I ordered a Dopio espresso machiato and for clarification said "it's two shots of espresso and foam. Please don't add milk." When I picked it up, it was a small cup of milk. I nicely asked her to have it remade and repeated the instructions. She left and came back and handed me what I believe was the same drink, a small cup of milk. I don't even think she was listening. First if all i ordered two matches and I have never tasted any other matcha this bad. I have gotten better matcha from 7-11's Japanese isle than this. I know a lot of people are anti-i.c.e but they don't mean this kind of ice why did they only put three cubes in my drink?! Update: We have been at this location quite often. They almost always have the lobby closed (as seen in the photo I took)!!! What the heck?! Why bother staying open at all? Why have hours posted, if they are going to be ignored? If staffing is such an issue that all the employees "call-in sick" at once, or so often that it become routine, maybe this Starbucks (H street/Shops at Lincoln School) shouldn't be open at all?! The ambiance is terrible, people begging for change or hanging out front with all their belongings. Not a very welcoming environment. The drinks and banana nut bread are good. Really disappointed today. I wasn't feeling the best and decided to cheer myself up and get a drink and I might as well get that blueberry muffin that I've been wanting for a long time. I don't get Starbucks often as it's expensive and very sugary. However I decided to give it a shot this morning. I ordered it by my house and it said it would be ready in 3-6 minutes, I drive up to the Starbucks quickly and pull up to the speaker. Employee "how may I help you?" Me "I placed a mobile order for NAME" Employee "that was placed 2 minutes ago" Me "...yeah" Employee "we will start working on it" Me "okay thank you!" I then pull up to the window where I can see the lady working on my drink. She hands me the drink and says "here" and closes the window. She continues to stand there looking at me through the window like she's waiting for me to leave. She opens it after a minute of silence and says "can I help you?" I said "yes the other half of my order please" REMINDER: the muffin is the main reason I ordered. She says "hmph" and turns to grab it, IT WAS ALREADY IN A BAG WITH THE ORDER STICKER ON IT! She hands it to me, to which I say "thank you" and she gives me a nasty look and closes the window. Everything in my order was correct and given to me eventually. The muffin was warm and tasted very good! My drink was very sweet but just what I asked for! I just have to hope that lady find her peace. It's a shame to have such negative energy at 6:20AM! The best way to get drinks here is to order on the app and pick it up, the drinks are usually ready in 5-10 minutes. The drive-thru and parking situation can be chaocotic in the morning. If you'd like to enjoy a cup of coffee inside, it depends on your luck whether you will be sharing the same space with some homeless people. I've been here in the morning (usually more busy), around lunch time and afternoon for the past month. I've seen homeless people about 5 out of 15 times. read more

I have always came here and have never been disappointed! I've even been here a few times without buying anything in an effort to do art, and they still gifted me drinks and amazing service! This used to be my "go-to" location, virtually every day. But things REALLY went downhill fast a few months ago. There seems to have been a big change in staff, and now the drive-through lines are SOOO LONG, service is SOOO SLOW, and nowhere near as friendly or professional. I've had so many bad coffees from here.today was no exception. This is a warning to check your order before leaving...always! I ordered Grande vanilla latte with extra shot of espresso and extra hot. They were out of every food item I requested except for the double cheddar sandwich..so I decided on substitutes to take home for my family..a little over $15 plus i left a cash tip of 3 bucks. The latte was awful. I immediately asked the cashier to.add sweetener and foam.there was NO FOAM at all. Since it was after noon and I'd been up all night with a sick kid, I was anxious to drink coffee. I should have mentioned that I felt like they never even added the extra shot. It tasted like dish water. I have only asked for an additional shot once before. So I know I would be able to tell at least some difference with that extra coffee shot. The latte was so tall I couldn't stir in the sugar packs they provided. After asking for foam I got about a teaspoon of it. The extra hot request was also ignored. It was barely warm. I recommend going to Giaccomos coffee but just down the street. It's always right and less expensive. I didn't go there because my family wanted muffins ..I was an idiot for not returning the entire order. Two stars are for fast service and a friendly cashier. That's it. I am a regular at this location and they consistently mess up our food order. We pay for cream cheese for bagels and rarely do we get it. It is extremely annoying to pay extra for something only to find out after you have gotten to work that it is not there...and since I commute to the Bay Area I generally either have to throw away what I paid for ( because who wants to eat a DRY over toasted bagel ) or re-pay to get a new one closer to my job. Step up your game guys. Especially for people who come in at least 3x a week or more!!! read more

The baristas at this location are always super friendly and peppy, which I always enjoy. I come here because it's close AND because there's a drive-thru, which is super convenient. I have, on rare occasions, actually gone in to order but the main appeal of this Starbucks is not ever having to get out of your car.
