We tried them in comparison to every other locally roasted or non local but freshly roasted bean we could find, and didn't find a better product. We use it for espresso, which my husband drinks daily. We love the Brazilian but try the new varieties as well when they are stocked at Whole Foods. The price is also very fair for the quality and volume. We will continue to support this local, fantastic business!

It ended up being perfect--sweet but not overly sweet, and really flavorful. I also signed up for their rewards program and got $5 off my first order, which was a nice bonus. I originally wanted to sit outside since the weather was so nice, but ended up sitting inside. Next time I'll try to get there earlier to grab an outdoor spot. Parking is pretty tight--the front lot is small--but I was lucky to find a spot, and I noticed some people parked on the surrounding streets. The building is a renovated house and offers an abundance of indoor and outdoor seating. It's a coffee shop by day, and after 4pm, it turns into a 21+ bar and venue that restricts laptop use. The barista was super friendly, and it was obvious they were a pro because the espresso was dialed in. Aside from your usual espresso based drinks, they offer tea and seasonal drinks, like strawberry matcha, as well as pastries. I do feel like it's a bit overpriced and outdated to charge $1 for alt milk, but that seems to be the norm in Birmingham. All in all, I'm impressed with the type of atmosphere that House Eleven is delivering to 1st Avenue North and would definitely go back to try other drinks.
