Where do I even start....i order coffee from this location 3 times a week, spending anywhere from 50-70 bucks a weeks depending on how rough my work week is going. My husband's order is pretty straightforward but mines....its pretty out there and complicated, the kind of order that would make any seasoned barista cringe or roll their eyes. They're all super nice, but this particular group that works together makes an awesome team. Last Thursday I accidentally placed an order but to the Eastlake location by my house. I work in La Mesa so I usually order from the Jackson location. Well I walk in and they noticed me and asked if I ordered. I thought I did but when I looked at the app I didn't. I started to stress out but they took care of it quickly and helped calm me down. They got to it right away knowing I had to be at work and I was in and out rather quickly! I still made it in time! The two baristas on shift this afternoon sadly missed an opportunity that could have convinced me to re-engage with Starbucks. I come to this area when I'm headed out of town. When a group of us stopped here today, the bathroom code was reluctantly given by the female employee before we ordered our beverages. The wait for the bathroom was lengthy for the public bathroom DESPITE the fact that there is a second bathroom. Despite asking if there is a code for the second bathroom, I got a bunch of attitude when told it was for "employees only". So instead, a male employee came over and knocked on the door to hurry up the person inside the public bathroom which was quite rude especially since the second bathroom could have been easily opened to remedy the situation that there were three people in line. I understand the issue with unhoused populations necessitating the code on the doors but when this was certainly not a situation with unhoused people and could very easily have been solved, this was a clear lack of customer service and poor attitudes from the employees. What a disappointment in decent customer service and missed opportunity for trying to go above and beyond in one's job. Not gonna be back to this location despite being in this area often. And instead of just brushing it off, it's compelled me to actively tell my friends to not visit this location either. read more

Upon entry the ambiance was exactly as it should be: with some lo-fi music playing on the speakers, a family playing cards, and a few other people sitting about chit chatting. I made the mistake of not properly checking the location of which I placed my mobile order, but GZ and Abi were on it for me. All I had to do was show my receipt from the other location, and they made sure to get me the items I ordered. GZ suggested I call the location I placed my order to let them know I wasn't coming to pick it up, and I did as I was told. GZ brought my bagel with cream cheese, and my drink to me after Abi made it for me. Both of them are amazing and their customer service is superb. I didn't add anything extra -- just switched syrups that all cost the same $0.80-- and somehow that warrants a new upcharge? It's not about the small cost, it's about the principle. I like this new Starbucks in La Mesa. The management and employees were super friendly and welcoming. Even during these hard times with COVID-19, they were in good spirits taking measures to consider the safety of patrons and their fellow employees. That being said, I had them make me, TO GO, a Venti Cafe Misto with their Dark Roast and a toasted Sprouted Grain Bagel with butter only. The Misto was great and offered a robust flavor that I was looking for. The spouted grain bagel was consistently as good, as I have experienced at other locations. Good bagel. This location offers a drive thru, and hopefully some day, comfortable seating inside and outside. read more

Sat down and waited a while after ordering only to check the counter had a few items sitting. Figured they would call out my name since barista asked when I placed my order at the register and it's printed on the receipt ‍ I think it's rude to not let customers know when their items are ready, especially in a small quite lobby that's not crowded at all. I come to this Starbucks almost everyday I work for my breakfast. Not any more. I went into the cafe and ordered today. 20 minutes later and all the customers who have come in after me have gotten their drinks. I go and ask what's going on with my drink. From the time I asked the girl who was at the counter did not want to hear it and was giving me an attitude. The girl who took my order never asked me for my name so they couldn't find my order, she also didn't give me a receipt. The girl at the counter was incredibly rude about helping me get my drink made. I ended up asking for my money back. I was watching the counter my drink was never out there. If it was made they gave it to someone through the drive thru, then decided to treat me like I was the one who somehow made the mistake, and like it was a bother to just get me the drink I paid for. read more

Honestly I'm so upset. I wanna start off by saying I have never had a bad experience here except for today. I always order a brown sugar shaken espresso usually around 2pm-5pm and from how many times I order it I know how it's made. Today happened to be the day that I went around closing time. & so happen today I had to get my drink remade, and let me tell you I didn't receive a very good out come. 1. it wasn't shaken, if you drink this you know it tastes completely different without it being shaken. To be completely honest, I don't even think that they remade it it feels like It just got poured into a different cup. We came back and went into the store. We went in with no attitude just wanted our drinks remade, when we were waiting they were talking through the headset, looking at us and smirking. it made us feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome. my wife was very upset to the point she was trying to see if we can get a refund. She never get gets upset but today I can tell she was because she called when we left and asked for the persons name at the register. She even received attitude through the phone when we asked for her name. The lady She spoke to was Nicole and I was received with a lot of attitude and when I got there she said "now that i think about it we don't have cinnamon" like WHAT. You couldn't have said it when I ordered it... very upset. P.S no one was wearing aprons. Hands down best Starbucks service I have ever gotten. I decided to go to Starbucks because my toddler was a bit fussy and we were a bit early to his doctors appointment. Thankfully the Starbucks line wasn't so bad, so as soon as we pulled up to the drive to order the person ordering asked how I was doing ? Not their typical welcome to Starbucks let me take your order thing. The complete opposite they asked how my day was going and then proceeded to take my order. I ordered my usual iced coffee and a cake pop and apple juice for my son. The line was moving pretty fast and when we got to the window, the barista was very nice and had our drinks ready. This is exactly the service one wants. Definitely will be returning to this Starbucks again. read more

I'm not a fan of drive thru Starbucks. They always seem to have people willing to block street traffic because they're incapable of getting their lazy asses out of their cars to fetch those disgustingly sweet drinks they're inordinately fond of. This location has tried to prevent the people who park in the lot from being blocked in by drive thru traffic, which is a good idea if not for the lack of space for the drive thru traffic, leading these lazy people to just pile up on Jackson Drive instead. I typically don't visit any location with a drive thru unless they have parking available nearby, and not in their lots. There's no street parking near here on this side of the street because of the way the street is laid out, so I've only been here when I'm picking up takeout from nextdoor. This would only be a last option for me as a result. I come here to feed my son's love of their iced tea. The service is usually good though and it's clean inside. read more

Just wow. Go to any other Starbucks location. They want to give you shit about how you order your drinks and then not even make the drink right anyways. Been ordering the same exact drink at Starbucks for a decade. I order it a specific way to make it cheaper, the barista wasn't having it, and then they purposely gave me my drink with about a inch missing from the top when I paid extra for the extra milk. I try to be understanding I know working in a drive-through is difficult. But if you're going to have an attitude just because someone's trying to save a little money maybe you shouldn't be a barista. I was super nice and even tipped. I've gone to this location about 10 times since it opened. They've messed up my order 6 of those 10 times. I detest coffee but I love their other drinks. It seems if you get any hot drink they automatically put coffee in it. Today it was a peppermint white hot chocolate; coffee was added for some reason. Last time it was a Carmel Apple cider; coffee was added. When I asked them why coffee was added the rude drive thru woman claimed that's what I ordered very pointedly. I checked my order and gave her the cup to read the order and she just says oh ok we'll make a new one. No apology, no ownership. I will not be going back to this location. read more
