Coffee was standard Starbucks. Didn't enjoy my visit because the bathroom was filthy. Definitely not worthy of my Christian buttcheeks.

A pretty chill little corner location, but if you're looking for a smaller Starbucks storefront, hop the sidewalk and head into Safeway for comfy couch seating and big tables to spread out and get some real work done. This location is best for the grab-n-go. I detest Starbuck's coffee (I think it's ground charcoal briquets), but occasionally play gopher when others need a buzz at work. The kids working here are friendly and helpful, and there is a wide range of sweeteners and creamers. A small (sorry, Tall) regular is $1.80. Like it or not, I'll be back! read more

Okay, all the other times I've been here, I've hated my drink. They just didn't make it right... I'm talking about my usual: Black Ice Tea lemonade, light ice, 2 pumps. It either tasted too sour or too watered down or too much ice. I always had a complaint. I was in a rush and just stopped here last weekend for a hot chocolate run. I noticed that they had Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate so I ordered that in a Grande. It was pretty yummy and unlike any other kind of hot chocolate I've tried. Would definitely order that again. THIS REVIEW GOES OUT TO LLLIIINNNNDDDAAAAAA !!! I love you, and you're the best. You, are like the cream topping on a cupcake, you're so sweet and you make my day, EVERYDA... time I visit! But I gotta say, Jenn's taken the first place at making the 'perfect frappuchinos.' NO ICE GETTING STUCK AT THE BOTTOM OF MY STRAW, EVER! It's like a dream come true. LOVE IT. :) I'd get a table and sit down either by myself or with a friend and study for hours and hours, but the Batista's' friendliness and diligence never fades away. :) Batista's are funny and it almost gets addicting to stay and chat with them. And is it just me who's impressed with their incredible ability to memorize customers' USUALS??? I'd give Millbrae Starbucks that last star for that. I'm devastated that Millbrae Starbucks closes so early.. Well, then again, Millbrae Starbuck's open from 4:30 a.m..... ^^;..... Apparently very easy! The trash cans outside? You wouldn't be able to smell it. In fact, you'd think it's a green mailbox. But yes, you do throw away cups of finished/unfinished beverages in there so it keeps its smell inside. I mean we already have enough air contamination outside .... ^^; I know it's common to see trash cans full of white and green paper cups, but you wouldn't see it here. Please save your money and go to another location. There is a employee at this location who refuses to listen when taking orders and they will not take correction when the (uncomplicated) drink is not made correctly. Also, be aware that this location serves watered down coffee and the "hand-crafted" drinks have been beyond disappointing. I finally complained to the company after several visits of more of the same poor quality. No response- I expected more as a loyal customer. Never again. read more

This Starbucks is the first that I've seen that starts offering wine and beers after 2pm. I'd be very interested in checking that out. There's lots of parking out back and plenty of outdoor seating. This is one of my favorite "near work" Starbucks. Speedy, nice baristas and good parking. For 730am on a Saturday, fairly busy.

It's a Starbucks. Loud, crowded, plenty of caffeine. The person ahead of you will order a "vanilla latte grande in a venti cup with extra shot, almond milk, 4 pumps vanilla, no foam, light cinnamon, dolce top..." Somehow they crank it out fast anyway The staff is all pro. Busier than most Starbucks. Seating inside fills up fast. Lots of locals here, some congregate in groups. Extra seating outside (the weather here is mild 320 days/year right?) Clean! They are constantly cleaning this place. (Yes, some customers are sloppy, ugh!) This Starbucks is slowly going downhill. I ordered through the phone at 6:15 for a cold brew and a coffee. It literally took over 20 minutes and still nothing. It was to the point where I just asked for a refund. On top of that, the croissant they had given me, was cold! The lady goes, "sorry we're short staffed today". Coffee comes out of a dispenser and cold brew is pre made. How many people do you need to make premise coffee? Literally, Incompetent. Mobile order is supposed to help you expedite services not wait an extra 20 minutes for a damn coffee. read more

