They were well balanced and not overly sweet, which I always appreciate since you can actually taste the quality of the espresso. We spent some time enjoying the outdoor seating and it ended up being one of my favorite parts of the visit. Once again, I'm obsessed with the aesthetics at a Verve location. They really seem to focus on rustic wood vibes inside and incorporating nature in a fun way. They also have a selection of pastries that you can grab to enjoy with your coffee or take with you. Overall, we really enjoyed our visit to Alfred Coffee. I got the popular matcha einspänner, and unfortunately there aren't any adjustments you can make to the ice or sweetness. It was good and you could definitely taste the matcha, but I personally wish the matcha flavor was stronger. The cold foam was solid. Overall, I'd say it was good, but not the best matcha I've had, especially for the wait and popularity of the place. I wouldn't wait in line again specifically for it. Also got the banana bread, which was good! Nothing amazing, but solid. The sliders apparently sell out early in the morning, so keep that in mind if you're coming later. Parking was surprisingly easy when I went, which was a plus!

We both ordered cheesecake and we loved them. Very fresh, flavorful, and creamy in texture. I had the Oreo Cheesecake and my friend had the Mocha Cheesecake. My friend also had a Fusion Mocha Shake which he said tasted great with the right amount of mocha flavoring for his taste. We spoke to the owner/baker after we ate to compliment his desserts. I asked how business was and he said unfortunately slow. He mentioned how restaurants in general were having a hard time in the current uncertain economy. It has nothing to do with his products. A lot of cafes may do matcha, coffee, or tea particularly well, but Series A is one of the few spots where I think they excel at all three. Seating: There's a good amount of seating inside, but it's almost always full. A lot of people come here to study, so tables don't necessarily open up quickly. There are also quite a few solo customers at the larger tables, so you may have to wait around a little for a spot. Parking: The parking lot is small but actually a decent size for LA. It's usually packed, but people are constantly coming and going, so we've been able to find an opening. Series A is easily one of my favorite cafes in LA. Between the variety and how consistently good the drinks are, there's always something worth coming back for.
