This was the longest and most infuriating experience I've ever had at this Starbucks. Empty cafe on a Saturday and I ordered three drinks (one hot coffee, one iced coffee, and a latte) and it took over 22 minutes to get. Four staff members working a Starbucks and it took 22 minutes to make three drinks. Just the worst annoying experience. Not only that but I watched the big tall guy record videos of them laughing and splashing water at the sink. Drinks were fine but it's just crazy to wait this long and watch staff just ignore orders. This is the Starbucks location closest to my house. It gets busy at rush hours, you know, morning between 7:30 to 8:30 lunch and dinner times as well the afternoon hours between 2:30 to 4:00 due to the school kids hanging around. Other than that it can be enjoyable to sit down. I usually do an app purchase because it's just so much faster and easier. I recently just came here and really loved the matcha I got. My two friends also got their drinks fast through the app and liked what they got too. Were the staff friendly? We think so though they are all teenagers still building social skills and they need some time to get used to smiling at people their parents age or even talking to them a bit like they enjoy the conversations. Give them some time! I am happy they are working hard. I have a teen daughter who worked in a busy cafe and got some tough experiences so I can relate. Ordered a drink here through the drive through, and they used coffee instead of tea for my matcha latte. I had to go inside which was annoying to ask them to make it the right way, which meant waiting for 15 minutes even though it takes less than 3 to make the drink. This Starbucks location has a lot of pluses, including tons of indoor and outdoor seating, very friendly staff that make customers feel welcome, and plenty of parking in this sleepy strip mall location. There is also the convenience of a drive-thru, however, it's worth noting that the queue is very small and tight to maneuver, so be warned those with large vehicles or lack of drivability confidence. The vibe is light with some great easy-listening music throughout and the restrooms are clean and do not require a password. read more

I'm not usually a big coffee drinker, but I was up super early visiting family, so this place just called my name. Normally, I do mobile orders and pick up in-store, but today I decided to try the drive-through, and it was smooth and efficient. It was freezing outside, so instead of my usual caramel Frappuccino, I went for a hot mocha, and it was absolutely delicious. This has never been my favorite Starbucks, but I definitely have noticed some improvements. In the past, most of the time when I ordered any type of sandwich it would be freezing cold in the center. In the last year or so, I noticed my food always comes out super hot. I also used to receive a lot of watery frappuccinos, which rarely happens now. I specifically came to write a review for the adorable barista who was so proud to present me my drink that she made. I'm not doing well with caffeine these days, so I got a frappuccino with no caffeine. While I've had the strawberry frappuccino before, this was my first time ordering it with extra strawberry pureé. The presentation was beautiful and I wish I caught the barista's name so I could write it here! I went in around 8:15 AM on 03/08/2025 and she was definitely young (early 20s at the oldest), with dark hair. I thought it was so wholesome; how proud she was of her creation. I hope a manager and/or regional manager finds this. The staff is nice and the drinks are good. But, the place is a mess. Anytime an employee has nothing to do, they should be out cleaning tables and sweeping the floor. I know it's busy with drive-thru, but I've spent a lot of time here, and there are moments where the car line slows down and there's no orders being taken at the counter. I get the feeling Starbucks is focusing on drive thru because that's where the revenue is. But, the comfort and enjoyment of patrons are being ignored. Absolutely incredible Starbucks. They really care about those coming into their cafe and their drive thru. You sometimes run into a bit longer of wait times when the surrounding schools are all going to Starbucks. It isn't the fault of Starbucks or the baristas that you stopped for a coffee and didn't get it as quickly as you'd like. The baristas are very friendly, they don't feel like cookie cutter employees that many companies create. They have personality and remember small details about their community members. Had to give a shout out to Mia, who took great care of me about 3:30 this afternoon. Big smile, balancing multiple orders in a seemingly effortless manner. I watched while she drizzled a generous amount of caramel on a Caramel Macchiato and I wondered if it was mine. It was!! This is my local Starbucks and it's a great place to hang out on the patio and drink my iced shaken oat milk latte. I do miss the brûlée sprinkles. I always order here because of the drive thru. It's convenient. However, lately every time I ordered my cup is a mess. Caramel dripping on the side, or the cup has caramel stain all around the cup and it look messy. One time when I picked up my order thru the drive thru I did not notice that there was caramel dripping on the side. When I drove off and I picked up my cup to have a drink, my hands were all sticky and since I was driving, my steering wheel were all sticky. I just feel that they should be careful when making the coffee and when they hand the coffee to the customer that it should be presentable. read more

Starbucks generally has been going downhill for a while, but this Starbucks in particular just continues to disappoint. I understand that they've been having supply shortages, but if that's the case they need to just slim down their menu. Otherwise, you wait in line for 20 minutes only to be told what you want isn't available. Or, if you're me, you're super excited to get your weekend violet drink and end up with coconut milk with a little bit of syrup because they're out of blackberries but didn't tell you. Unfortunately, not much has changed. I went in yesterday morning around 6am hoping for a different experience (years later). The floors were covered with filth and my shoes stuck to them with every step I took causing my stomach to turn. The windows and glass doors covered with fingerprints and remnants of sticky, sweet snacks from days past. The countertops and tables had crumbs and glass rings from the sweat of glasses which I suspect were also from the day before. The bakery containers were empty, and there was packaged snack strewn about the top of the bakery case all waiting to be placed in their spot inside. The two staff members, already frantic (but kind) trying to keep up with the drive-through, early morning walk-in's, and the overwhelming amount of stocking that needed to be done. Obviously understaffed, they were visibly trying to make the best of the bad situation. I can really get past most all of this, I mean, not the taking advantage of employees part, but the filth... that's the part that really gets me. It's so disheartening. Who/where is the manager? The health department should really go out and take a look because I suspect what we can't see is as filthy as what we can see. read more

