The staff this morning decided they were going to practice for a musical theater audition. Practicing the same musical runs over and over while we were trying to enjoy our coffee. When one of the workers said , "we probably should stop" the employee who repeatedly sang the same run over and over said "since when do I care what people think?" This location is often disappointing, so I typically give my business to the other Starbucks locations in town but I regretfully gave it another chance today. I ordered in the app ahead of time and upon entering the store, my drink was ready but not my sandwich. I grabbed my drink and took a seat. One Starbucks employee greeted me then headed to the back, and another came out to clean the tables off in the lobby where she proceeded to talk about me on her headset to the other employee. She approached me and asked if she could push in the other chairs at the table I was waiting at and was visibly angry about my presence at the table. She proceeded to clean the other tables while still talking about me to her coworker. When she was done cleaning she went back behind the counter and I got up to ask about my sandwich. After standing at the counter for some time she finally asked "can I help you?" I told her that I was just waiting for my sandwich and she aggressively shot back with "what one" as if I was making it up. I told her the pesto mozzarella and she immediately changed her demeanor, grabbed my ticket and proceeded to make my sandwich. When it was done she brought it to my table and apologized a few times. While I appreciate her apology, the whole ordeal was unprofessional and disappointing. My previous poor experiences at this location have all been similar, so at this point I think it's safe to say that was my last encounter. read more

We just left having a very rude "Elliott" try to give us an additional Latte we ordered! She said I had no reason to be mad! We asked why it was taking so long for one drink! She should be fired! I went to two independent coffee houses before coming here, but since during summer hours, those places tend to close early (meaning by 4pm) I ended up coming here. Wasn't let down. Seriously, how would college students survive without caffeine?!? This location is right across the street from campus (southeast corner), making it the perfect location for that intern interview for next summer, meeting your parents so they don't see your dorm, or just treating that special someone with expensive caffeine. This location has a drive-thru, and VERY limited parking. There is plenty of seating indoors, incuding a wall of comfy bench seats, four high-back chairs, and a separate sofa and chaises area. Oh and lots of two-top tables. Perfect for study sessions. read more

Visited this Starbucks location just before leaving for work today. I was running behind, and the staff was in the middle of a shift change. The manager of the store Enia was just packing her stuff up to leave when she saw me checking the time on my phone. She dropped her stuff and went behind the counter to take my order and make my coffee. This kind of dedication and level of customer service is rarely seen now. I've never in my life ever been let down by this location. Today, Happy Hour Thursday, was no different! 1- I LOVE KARI. I am so thankful for her personality and kindness. She truly is a HUGE asset to this Starbucks and models to the rest of the crew how to work with customers, put drinks out fast, and greet people. The line was huge because it was happy hour 50% Frappuccinos, and she continuously, the entire time I was there, greet customers. She was kind. Genuine. And took care of everyone. She helped the woman making frappuccinos, assisted the man on the cash register. And the entire time she had a smile on her face. Somewhere alone the line, my two drinks got lost, so I waited patiently for about 15 minutes after I ordered to make sure I wasn't wrong before I asked about them. (I was mostly mesmerized by how hard everyone was working and how fast-paced the environment was. They were working HARD) She made a little joke about "oh, where did those go????!!" And then asked me what I ordered. She got me drinks that were a larger size than ordered, put them in front of the line, gave them to me, and said, "wait right there for a minute." She then cane back and gave me a gift card and said, "your next drink is on me." I've always been so impressed by the people at this Manhattan location, every time, and this was no different. I was not expecting any of that- and she took such a great care of me!!! I also feel like it wasn't because I was nice either- I genuinely feel like Kari just cares and wants to get it right for everyone!!!!!!! I love my town and this Starbucks!!!! read more

Overall, this locations drive through has always been hit or miss. Sometimes my drinks are not worth the money cause they are made kind of off, or it takes a lot of time. Today, I did not have the highest hopes due to it being back to school rush on a Friday night, but boy was I proved wrong. The young man, Jack, admitted to forgetting to enter my order, and said he would take care of it on the house because of me having to repeat it. I myself was more happy then many people due to working in a drive through management wise myself, and the sheer fact I made this exact mistake today!! A great way to end my Friday! I think this Starbucks gets a bad rap sometime because it's the only stand only Starbucks in Manhattan. I think this is a great location which doesn't get enough credit for dealing with people who expect baristas to know drinks from halfway across the country like "zebra/tuxedo mochas" and probably ask for things off the secret menu too. The baristas are all very nice and kind even in stressful times. The store is huge, arranged nicely, always clean, and I've never had a problem with my order the many times that I've been there. read more

This is my favorite Starbucks, period. The staff are so friendly, especially if you take a moment to say hi and chat with them. My drink always comes out delicious and perfectly made. Starbucks in Manhattan KS is very nice with a clean inside and a drive thru. The staff is friendly and respectful! It can be hard to get into but I think always has great coffee you know what to expect. They have great wifi and clean restrooms. read more

I know our order had a couple special requests but her attitude was awful and she was extremely rude. If I didn't need my caffeine so bad I would have just drove away. I got a coffee there yesterday and what I was most impressed by was that the supervisor was letting the workers know that they have to maintain a clean working area. She was pointing out that the trash was full and need to be changed. She was showing them the things needed to be tidy after using them. I could tell some of the workers were annoyed but I know she was doing it to maintain a safe and healthy environment. High five to her! The coffee came out great. I wish she would go over to the Junction City location and square them away on cleanliness and timeliness. read more
