I am an avid Starbucks and Matcha drinker, so I ordered an Iced Matcha Latte with oatmilk today from this Starbucks. When it came out immediately the color was much lighter than usual. I tried some and it was too diluted so I requested them to remake it for the reason it was too diluted. They did but the new one had no improvements color-wise and tasted worse. Below on the left is the Starbucks matcha and on the right is The Coffee Stop West Maui's matcha which was much better. This starbucks was good. I went inside because the drive thru was super long, boy was that a mistake. I ordered a venti iced coffee and it took forever for it to come out to me. Next day I went through the drive thru and it took like 5 minutes. Definitely go through the drive thru even if it looks long. I think they have one person working the inside cafe and 3 people working the drive thru line. Anyway! I find Starbucks a great place to grab a hot cup of coffee, as well as doing some work on my laptop. When working in the field, I have to file some service reports and I find going to a Starbucks coffee shop to be very convenient for me as far as having a comfortable setting to do my work, as well as get a quick hot cup of coffee to sustain my long day. Today's adventure was in Lahaina, as I was doing some work at a local Federal Credit Union and upon completing my job there, I decided to drive a few blocks down the road to this Starbucks coffee shop. Parking here is plentiful, as it's shared with a Panda Express (don't worry, I didn't go there today, Lol!), & a Walgreens drugs store. I'm not sure if this complex is considered the Lahaina Gateway Shopping Center, but I can tell you just across the street where you can see Ross Dress for Less, the Ace Hardware store, or Foodland, this is where the Lahaina Gateway Shopping Center is. This particular Starbucks coffee shop in Lahaina is rather small in comparison to the other Starbucks I've been to on Maui, but on the bright side, this Starbucks store does have a lot of covered outdoor seating, as well as a automobile drive-thru. This is our go to Starbucks when on the island. I'd like to compliment the staff for their smiling faces and consistent wonderful customer service. I consistently order on my phone and we simply use the drive thru and have never been disappointed. Our drinks are always prepared properly and taste great! My go to Starbucks in the neighborhood but this is now the second time the inside has been closed and only drive thru is open. I totally sympathize with being understaffed but if you're closing the inside maybe turn off the order ahead feature. Because now I'm stuck in this long line waiting for an order that I definitely would've bailed on otherwise had I not paid for. Order ahead is for speed and convenience not a 7 cars deep drive thru. The good: I tried the chocolate sweet cream iced coffee drink and thought it was fun and well balanced. The bitter coffee with the sweet cream on top was a great pick-me-up and was especially refreshing in the Hawaiian heat. I loved how many Hawaiian inspired souvenirs and cups there were. There were pineapple shaped tumblers and Hawaiian mugs. It's a great spot to shop at for souvenirs for fellow Starbucks fans. The bad: The interior has a bit of a dark feel and isn't as inviting or cozy as some other Starbucks locations. I had to pee and Foodlands didn't have a public restroom so this was the next best option (or so I thought it was). I wanted to purchase an iced coffee since I don't want to use the facilities without buying something at least. I put the order in with the barista for a simple tall iced coffee with light ice and no syrup. I asked for the bathroom 5 digit code and headed straight for the bathroom. Bathroom was nasty as hell. The toilet bowl literally had a dark rim of shit or something as if it never got scrubbed. Toilet paper roll was empty too so only toilet seat covers were available :( and after washing your hands, there was Starbucks napkins in the paper towel dispenser, which didn't fry my hands but created a messy wet layer in a small stack of napkins. I let the barista know afterwards about the lack of TP since I've experienced cleaner bathrooms at a gas station than this. Not only did the bathroom situation sucked but the drink order seemed to be forgotten because we waited forever. We kindly reminded the baristas about the iced coffee and then they got on it. We grabbed the drink and left asap from the Starbucks shithole (literally). read more

Went on Christmas day, waited in the drive thru line for about 10 minutes. Not bad they're really busy today. It was an overcast cast day so I guess everyone wanted something hot to drink. Took my order and went to the window. Friendly and kind service. That's always a plus. I feel for the employees that have to work on Christmas day. Sometimes you think drive thru is so busy and you end up turning around. So, thats what happened to me many times and one day I just tried & they are actually fast after you get to order window. I think that's the area where everything goes slow. I really like how they make my white mocha iced grande and I wonder why they never did make my caramel taste like that? Sometimes I only taste water, or just latte. My favorite sandwich is the impossible sandwich it just yummy. I think its the