Great location and nice decor, the problem w this location boils down to staffing/training. You've got way too many teenagers working there and the level of effort they bring to the job is insufficient to keep things running smoothly during busy times. When I roll in there are always 5-6 orders unclaimed at the pickup area. They just sit there. Staff makes little effort to call the names out for pickup and when they do, it's in a mousy 'I can't be bothered' sort of tone. Yesterday I ordered an ice coffee, not a pour over or special drink, just a boring ice coffee. I waited over 20 minutes, standing right by the pickup area. No one ever called my name. When I was fed up and walked over to the register for a refund, the barista looked through the drinks waiting for pickup and low and behold. There was my drink. No one called my name, or anyone else's for that matter, as evidenced by the 8 other abandoned drinks racing towards room temperature. Baristas should be empowered to make the easy drinks like ice coffee and drip without waiting for the 10 Frappuccino's in front of them. While there, they only had one register open, but the amount of people waiting should have warranted two. There were plenty of staff on hand, but only 3 actually working. One at the register and two making drinks. The other THREE staff that I saw coming and going from the back, were just there to watch and socialize. They had one guy who's job was to just stand at the drive through window and wait for a barista to hand him a drink, which he would then pass through the window. This guy could have been making drinks, helping with overflow, but nope, he just stood there handing drinks through the window at the rate of about 1 drink every 4-5 minutes. read more

I'll be clear: I have really enjoyed this location for a while now. But I have to admit, it seems the staffing here over the last months, has gone downhill. It seems like there are no seasoned "veteran" Starbucks employees (which I've noticed sets the tone for good attitude and workflow) at this store. Even 6 months ago, the staff was friendly and customer-oriented, and more or less working hard to get drinks out fast. I've worked in food service industry, and so I'm aware of things like anticipating customer needs, taking initiative, courtesy and friendliness. Unfortunately I don't see much of these when I come into the store nowadays. When things are busy, it seems that employees just defer to the "someone else will do it" tactic, without any communication. So someone will be standing at the register waiting, and multiple employees will make eye contact, but not acknowledge and apologize and inform the customer that someone will be there shortly. They simply move on. The same goes for customers waiting at the drink counter. There should be some acknowledgement, even while an employee is multitasking, so that the customer doesn't feel like this company just wants their money and as soon as that money's been handed over, they go ignored. It seems that employees are more concerned about communicating with each other casually while working, and that inhibits focus on the customer. Again like I said, I have really enjoyed this store, but the team and/or work attitude currently here, is causing there to be a significant dip in efficiency and customer satisfaction. read more

My go -to location. Staff is pleasant and service is quick- despite all the surrounding schools! My only con is that darn curb coming off the drive thru: I know I need to hold my wheel ridiculously straight and to NEVER exit right- but in the beginning I sure did mess up my expensive rims- as my natural inclination would be to exit right. I park my car while 10 people are sitting in their cars in the drive up. I am almost always the only person inside, greeted immediately and my coffee is always ready and right! EMILY Absolutely makes this store special for me! There are a lot of special people at the store, including Astrid, Matt and so many more friendly faces. But she definitely takes the cake for me. She is super personable and friendly, always goes out of her way to say hi and chat. I am pregnant and have been obsessed with lemon loaves and she has made it a point to pick the one with the icing for me. Special things like that make me choose this Starbucks over the 1700 other ones so thank you to the team and shout out to my girl for being so sweet you make a big difference. read more

I live right up the street so I'm here quite often. I'm not quite sure why I keep coming back because every third time I come there is always something wrong with my order. Today I went through the drive-through only to be asked to wait for about five minutes when there were only two cars in front of me, and then when I got home with my breakfast it was incorrect! Also, it doesn't look like this location's business is suffering at all through Covid and yet this location doesn't look like it belongs in Oak Park. This location is hit or miss. Several times I've ordered non-dairy milk in my drink, to then get dairy milk (which I can't have as I am lactose intolerant). The employees seem to be kind humans who care about customer service but I think there needs to be better understanding / training of the implication of making incorrect drinks (dairy vs non - dairy). For many people like me, it's not just a random thing to order, they actually can't have dairy due to their health. One recommendation is to continue displaying back the order on the screen in the drive thru. I hardly ever see it listed anymore when I order, and have received incorrect orders. This would likely help improve accuracy so customers can see if the barista heard them wrong. That or re-stating the order back to the customer. As a side note, I've also ordered "light ice" and gotten an entire cup full of ice at least 3-4 times. This leaves no more than a few sips of drink. For the amount paid per drink, this is frustrating because there would be no reason to fill the entire cup with ice to the top under any circumstance, so why does this happen when the order specifies it to be light ice ? I'm not sure. Attention to detail and ensuring order accuracy can be improved. read more
