Ok so this is finally my return to 7 Brew, updated review, the possible 3 strikes and I'm done with…read moreyou review. Well, I am happy to say, that you have redeemed yourselves from 2 strikes to now only one strike. So I went to 7 Brew on Sunday, at around 10:13 am. I looked at the menu before coming and made up my mind. We will try an original, the Blondie. So I arrived at 7 Brew and got in line, in the right side. 10 cars total, 5 on each side. Saw one of the employees taking orders, and she was already on the 3rd car on the left side. So already, looking good. But then, after she took that order she left. So I waited, and waited, and waited, for 7 minutes, with no one taking my order. I made it all the way to the front again, with no one taking my order. At least it was only 7 minutes, and not 30. So I'm at the front and I see two employees inside asking and then pointing at my car, discussing if I had had my order taken. So she comes up to me, sorry didn't get her name, and she asks me very politely, did anyone take your order yet, and I replied no. And very politely she apologized and I acknowledge her apology as to be sincere. I then gave here my order and she said that will be right out. Order was a large Blondie, half sweet, breve. And I got my drink within a minute and left. And I have to say I was extremely happy that the employee acknowledged that no one took my order and apologized. I was extremely happy with the time it took to get my order and I'm extremely happy with how it tasted. Perfectly hit the spot, just the way I like. The only two reasons I'm giving this 4 stars and not five is the time it took to take my order, and the price. Overall $7 for my drink, then to ask for a tip on top of that, isn't right. If the drink was cheaper, then yes. And especially in the heat I'll give a tip. I gave a tip today because I appreciated the apology and understood it to be sincere, and the fact that these guys are out here working and dealing with the wildfire smoke. I will definitely be back to try the other drink selections, because I am very interested. Thank you.

I tried the Iced Spotted Owl and really enjoyed it--definitely on the sweeter side, but as a hazelnut fan, it hit the spot. The lemon coffee cake bites were a great add-on. Not too heavy, just the right portion for a quick treat alongside a drink. Huge bonus for me: they have a drive-thru, which makes it super convenient when you're on the go. The service was also great: friendly, quick, and made the whole experience even better. And extra points for being dog-friendly! Their pup cup was huge and such a fun surprise. Always love seeing places go the extra mile for customers with pups.

It has a comfortable local coffee shop feel rather than feeling like a typical chain. The coffee was good and thoughtfully made. You can tell they put care into their drinks, and the quality was consistent. The menu had a nice variety of options, making it easy to find something whether you prefer classic coffee drinks or something a little different. Service was friendly and the overall experience was enjoyable. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that while everything was good, I didn't have a single drink or item that completely stood out as unforgettable.

You couldn't ask for a better place to start off your day at. Their stores are always small, modern, and sleek with limited seating available. So, plan to get it to go. They are also passionate about what they do. So, get ready for a tasty treat. I always get the blended mocha, a small coffee with cream, and an iced latte. My favorite drink is the blended mocha. From the first sip to the last drip. I always savor every last sip of that delicious drink. It's creamy, chocolaty, and has a bold coffee flavor! Topped with delicious whipped cream. Also, I love taking home a cup of coffee for the next day. Trust me when I say that this coffee is incredible! It's nutty, with notes of cocoa, cocoa nibs, toasted almond, vanilla, and rich caramel notes. I can't suggest it enough! I always get the large iced latte with whole milk. That drink is pure perfection! And, I love the decaf Americano with cream! So, if you're looking for a new place to go for an excellent coffee! Come here! You won't regret it.

We ordered two drinks: a salted caramel cold brew for my wife and a flat white for myself. The cashier accidentally rang up my wife's drink as a salted caramel matcha instead, which wasn't a major issue since she enjoys matcha anyway, but I do wish they had read the order back to us to avoid the mix-up. Fortunately, the salted caramel matcha turned out to be a happy surprise, and the flat white was solid, if a bit ordinary. Since we visited on a weekday, it wasn't too crowded, and we were able to find a comfortable spot to sit. We really liked the branding and appreciated having this cozy little nook inside the largest mall in the region.

I visited the Algonquin 7 Brew location on Saturday to take advantage of the BOGO promotion, and…read moreunfortunately, the experience was disappointing from start to finish. The first issue was the drive-thru line. There was construction happening in the parking lot, and employees were directing traffic. The car directly in front of me was allowed to enter the drive-thru, but I was instructed to drive all the way around the parking lot and follow the cones. What made it frustrating was that I later watched other vehicles being directed straight into the line. The process seemed inconsistent and unnecessarily confusing. Once I finally got into line, there were several employees standing near the entrance talking while customers waited. It took a while before anyone approached my vehicle to take my order. When an employee did come over, I asked about one of the promotional drinks. He wasn't familiar with what was in it and had to leave and ask someone else. While I understand employees are still learning, I expected a little more familiarity with the menu and promotion. The biggest issue was at the payment window. The music was so loud that I could barely hear the employee speaking. I had to repeatedly ask her to repeat herself and eventually found myself raising my voice just to communicate. It made the interaction frustrating and unnecessary. Another disappointment was the pricing. One of the reasons I originally chose 7 Brew over other coffee chains was the value. When I first started going about eight months ago, my large drink with cold foam was around $7 and change. Now that same drink is over $9. I understand prices increase, but when you're paying more, you also expect consistency. The cold foam in my drink was minimal, especially considering it is an additional charge. I've visited this location three separate times and have had similar experiences each time. I kept giving it another chance because it's only about seven minutes from my house, but this visit was the final straw. At this point, I'd rather drive the extra 20+ minutes to the Huntley or Lake Zurich locations than return to the Algonquin location. Between the inconsistent traffic direction, employees standing around while customers waited in the lot, lack of product knowledge, excessively loud music, and disappointing drink execution, this location has lost my business.

I had a co-worker who ordered me a Carmel Macchiato, blended half caff with coconut milk and it was out of this world. So I ordered the same thing and it was incredible! My wife got the Sugar Cookie Chai Tea and enjoyed it, though she didn't realize you can change the sweetness level, so she would've reduced it. My daughter got the Star Gazer and it was super duper good! The staff was super positive and polite, even given the snowy and cold weather. Since it was swag day, we got a free shirt for every large drink. We actually came back a second time! BTW, the prices are comparable to the other places and even a little less depending on item. Now I have to come back to try the other iced drinks and sodas. It's a nice break from the standard coffee joints that have saturated the market. So many flavors, options, and styles... it's almost overwhelming. My only complaint (don't call me an old man) was that the music through the speakers was way too loud. Not bad since it was a big marketing event, but I hope it's not this loud in a few months when the traffic settles. Either way, I'll be back, for sure!
