The man who denied me water

0 stars if I could. I asked for a cup of water and was denied. This is against the law.

I stop by to earn my bonus star, order black ice tea & java chip. Usually upon receiving the order I get my star points, unfortunately after 24hrs didn't have my points. It's been 3 days but nothing of my points. I'm disappointed & will never come back this place.

The Staff here is excellent-shout out to Dion for awesome service. The drinks are well prepared, the service is fast. The location is very convenient on Westwood at olympic in a small shopping center. I rank this a top 10 Starbucks in LA.

Great service and delicious coffee here. Their WiFi is very strong and they have plenty of space inside. Also, Free Parking!!!

This Starbucks is located in a strip mall on the southwest corner of Olympic and Westwood Blvd., kind of a busy section of town. Best way to approach is heading south on Westwood Blvd (the driveway entrances are on Westwood) or east on Olympic (you'll have to turn right on Westwood Blvd). There are a very limited number of spaces in the street level lot; some are dedicated to the Chase bank, others are for Baskin Robbins, and many of the others have a 20 minute limit. As Romeo noted, there is free parking in the underground garage; the driveway entrance is just south of the strip mall and there is a stairway and elevator to get you back up to street level (look for the sign in the garage). It can get crowded down there, too; about a quarter of the spaces are reserved (I suppose for employees). Medium sized floor space, with seven small tables near electric outlets if you're bringing your laptop, plus four cushy chairs, also near wall outlets. Three more small tables in the middle of the floor if you don't need to plug in. Staff is as friendly as at other Starbucks. Uni-sex bathroom is clean & roomy. There is no outside seating, unfortunately. This Starbucks was surprisingly empty when I went in late on a Saturday morning, which is always a plus; I came to this one after going by a Starbucks closer to Santa Monica that was just packed. I've also come here in the middle of the week, in the middle of the afternoon, and it can alternate between being really packed or relatively empty; like most places, the number of customers at any one time is cyclical. This location is open weekdays, 5:30 AM - 9:30 PM, Sat 6:00 AM - 9:30 PM, Sun 6:30 AM - 9:00 PM.

One of the bigger locations in the area with just enough seats and tables for people to work/study. Lots of outlets for laptop users and tables with wireless phone charging stations--I really love those because it saves the space and hassle of having yet another cord. Staff is really nice and friendly...unless they are new, and then they tend to appear strictly by the book. The female workers are usually helpful and so is the Asian guy, probably because he's used to seeing me there. I'm a Starbucks Rewards Gold member so I usually get tons of coffee and/or tea refills, and I love that the staff gives them to me hassle-free and with a smile. I've never had any problems with my orders here or encountered any bad attitudes. Anyway, I come here often so I can spend hours getting work done on my laptop and occasionally read. The best time to go is during the week because it gets packed on weekends. I'm usually able to find parking in the lot but there's also free parking underground. It's L.A. so yes, free parking is a big plus. This location is spacious and kept clean. Only downside is that the a/c runs high in the summer so I get chilly sitting there for hours, but that's not a problem now that the weather's been cold. There are quite a few Starbucks in this area but this one's my favorite to spend hours at.

We arrived close to closing, and I was initially hesitant to go in for that reason. However, I saw another group of several people entering at the same time, so I assumed they were still accepting orders. That group was welcomed inside with smiles and allowed to place their order. When we approached the door immediately afterward, the reception was completely different. The smiles disappeared, and we were essentially shooed away and told we could not order. What made the interaction particularly uncomfortable was the obvious difference in how the two groups were treated within moments of each other. From what I could observe, the most noticeable difference between our group and theirs was the color of our skin. I can't say what motivated the staff's behavior, but the disparity in treatment was significant enough that it left us wondering whether race played a role. If the store was closed and no longer accepting orders, that policy should have been applied equally to everyone. Allowing one group to order while turning another away moments later is difficult to understand and left us feeling unwelcome. At minimum, I think the staff at this location would benefit from additional training on consistent and equitable treatment of customers.

