I like this new Starbucks in La Mesa. The management and employees were super friendly and welcoming. Even during these hard times with COVID-19, they were in good spirits taking measures to consider the safety of patrons and their fellow employees. That being said, I had them make me, TO GO, a Venti Cafe Misto with their Dark Roast and a toasted Sprouted Grain Bagel with butter only. The Misto was great and offered a robust flavor that I was looking for. The spouted grain bagel was consistently as good, as I have experienced at other locations. Good bagel. This location offers a drive thru, and hopefully some day, comfortable seating inside and outside.

idk why I haven't learned my lesson yet... this place continues to suck. Then the employees will argue with you and say "well that'll be extra" just to have the drink you paid for to be full.

Christmas Blend is in, as of Nov 5! They call it Christmas blend again.

Seems like they are doing slightly better on keeping the traffic not *as* backed up onto Jackson. After a recent conversation with one of my favorite Yelpers, Kev, I realized it was go time on the holiday floofy drinks. I have been here quite a few times recently and they are rocking the pumpkin cold brew. Sorry Kev, I've had a lot of them too. :D My French press broke, and I'm going full floof right now on my sugar Starbucks concoctions. I don't even feel bad about it.

1/16/2023 12:50pm ordered grande iced white mocha with oatmilk, no whip my go to, barista had a friendly smile , nice start. Sat down and waited a while after ordering only to check the counter had a few items sitting. Figured they would call out my name since barista asked when I placed my order at the register and it's printed on the receipt ‍ I think it's rude to not let customers know when their items are ready, especially in a small quite lobby that's not crowded at all. Overall opinion on service is 2 stars because of that simple task that usually does not happen. Usually they call out the customers name ‍ it's really not that hard

To be honest, Starbucks was not my choice today for coffee (no offense - I just have been trying to support the small local shops during COVID - but they were closed today) I described to the gal what I sorta wanted and what flavors I do really enjoy at Starbucks - and she replied with "ok. We got you! " And they sure did. This drink it delicious and it delivers the flavors I truly love from Starbucks (espresso, matcha & caramel) So I truly appreciate these gals today who assisted me and made my drink!

Loved the chocolate chip muffin (semi-sweet chocolate, but more of a biscuit consistency, not sweet, just satisfying). And let's talk cookies...absolutely the BEST sugar cookie and oatmeal raisin cookie that I have ever had. Again, not too sweet, but full of satisfying flavor. If you haven't been, swing by and give them a try!

Update after the owner's response:…read more I appreciate the response, but I stand by my experience. Whether the wait was 5 minutes or 20, we were standing at the pickup counter after receiving a notification that our order was ready, and no one acknowledged us until we spoke up. During a rush, communication still matters. I also want to clarify that I never claimed to have a dairy intolerance or allergy, because I do not. I simply stated that all of us became sick shortly after consuming the drinks and pastry we purchased there. I never claimed to know the exact cause -- only the timing of what occurred. What disappointed me most was not just the experience itself, but the defensive and dismissive tone of the response instead of a more professional acknowledgment of a customer concern. I genuinely wanted to enjoy this place because it is cute and came recommended to me, but unfortunately this was my experience.

I was on my way to church and needed an early cup and was surprised how many shops were not open at 7 AM. I'm sure I could have found a Starbucks but that's always reserved for a last resort. Big props to this spot being open early on a Sunday morning, so I could make it to church prayed up and fully caffeinated. The barista opened right on time (7 AM) I loved how friendly she was for it being that early, and she got me my drink within 3-4 minutes. I am not a big coffee drive-thru guy, but if I lived in the area, especially knowing it is veteran owned, I might become one. Thanks guys and best of luck!

I unfortunately chose the wrong line and got stuck behind this cop who was ordering but also decided to get out and help capture a lost dog which made 3 other cars cut in line ahead of me... the workers were very sweet and noticed I had been waiting and came out right away to help and make sure I got my order taken! The la mesa latte was super yummy and while I'm not the biggest fan of cold foam on lattes this one was pleasantly good! I had also gotten a bagel with cream cheese which I don't believe was toasted and would say that was the only downside but the delicious amount of cream cheese definitely helped.

I like the roasting profile they use, and for a while, they've stocked a Costa Rica Sonora Black-Honey Natural that is just fantastic. Joe Paraiso, the owner, is a very experienced coffee purveyor, and he's been incredibly kind to me, sharing his time and knowledge to make sure I get what I want. And, not for nothing, when I'm at Brew Coffee Spot picking up the beans I ordered online, I always have a coffee. Joe either does a great job of training his baristas, or he's REALLY good at hiring talent, or both. Seriously... his folks make my coffees, usually a cortado or a straight espresso, with a downtown San Francisco or Rome level of competence.

Recently, I spent some time back in La Mesa and thought I would go back and try this spot out. So much space, friendly staff, reasonable prices, with a bunch of gluten-free and vegan options when it comes to food. Plenty of parking, outdoor seating as well, and even when they were busy, I think I did not wait more than five minutes for my drink. I chose to use their honey syrup instead of regular honey, and was not disappointed with my iced oatmilk latte also, I have to point out something you don't typically see at a lot of coffee shops. Both times I went, there was an incredible mix of generations in that shop. From younger to older, it was awesome to see generations coming together. Great job guys!
