The decor of the store is actually pretty nice. And it's not as hectic as it is outside. I hadn't been back to the Santa Monica & Vine area in about a decade, and I was pleasantly surprised to see how much cleaner and calmer traffic is on Friday -- and decided to stop by Starbucks for a hot latte to keep me awake. The strip mall plaza is located in a very busy intersection, though getting in is pretty easy, but exiting can be a bit of a challenge depending on traffic. Inside, the space is surprisingly roomy with plenty of seating -- and I noticed if you look up a rail artwork displayed near the pickup counter area. This is my go to Starbucks on my way to work every morning. I usually order ahead online and they always have my order ready. On the few occasions that the barista got my order wrong, they were quick to make it right and customer service is always very friendly. read more

The food thumbs down. This is the second time I have issues with my order. I travel for work and usually have limited options. This is my go to for something easy and healthy. The egg bites are okay ... sometimes they are cold due to the staff forgetting to put my order on the counter. The oatmeal is a hit or miss. Sometimes the water is not hot enough and my oatmeal is not cooked. But today the oatmeal is fully raw and uncooked. I spoke to the supervisor Sabby and wasn't the best solution. My options were to go back to the same Starbucks ( it's out of my way now) or to find another Starbucks to get a refund. I am busy working on the road. This Starbucks is really nice! New location on Santa Monica which is very convenient since it's on the way to the 101 freeway. Every time we go out we always needed coffee and there's none near by that's convenient. It's all see through windows so you can literally see everything inside and out. I like their seating , there's a lot of space. What I notice is that they have a lot of new staff that are just training and it takes them a bit longer to get a drink out or even ring out a customer. I know it's going to get better since they just have a few days open. I will be coming here a lot and if I have to I will voice my opinion. I'd like to give them a chance. Last time I came my drink was not good and I had to return it. But I came back again today and it was good . This location has its on parking lot but shared with other business so once it's more establish it might be hard to find parking. Good location for a Starbucks, it's right on the corner. I came here for a quick caffeine fix. It's a brand new Starbucks. Customer service was good and the cashier was friendly. She took my order quickly. I ordered a grande caffe vanilla frappuccino. Service was a little slow but it was during the early morning rush. The drink tasted good and it was the right mix of coffee and vanilla. This has become my favorite coffee drink. This is a new Starbucks, really nice and clean. I've been here two other times and both visits were fine. This time however, I went and ordered the dragon drink, and it was 90% ice. I'm a slow drinker but I was still able to drink the whole thing in less than two minutes. When I was done there were giant ice cubes up to the top line. There was hardly any drink in it. I would suggest ordering it without ice. I don't know if this practice is standard throughout Starbucks and I just should've known better, or if this is specific to this chain. But it honestly felt like a rip-off to pay $4 for a drink and get 90% ice. I'm giving three stars because both the other visits were ok. But this was just bad. read more