I come to this Starbucks on and off, and usually don't have a problem with it. However, my last visit to this place made me quite upset. This isn't an issue with the drink itself, but with the cashier. His customer service was very questionable. I ordered a caramel brûlée late and asked for it to be less sweet like I usually do. His immediate response was, "You know making it less sweet doesn't make it any cheaper right?" That was strike 1. Thanks man...the implication behind that comment was kind of rude. Did you even stop to think that maybe I just don't want the full 60g of sugar in my drink? But maybe you're just new, so I'll try to overlook it. "So how sweet do you want it?" I asked for just one pump of sweetener and no joke, he made a snark look and rolled his eyes at me when he wrote down my order on the cup. Strike two. I really didn't appreciate that. Everyone has their own taste preferences and who was he to judge mine? I'm sure a late with less sweetener isn't the most absurd order request he's ever received right?? By that point I was already pretty upset. After paying, I just wanted to pick up my drink and leave, but then he spent the next minute trying to sell these coffee beans or coffee filters (I wasn't really paying attention to him anymore) that I really wasn't interested in. When he was done with his speel, I said I wasn't interested and he just said "Ok," with a "whatever" tone and turned immediately to the next customer in line. Strike three. At first I thought maybe I was just being sensitive, but my Mother who was with me the whole time felt just as upset as I did. I've never encountered such a rude and degrading cashier before. In the past, Starbucks cashiers have given drink recommendations and suggestions to me, but they've always been really nice about it. Usually they would tell me how many pumps of sweetener they put into each drink and I would decide how sweet I wanted it. I got a grande iced coffee and a red velvet, and somehow the RV's tasted stale. I managed to eat half of it and threw the rest out. Terrible customer service early AM... The baristas obviously can't multi task because they can't take directions that were made at the cashier. They are too busy talking and messed up on my order. Then had a little attitude when I asked to remake the drink... I asked for a SOY latte, and was asked if I wanted whip- I said NO ... There was whip on my drink....... So, no I'm not drinking it just because you took the whip off that contains DAIRY. Half ass job. I told her nicely that I could not drink that, and you can tell she was irritated... This review are for the staff (cashier and baristas) working at 3:08 pm on 3/30/14. The cashier did not even say hi, what's your order, or thank you when I came to the counter. She was too busy talking to the barista about their personal problems (which involves a lot of cuss words). I am not a regular at this Starbucks and I find this behavior unprofessional. This Starbucks has a beautiful newly renovated inside, but I'm afraid the store manager needs to consider hiring employees to better serve the demographics of the Millbrae clientele. What I mean by that, is so many of the patrons of this Starbucks are Chinese (actually, pretty much the whole population of Millbrae is Chinese with the majority of businesses also being Chinese owned and operated). Many of these patrons have little to no mastery of the English language, so you can BE 100% CERTAIN THEY DONT UNDERSTAND STARBUCKS-SPEAK. I've had to stand in line for obnoxiously long wait times (this Starbucks already gets a lot of traffic being on the Main Street) because the frustrated baristas can't understand what the customer is ordering in broken Engrish. e.g.- today it took 7 mins for the Barista to understand a Chinese woman ordering "Whiting chocolate, little, no small crushed ice, but big ice scooped in. without a cow's milk, don't have a cream top. One more of espresso coffee also" was an "iced double tall soy white mocha, no whip." And of course everytime they repeated the order back to her in Starbucks-lingo, it confused her and she's start all over again. I know, I wanted to strangle her as much as the barista, but you gotta work with what you have, AND this is def not the first time we've been held up by the language barrier between your customers and your baristas. I know, I KNOW we're in 'Merica and if you wanna live here you gotta learn "'Mercian English" but I think if you specified a hiring interest in employees who could also speak Chinese, you'd have better rapport with the locals and regular patrons, and I could get through your long ordering lines faster without being as frustrated as your baristas. Let's just put it this way- the Quickly down the street, which is uber understaffed and horrendously slow is even faster than you. But I get in and out of there because their employees are also required to speak Chinese. I know you are responsible to corporate, but...Just a thought. read more