bread that makes it perfect. Although its a bit expensive. I like coming here because it's the only one in Lahaina with a drive thru haha! They're pretty quick and everyone here is friendly. One time I put in an order and forgot to pick up on my to the otherside of the island. I called to let them know and they told me to come and get another drink later. Just for completion, I should review the Starbucks with the drive through that is across the street from the Starbucks without the drive through and also across the street from the Starbucks in the grocery store next to the Starbucks without the drive through. But this one does have a drive through. I think that is pretty much all that distinguishes it from the other two. If you are headed north on 30 and/or heading on to the bypass, then this one is convenient and easy in and out... because it has a drive through. Getting out of here and back to 30 can be a bit of a challenge because there is lots of traffic on the Lahaina Bypass and no median lane you can turn into while waiting for a break in the traffic coming down the hill. Is this more info about the traffic pluses and minuses for a Starbucks that you were expecting to read? What about the coffee you ask! Do you like Starbucks coffee flavored milk products? Not sure why I came here with all the splendid cafes in the area that serve coffee using a variety of Kona coffee from Hawaii. I guess it was he convenience and they have a drive through. It's a new Starbucks that's relatively spacious and clean. They have a lot of tables including communal ones that are perfect for a group. On my first visit in the evening, the service was subpar where I didn't even get noticed while the staff was chattering amongst themselves. I also think that I didn't receive two shots in my Americano, as it was weaker than drip coffee. Unfortunately I didn't taste it until I was too far away. Today the service was top notch with smiles and the island Alaho charm. They got my Americano just right and I used my handy Apple Watch to pay for my beverage. read more

I love this location. It is spacious, nice furniture, lots of parking and right next to Wallgreens and Panda Express. Across the street is Safeway. They have a long window seating/bar like facing the paking lot. Three tall four tops. Long communal table and if you want to be left alone a few two tops are located in the perimeter. This branch actually reminds me of the Denver Starbucks sans the blasting heater and fire place. They have an outside seating area with the green huge umbrella that serves as a beacon to me sometimes:) Upbeat baristas with the constant Aloha/Mahalo thrown in every time a customer orders. What I love about this location on the West side is the drive thru. What they are missing is the visual order screen that customers can see and review their order on. On my last visit I ordered 2 drinks that were wrong. I am on a keto diet, so no sugar and no dairy milk. I ordered a SF cinnamon almond milk macchiato with mo caramel drizzle. I had to repeat the order because she thought I ordered a caramel macchiato no caramel. What I got was a SF Cinnamon macchiato, so I got cow's milk and tons of caramel. I asked her if it was SF and she said "I think the Cinnamon dolce is always sugar free".... No, please train better, there is Cinnamon Dolce and SF Cinnamon Dolce. Like Vanilla, and SF Vanilla. I also ordered a BLENDED strawberry lemonade for my son. I, also, repeated this order, and it came out over ice. I usually pre order my Starbucks with the AP, but the location I normally go to, and know me, just shut down. This location is ALWAYS out of English Breakfast tea when I come in to order. I have complained about this to various staff members who obviously don't give a crap because nothing changes. Literally 10 different occasions I have ordered my tea to find they are "out of stock" again! Then i have to drive across the street to the Cannery location, which is also sometimes out of stock. So how hard is it to keep good stock levels on something like this? I realize coffee is a more of a priority for their customers but this is ridiculous. This is the newer stand alone Starbucks off of Front Street, the seating area is really nice and open. When ordering your drink be specific so that you get what you want, I made the mistake of assuming they would make my pink drink like the ones I have had on the main land but that wasn't the case. This place is great for my friends and I to have coffee outside in the mornings. The staff is remarkable. They call me by name and I feel at home there. It is not their fault but recently we've been experiencing sewage smell coming from the direction of the plants. It's unbearable at times. Also there's this same guy with a suitcase that sleeps on one of the outside tables most of the mornings. The worst service I have ever experienced at a Starbuck's. The young ladies employed there were playing around and socializing more than working. Ordered a tea and a breakfast sandwich. Tea was served and was waiting for breakfast sandwich. Ten minutes later went to counter to ask about sandwich. First time they said they were working on it. A few minutes later I went to the counter and the young girl said she'd just put it in the oven! The place was NOT very busy, no excuse present for this.
