Most visits take far too long, especially if there is more than one customer. The employees act as though they believe that the customers have unlimited time so they will chit chat or lallygag. This is a service based business so there needs to be a balance between "friendliness" and timeliness. I realize it's not a fast food joint but no one wants to wait 10-15 minutes for a smoothie or to simply pay for stocked items. This is the reason I don't shop here frequently anymore.

We came in and were greeted with warm smiles. There were so many options it was overwhelming to decide. The person working was polite and told us to take our time. If we didn't have somewhere to be, we would have loved to ask questions. We had to decide quickly, so my daughter picked the açaí bowl with bananas and strawberries. It was on the pricey side, I think around $8-9, but we figured it was worth it for the health benefits. The portion size made the cost seem more reasonable too! From order to delivery was less than 5 minutes and we were able to leave on time for our other commitment. Unfortunately, the açaí had a very unique flavor, and one my daughter was not a big fan of. I tried it and felt the same. She described it as tasting like chemicals, but I thought it must have been the natural after taste of the açaí berry. She ate the fresh fruit and add ins and begrudgingly scooped a little of the açaí in the process. I tried to eat what was left, but eventually had to let it go. All this said, we understand that açaí is probably just not our thing and based in the many options, we'll come back to try a smoothie or another healthy treat. So I highly recommend you check it out and perhaps ask for a sample to see if it is something you like. I don't know if that's an option here, but it seems like a place that would honor that.

Pair it with a smoothie and it makes for a pretty satisfying lunch without feeling like typical fast food. There's plenty of variety with the smoothies too, so while I have my favorites, I tend to bounce around the menu depending on what sounds good that day. Service is probably the weakest part of the experience, though I wouldn't call it bad. The staff tends to be more efficient than personable; you're not always getting the warmest interaction, but they work quickly enough and, most importantly, after plenty of visits they've been consistently accurate with my orders. The cafe itself is bright, casual, and generally clean, with a relaxed atmosphere that works whether you're grabbing something to go or sitting down for a quick lunch. After this many visits, Tropical Smoothie has proven to be a reliable stop. Good smoothies, surprisingly solid food, quick service, and that Thai Chicken Wrap keeps me coming back. Apparently returning something to Amazon has also become my excuse to grab a smoothie.
