Yeah my girl had a lot of fun here. Being that this is a college town somewhat. This made the atmosphere more fun and comforting. Lots of police hang out at this Starbucks too folks, so do not think about committing crimes here, or doing something you might regret. Anyways, we were in town for one of my business meetings, and decided to go for some coffee and bagels. I got my usual tall coffee with cream cheese and all. This company has slipped so much from its original mission and standards that it is unrecognizable. Traditionally, Starbucks was a place where adults would find a calm peaceful place to relax and have a coffee. Now it is a fast-paced, in-and-out, poorly- conceived teenage hangout. The music is cranked to ten, ubiquitous pop, the lines are long, the service is very slow (unless you are at the drive through) and they microwave their gummy bagels. Toasted would take too long. Also, the last straw is you can't pay without pressing "No Tip" on the device that the employee (who would presumably be receiving the tip) is holding in their hand. Corporate mess. So yes, I am reviewing yet another fast food place. Here's the thing though; Starbucks is one of the only big names I have perennially been a customer of! Usually I would go to the one over in Wilton, but ever since I have started coming to church in New Haven, I have become a repeat customer for this location. Now, if you had Starbucks anywhere in Connecticut then you know what to expect when placing your order here. But what I happen to love enough to award it another star is that this has become a second-to-none place to study thanks to those long tables! It allows me some peace to work through my training classes and I can't come here enough! It's 4 stars though because that's the only thing about this location that stands out. Fantastic! Along with all the usual delicious Starbucks drinks, there are nice tables and areas for studying. Also, surprisingly it wasn't super crowded the times I came here. However one thing to watch out for is that some of the chairs on the sides are "connected" in terms of furniture so whenever someone else gets up/sits down or even just shifts their weight your own chair might come up or down..that was indeed quite distracting when it happened. read more

I can't believe how terrible this Starbucks is! We got there at 7:15, 15 minutes before closing, and guess what? The bathrooms were already closed. My 3-year-old needed to go, and it's just infuriating that they shut down essential facilities before their supposed closing time. My husband and I stopped in this location on our way to Vermont. It's a rather large Starbucks, along what seems to be the main strip in this college town. It was clean and well staffed... the cashiers and baristas were all very friendly in what appeared to be a rather busy location. They made my drink and it tasted just as I expected. Because we were on a road trip, we also used he restrooms - they were clean enough and at least there wasn't a huge line. If I were to complain about anything, it was just a little slower than I would have liked, but overall was a fine experience. We also really thought the town itself seemed neat and will probably be back for a visit to the area read more

This is a solid Starbucks option. Not a whole lot to really make it stand out. You'll have to pay for parking if you're driving as it's in downtown NH. But it's uber convenient if you're in and around the Yale area. There is plenty of seating and it makes for a cozy place to sip on your drink. read more

the middle-aged woman behind the register (wearing a mask today) has a notorious attitude among students here. came here multiple times having this lady rolling her eyes, sighing towards customers and today shouting at my face because i said pardon first time after she mumbled a few words in a loud and crowded store during the morning. I have been ignoring these behaviors thinking maybe it was just one of those days for her, but now it's pretty clear she is just an AH. nobody should be treated like this in the morning. The morning crew is spot on. They have a great system. I drop my son off at school order on the mobile app and pull up to a parking space, run in a grab my coffee. The weekly team members are friendly and have a system that runs smoothly with good communication during super busy times. The customers are pretty happy too! read more

I personally didn't have the greatest time at this location. There are a lot of coffeeshop options near it, which I probably should have chosen. I placed my order and the service was friendly, but I had to wait much longer for my drink here than I usually do anywhere else. The lady preparing my drink also spilled all around the cup and just put napkins around it before handing it to me instead of pouring it into another cup or wiping it down appropriately like I've seen baristas do at other locations. I stopped in here for a meeting with a friend to go over some pictures from a recent photo shoot. The only time I have ever walked into a Starbucks was to use the restroom up in Chicopee Massachusetts. I am completely blown away on the type of environment I walked into. Everyone sitting down on laptops with headphones in their ears. Needless to say it was fun people watching until my friend showed up. This is a good Starbucks around the Yale campus. Everyone that works here is super sweet and courteous. The drinks are well made and the service is great. Some downfalls are that theirs no parking. It's usually very busy, crowded, and stuffy. Also, it's a little loud if you want to get work done or really need to focus. They have limited restrooms which may not be the cleanest. This is my favourite store of Starbucks in New Haven. It is located in front of the Yale Art Gallery and you can contemplate the view of that building from the window, enjoying a coffee. It's a calm and quiet place, usually full of students working in their laptops, but it is not that difficult to find a sit. The service is really good, always kind and attentive. Just curious if Starbucks makes it general practice to yell at their customers and embarrass them when you come to pick up your order. This was your run of the mill Starbucks located within a city. The bathrooms have codes on them assumingely so people can't go in and shoot up. I only ran in quick to get a chocolate milk and water for the kiddos I was with so I can't really review the coffee or baked goods but I assume it was regular Starbucks quality. read more

AWFUL! Almost always understaffed and when they have more employees than normal they are just standing around talking to each other. Waited 23 minutes for my order this AM with 6 employees here. And when I asked where my order was they were rude about it. I hate that this is the only Starbucks downtown. Unlike every other Starbucks I frequent, and yes I go everyday, usually to Cheshire one on my way to work (fantastic), the employees here are super rude and always running behind. I can understand that part, being busy sure, but they always give you an attitude! There have been other issues but what prompts this review, today I was told to not grab my coffee until the second was ready? Why does that matter? Its not an issue at any other Starbucks. It's mine LOL, worry about making the rest of the coffees for people who are annoyingly waiting! The point of a mobile order is you see it and you grab it, I don't understand why I was reprimanded when those seconds could be spent moving the waiting line along. 07461 - that's the bathroom code. I mobile ordered from here, left with my drink, all was fine. I came back later, drink still in hand, to use the restroom. I saw there was a long line of about 6 people at the cash register which I did not think it was necessary for me to wait in just to get the bathroom code. So, I approached the barista at the other end and nicely asked "hi, can I ask what the code to the restroom is?" "You can go ask her at the register okay?" She responded (woman w turquoise glasses). So, I, a customer who had already paid, waited in line for about 7 more minutes just to use the bathroom. In the time it took to condescendingly redirect me to the register, she could have just given me the code which she doubtless knows. Further, only one of two restrooms at this establishment works as they have taped up a sign saying "Restroom closed" on one of the doors, which the employees proceed to go in and out of to use their own toilet. I don't think it's worth it to annoy customers and add this hassle all to protect the sanctity of the Starbucks restrooms. read more

This location is in the heart of downtown New Haven right near Yale's campus. The vibe is always laid back and chill. Students on their laptops, professionals stopping by for their web orders and professors taking a break. Staff is fast, efficient and keeps things pretty neat and clean. Nearby is the Yale Art Gallery and Yale Repertory Theater. Across the street is the British Art Museum. I do iced coffee year round and can say with confidence ( and certainty) they get it right every time. Don't let one asshole in Philly ruin it for all the other cafes. Starbucks wanted to discuss race and somehow the ball got dropped. My hat's off to the CEO for really attempting to make a difference. read more

What I like about this Starbucks particularly is that the space is large with plenty of outlets, proximity to my home and that b/c it is an international chain I can my credit card or better yet my app to purchase drinks/food. This is not the case at certain other local coffee shops that don't take credit cards if less than $5.
