Janet was a great server. it was my first time going there and I wasn't sure what to get but she recommend a very nice drink.

I visited the Algonquin 7 Brew location on Saturday to take advantage of the BOGO promotion, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from start to finish. The first issue was the drive-thru line. There was construction happening in the parking lot, and employees were directing traffic. The car directly in front of me was allowed to enter the drive-thru, but I was instructed to drive all the way around the parking lot and follow the cones. What made it frustrating was that I later watched other vehicles being directed straight into the line. The process seemed inconsistent and unnecessarily confusing. Once I finally got into line, there were several employees standing near the entrance talking while customers waited. It took a while before anyone approached my vehicle to take my order. When an employee did come over, I asked about one of the promotional drinks. He wasn't familiar with what was in it and had to leave and ask someone else. While I understand employees are still learning, I expected a little more familiarity with the menu and promotion. The biggest issue was at the payment window. The music was so loud that I could barely hear the employee speaking. I had to repeatedly ask her to repeat herself and eventually found myself raising my voice just to communicate. It made the interaction frustrating and unnecessary. Another disappointment was the pricing. One of the reasons I originally chose 7 Brew over other coffee chains was the value. When I first started going about eight months ago, my large drink with cold foam was around $7 and change. Now that same drink is over $9. I understand prices increase, but when you're paying more, you also expect consistency. The cold foam in my drink was minimal, especially considering it is an additional charge. I've visited this location three separate times and have had similar experiences each time. I kept giving it another chance because it's only about seven minutes from my house, but this visit was the final straw. At this point, I'd rather drive the extra 20+ minutes to the Huntley or Lake Zurich locations than return to the Algonquin location. Between the inconsistent traffic direction, employees standing around while customers waited in the lot, lack of product knowledge, excessively loud music, and disappointing drink execution, this location has lost my business. read more

So extremely happy that there's a 7 Brew in town! I had my first one in Bentonville, Arkansas and I was hooked. I had a co-worker who ordered me a Carmel Macchiato, blended half caff with coconut milk and it was out of this world. So I ordered the same thing and it was incredible! My wife got the Sugar Cookie Chai Tea and enjoyed it, though she didn't realize you can change the sweetness level, so she would've reduced it. My daughter got the Star Gazer and it was super duper good! The staff was super positive and polite, even given the snowy and cold weather. Since it was swag day, we got a free shirt for every large drink. We actually came back a second time! BTW, the prices are comparable to the other places and even a little less depending on item. Now I have to come back to try the other iced drinks and sodas. It's a nice break from the standard coffee joints that have saturated the market. So many flavors, options, and styles... it's almost overwhelming. My only complaint (don't call me an old man) was that the music through the speakers was way too loud. Not bad since it was a big marketing event, but I hope it's not this loud in a few months when the traffic settles. Either way, I'll be back, for sure! read more

My daughter stopped at the Algonquin location and picked up drinks for my husband and myself. She ordered a large sugar cookie Chai - no ice - and a large iced Chai with almond flavoring - light ice. When she received the sugar cookie chai, the cup was only filled halfway. She questioned the employee and was told that's as much as they fill the cup when you order no ice. She brought the drinks home and, needless to say, we were upset at the amount of drink they gave her. We have ordered a Chai with no ice at the Huntley location and actually received a full cup with absolutely no issues. The Almond Chai also had no almond flavoring. I drove back with her and waited in line again. I told the girl taking orders that there was a problem with both drinks. I was again told that they only fill the cup halfway when you order no ice. I explained that if we had asked for light ice, the drink would still not be full. I told her we wanted the drink remade with light ice. I also explained the Almond Chai had no almond flavoring. She entered the order again and we asked her to read it back. She read it back as "Iced Chai with oatmilk". I told her that was not correct and again. repeated "Iced Chai with almond flavoring". I then asked her to repeat the order. She said "Iced Chai with almond milk". Incorrect again. Repeated my order to her again. Third time - she still had it wrong. Finally repeated the order correctly on the fourth try. Waited to pick up my order and told them I wanted to taste my drink before leaving. Wouldn't you know... no almond flavoring. Waited for them to remake my drink again. Received the correct drink on the third try. Overall, an awful experience. Next time, we will be picking up our full cup with no ice and correctly flavored drink from the Huntley 7Brew ... or the nearby Starbucks. read more

Let me tell you a story. my fiancé and i went to go get a drink that i've had before from a different location because of how good it was. when we pulled up we were met by a less than intelligent individual (literally). I asked for the sugar cookie chai latte and he kept saying the sugar free latte. we went back and forth until he got it right. my fiancé then asks for a vanilla latte, he told us they didn't have vanilla, so he got a caramel. pulling up to pay everything looked right and before fully pulling away I tried my "chai" and it was a vanilla latte. we circled back around to get our drink fixed by a much more mentally capable person, he made our experience 10x better. we asked him is the music always loud and he said "yes, the songs are ass too" we laughed and agreed. he gave us our correct drink, my fiancé wishes him the best and we drove away, never to come back. the end. read more

We ordered 2 medium German chocolate iced lattes yesterday. Not only did we not get the promotion keychain they gave us 2 regular iced lattes. They were good but expected German chocolate. Too busy to go back. My advice make sure you double check order and taste before pulling away. read more