This is a good Starbucks! Why? 1. Awesome customer service; the staff is always friendly, quick and attentive. I've never had a bad experience here. Super professional and complimentary (yay for ego strokers!) 2. They make my coffee right. When I ask for "a little room" or "light room", I get light room. Not a half filled cup. 3. Lots of seating. 4. Lots of parking. 5. Near the freeway entrance. You could really befriend your barista here if you came on a regular basis. I wanted to complain to the Starbucks website but they no longer accept emails, so I figured I'll complain here. It's pretty consistent with the shitty service at this location. when I walked in it took someone 3 mins to say "hi how are you doing?" Although I wasnt sure if she was talking to me or a coworker cause there wasn't eye contact. This employee was a red hair girl. When someone finally approached me I told her I wanted a vanilla bean frap, and if it's possible to makes kids size for my three year old since I knew he would want some of mine. I also mention its ok if it's in the kids size hot chocolate cup. The barista told me she can give me the cup and I can pour it in. Which I was fine with but in the background I hear a girl saying we don't split cups. Ms. We don't split cups was training someone to make drinks. I saw my drink was about done and I stopped him when he was about to put whip cream. I asked if I can have it so I can pour it in the tiny cup. Ms. We don't split cups said "we don't split cups you have to buy another one" All I wanted was to pour some before the trainee put whip cream so my son won't just get all whip cream! Omg.. i feel so bad.. but they cant make any of my drinks right... I rarely get coffee but when i do, it just has to be right, ESPECIALLY seasonal drinks. I completely forgot about finishing this review since my last (and final) visit but i had to warn you all. The people working here.. They're okay. They would re-do my drinks (even after fucking it up more than twice) but being polite and nice won't completely do the job if the drink doesn't taste right! My old haunt... my old job. Parking sucks. The staff is still pretty friendly. Ryan is STILL the unofficial "mayor of Millbrae". This place is pretty much my equivalent to the Cheers of Millbrae. I noticed since Peet's started picking up... some of the regulars from my day have switched over. I guess I don't blame them. I really thought part of the reason a lot of the regulars kept coming back was really us, the baristas. I loved to chat it up with the regulars. I'm just a regular coffee drinker myself, so I usually grab my cup from Peet's. I did want to point something out to everyone that I don't think people aware of when comparing the brewed coffee at Starbucks VS Peet's. Starbucks coffee tastes very sludgy and bitter in the black - and this is because this is the kind of coffee that tastes great with milk and sugar. I guess you can almost think of it like a Vietnamese coffee in a french press with condensed milk added - the bitter strong taste makes it tastes richer when combined with milk sugar. Peet's makes a much better standalone black, which is all I ever drink. Their coffee also has a wicked KICK of caffeine. My eyes are glued opened after a medium cup of Peet's all day. I'm a bit biased since I love everything in Millbrae but I do really like this particular Starbucks. And get this, i'm not exactly a fan of Starbucks because I think other places have better coffee and they are a big corporate chain. But, it's close by and does the job when i'm in a hurry. The staff and the people that come in to this Starbucks is why I like this place. If you are there waiting for your drink...pause, look and listen. Everyone knows everyone...staff says hi to all the regulars and it's just a very homey and friendly environment. Everyone seems to care about each other and asks how things are going in their lives. I'm not from the area, so this is just a first impression. The line wasn't long, only 2 people in front of me, took almost 10 minutes. They screwed up my drinks, and another customers. One customer left because it was moving so slow. Another customer was getting a drink for a friend of theirs, part of the requested drink didn't make sense, and one of the baristas was even a bit rude in their response. so apparently this must be a Northern Cali thing...when you ask for an iced coffee w cream they charge you extra...$.60 to be exact at this location for cream if they put it in for you. I've pretty much counted out Starbucks as a serious dinning spot, or even a cool coffee shop at that. Today my mind changed. All because of one young lady. Nevaeh. She makes an amazing difference in customer service. I'm there everyday and no matter where she's working, I know everything is going to be perfect as long as she's working. She's fast and accurate, pays attention to detail and takes the job seriously. I think it's her first job, and that says a lot. Drinks are pretty much standard across all Starbucks stores I've visited. Therefore what my rating is based on is the customer service, cleanliness, and if their internet is decent. Customer service has been average, there were times when they messed the order, but there were more times where they got it right and in a timely manner. Cleanliness. It's pretty clean for the most times I've visited, but some customers love to make it messy by leaving lots of newspaper or crumbs on the table. Can't expect the workers to clean it every minute. Internet has been okay when it works, but there have been multiple days where the internet has been either spotty or nonexistent. read more

I had the pleasure of spending an hour here last Saturday while my car was in the shop. Thanks for letting me hang out! In the end I was able to find a nice seat in the window so I could people watch however everything else was sub-par. Even before I entered I could see garbage on all of the tables so there clearly had not been a walk through since the morning rush. It was 11:30. When I did make it in there were only two people in front of me so I made my way to the back of the line where I had to turn sideways and slide through a tiny opening between two displays. Annoying. A small walk way always makes me feel unwelcome. The staff were very friendly and fast. It's nice to have people serving you who are not stressed out. Very welcoming! There were a few people working on the laptops and it was very quiet and warm o n a cold day. My coffee however was horrendously bland. This was the worst cup of coffee I've had in over six to eight months. It was bad. I won't be back. read more

It's hard to review a starbucks. But I simply come here whenever my family comes to Millbrae for our Family Dinners at Asian Pearl further up the street. I typically will get my Trenta (or Venti) black iced tea, 3 pumps classic, light on the ice combination. So I mean it's nothing special, its just tea. Service was fast the last few times that I have come here which is nice. Compared to Santa Clara Valley Fair's, I get my drink fairly fast after placing my order which is great. But other then that, great bux, fast service...I'd come back! (Only when in the area which is every so often for my Chan Family dinners). This location is busy and often full of people who are rude and inconsiderate, but this is not a review of the patrons. The staff is efficient, friendly, professional and hard-working. They make delicious coffee. When the previously mentioned patrons make messes, smoke at the outdoor tables or let their children pour the milk meant for coffee into their graciously provided "water" cups, the staff handle it all with professionalism and courtesy. I am excited about the evening alcohol offerings that are coming to this location, but I also fear that it will cause more messes and hassles for the staff. I hope I'm wrong.