It was my favorite. Fresh Strawberry Milk Cream was also delicious. There's a hint of tanginess that balances the sweet taste of the donut. Hazelnut Latte and Caramel Latte went perfectly well with donuts and Chocolate Chip Cookie. Their Chocolate Chip Cookie is plentiful and contained lots of chocolate chips. Cafe Knotted is now added to our go to list for yummy pastries and donuts. We have also informed our social circles to try this place out. It was a hot day, and so we asked for ice water with our order. You would have thought we were ASKING FOR GOLD, the way the employees got so huffy and rude!!! After confirming we were Paying Customers, they proceeded to talk under their breath about how they were going to switch to bottled water so "people couldn't get free water" anymore, suuuuuper cool to hear! I didn't think asking for water with a $25 order would be crazy, but they sure went out of there way to make sure I did!!! Weirdos. So yes, I'll never be back here, bad service and bad drinks/donuts, hope it closes!

Walked in on a Sunday around 11:30am, restaurant maybe a quarter full. Seated in a corner with incomplete silverware, no menus for several minutes, no water for even longer. Waited another 10-15 minutes with menus in hand before anyone came to take our order. The food wait aside, what really stood out was the lack of basic check-ins. No "sorry for the wait," no acknowledgment, and when I finally asked for the bill, the manager came over with the terminal, took payment, and walked off without much of a follow-up except to hand over boxes. Just a little warmth goes a long way! Food, when it arrived: * Landwer's Pancakes: the highlight. Three pancakes tall with seasonal fruit, whipped cream, Nutella, and maple syrup. Delicious and a generous portion. * Croissant Sandwich: disappointing. Tough, chewy croissant with thinner filling than the bread size warranted. Hard to get a clean bite. The Century City location is convenient, and parking on weekend mornings is easy before the crowds roll in.

My friend and I made a reservation for outdoor dining for brunch. We arrive right around our reservation time to find nobody at the podium. After a few minutes, a woman comes up and asks, "For two?" before immediately turning around and walking the other way, to which point we stop her and say that we actually had a reservation which we gave her all the details for. She stopped for about half a second, grabbed menus, then turned around again and brought the menus to an indoor table, then just walked away without making eye contact. She did not even tell us to follow her nor say a single word to us once we were seated. No worries, right? Wrong. We perused the menus and waited for about ten minutes, with no staff members coming by to help us. We started looking around to try to flag someone down, but each staff member was either not looking in our direction and/or wearing a different outfit from the next staff member, with some outfits almost having a nightclub aesthetic than wait staff. Eventually, another individual comes by our table and, again, without greeting us or making any eye contact, aloofly says, "Just order off the QR code," which we didn't see because the menus were covering it. Now, my friend who I was with works in the mall, and I know the restaurant offers a discount for mall employees, so as the employee was walking away, I called out and asked if we would still get the discount if ordering off the QR code, and he said yes. Note that in all the times my friend and I have eaten here in the past, it was always traditional table service. Then, we go to place our order, and after adding everything to the basket, it tries to charge my credit card. At this point, almost 20 minutes had gone by since we arrived, with still no single greeting or water or silverware set or anything. I get up to speak to another waiter who was helping nearby tables, to which I am again told to just order off the QR code but was reassured that the mall discount would be applied once the tab was settled. So we oblige and place our order through the portal. Several minutes later, the same waiter who I had most recently spoken with had come to our table (mind you, this is the first time someone came to our table in the entire time we were seated) and said that the restaurant was out of some of the items on our menu. And it was at this point that we FINALLY got waters. At this point, we had to look through the menu again, but it was getting to the point where we were going to miss our movie, so we had to just abandon ship and eat at the mall food court. Upon leaving, the only acknowledgement we got was from the first woman who "brought" us to our table, which was a petty smile and wave. Allow me to make myself clear. I hold no animosity against any establishment for being short-staffed, for requiring QR code ordering, or for being out of ingredients. This stuff just happens. What I do have an issue with is the astounding lack of any grace or hospitality, without even a simple "Whenever you're ready go ahead and use the QR codes on the table" or even a welcome. It just felt as though every person was just trying to get by with doing the bare minimum, and every employee had attitude. Even the couple next to us, who had been seated before we arrived, never got acknowledged. It's honestly a shame, because many of the items here are great, and the offerings are unique, but if this is how Cafe Landwer chooses to operate and treat its customers, I won't be back.
