improvement. Some baristas show professionalism but some, need corporate re-training. Does this location have management? You think they would take pride and have outstanding service because of their location and the only Starbucks within 30 mi. Drive through is so amazingly slow I now actually use a stopwatch and keep record of how long each visit takes. 7,8,10 minute waits are common with only 1-3 cars in front of me (who already ordered!). About a month ago, I was almost to 13 minutes in and had been sitting at the window for 1.5 minutes waiting for my black iced coffee with no acknowledgement from the window server. She was standing right there! I tapped on the chrome sill several times, but no response from inside... And I DROVE AWAY. Starbucks needs to do something about the management here, and yes I have provided feedback on their site. What happened to me today is even funnier!! I've never had an issue ordering my drink in a Venti cup with extra ice... This guy tells me because I wanted an extra espresso shot he has to charge me for a Venti macchiato... During road trips, you sometimes need a good coffee to keep you alert. I was happy to find a Starbucks located in the middle of nowhere during our drive. We stopped in and were immediately greeted by a manager taking out the trash, before we even stepped foot into the building. Inside, I was approached again by an employee and asked if I needed help with anything. These guys really were on top of their service game. I ordered my classic iced americano and also browsed their nice wall of items. From the wall, I grabbed a refresher as well- always a safe bet for a crisp juice-like drink at Sbux. All in all, this is a good place to stop on the stretch from SF to LA and I would not mind making it a designated rest area for future travels. read more

The staff here get a four stars, or maybe even five. (They are pretty darn friendly.) It has a super convenient location near the freeway and a drive-through, if you're into that kind of thing. For the coffee (and it is a coffee shop...), I tend to prefer Blues in the downtown. I'm not quite sure why is Starbucks so 'into' their Pike's Place Roast? It's truly awful coffee! This is a hard one to rate for me. Some days the service is fantastic and super fast and I can get through the drive through in 5 minutes. However, more often than not, the line is wrapped around the building and I leave because I know I don't have 15-20 minutes to wait in line. It is absolutely staff related. When Kayla is working, my order is perfect and ready for me long before I make it to the window. I actually get excited when I hear her voice on the intercom because I know everything will go smoothly. Today, I've been sitting in line for 9 minutes and I just barely placed my order. Clearly no Kayla today. :( I would give Kayla 5 stars but I had to knock one off for the constant and guaranteed wait when she isn't here. If she was never here, is probably only give 2-3 stars. This location is always busy because it is right off the freeway, but the barista's are always busting their butts to make sure the drinks get out in the correct order. People need to learn to be patient if you are going into a busy location. Awful... We asked for 3 simple caramel crunch frap... And got a very tasteless coffee that just had caramel drizzled on top, with no caramel crunch on top. Hell hath no fury like a 34 year old college student trying to get an assignment finished on a Sunday evening while driving 10 hours to get home in the same day. My husband and I stopped in to get coffee at 9:00pm (store hours are listed on the door- clearly open to 10:00). After sitting down to my laptop and working for 20 minutes, the staff turned out the lights on us! Not a one courteous word or "hey guys, our store is closing" was spoken by the young and clearly rude staff. My husband asked a young man behind the counter about the lights to which he replied "oh, the drive thru stays open until 10:00 but the store closes at 9:30." I realize that these teenage workers probably wanted to get home but customer service and basic communication skills are needed. read more

After all of the thousands of times I've been to this particular Starbucks I have only encountered 1 friendly barista. Jeanette should be employee of the month!
