I had no lunch plans and I knew exactly what I wanted for lunch. I arrive and the girl at the counter was having a bad day and I could tell. She avoided all any eye contact with me, she did not want to engage in any small talk and she was there to receive a pay check and that was that. Ok fine, I get it we all have bad days, just get me my food then. I ask her "how spicy is the spicy check wings?" So goes, "they are alright spicy." WTF, I'm giving a puzzling look and I'm not sure how to respond to that statement but whatever, I get it your cat died, your bf just broke up with you, your car insurance just went up 5%, sure I get it. I place an order for the spicy chicken wings and I wait. I take in the ambiance and it's a great place to chill and grab some bubble tea and lunch. I wait about ten mins and my wings are ready! When I walked up to get my wings I noticed there was some mochinut and I had to get some! I get three flavors, strawberry, taro, and green tea and then I head home to sample the food with my family. First up were the wings, they were scary looking but in a spicy kind of way. Was my stomach and whatever after comes after ready for these wings? I sure hope so! So I went in for my first bite and I was pleasantly surprised. The wings were super good! The flavoring and everything was fire, flame, hit the spot good. And the spice level was 'alright' (see what I did there?), it had a kick but nothing that my kids couldn't handle. My wife enjoyed the wings as well and she said they were good. I'm glad I stopped by and got the fried chicken wings to try because they were amazingly delicious and I'll be back for more. I finished off my lunch and tried some mochinut and they were good as well and you don't have any complaints from me on the food. The service on the other hand, get a new girl who wants to come to work and put on a smile. Like I said I understand we all have bad days but for me to write it in my review it must have been really bad. Great job on the food Cloud Tea. I visited the Algonquin 7 Brew location on Saturday to take advantage of the BOGO promotion, and…read moreunfortunately, the experience was disappointing from start to finish. The first issue was the drive-thru line. There was construction happening in the parking lot, and employees were directing traffic. The car directly in front of me was allowed to enter the drive-thru, but I was instructed to drive all the way around the parking lot and follow the cones. What made it frustrating was that I later watched other vehicles being directed straight into the line. The process seemed inconsistent and unnecessarily confusing. Once I finally got into line, there were several employees standing near the entrance talking while customers waited. It took a while before anyone approached my vehicle to take my order. When an employee did come over, I asked about one of the promotional drinks. He wasn't familiar with what was in it and had to leave and ask someone else. While I understand employees are still learning, I expected a little more familiarity with the menu and promotion. The biggest issue was at the payment window. The music was so loud that I could barely hear the employee speaking. I had to repeatedly ask her to repeat herself and eventually found myself raising my voice just to communicate. It made the interaction frustrating and unnecessary. Another disappointment was the pricing. One of the reasons I originally chose 7 Brew over other coffee chains was the value. When I first started going about eight months ago, my large drink with cold foam was around $7 and change. Now that same drink is over $9. I understand prices increase, but when you're paying more, you also expect consistency. The cold foam in my drink was minimal, especially considering it is an additional charge. I've visited this location three separate times and have had similar experiences each time. I kept giving it another chance because it's only about seven minutes from my house, but this visit was the final straw. At this point, I'd rather drive the extra 20+ minutes to the Huntley or Lake Zurich locations than return to the Algonquin location. Between the inconsistent traffic direction, employees standing around while customers waited in the lot, lack of product knowledge, excessively loud music, and disappointing drink execution, this location has lost my business.

I kinda don't know the difference as my shake had candy in it (and maybe some milk and some soft serve--while I think my daughters was all ice cream--but I'm guessing because I would have thought the cyclone would have candy while the milkshake would be all ice cream and milk...but no bother while I'm guessing my daughters had only ice cream (I was chatting with another family we met while waiting in the long line so I didn't watch too closely) but boy when I got the ice cream it was totally worth it. I got the peanut butter cup (which had some amazing on chocolate ice cream) and my daughter got the snickers...those seem pretty standard, but they weren't standard at all...they put a very well packed small bit of ice cream on top of the shake/cyclone that really looks like raw cookie dough....i don't have a picture (there may be some in yelp) but this super packed, small ice cream was the piece that turned this up a notch....it just looked so darn appealing and it was great. The owner was super jive, saying they've been open about a year (and they had a big line after me too, so that was good to see) Overall while they had maybe a dozen different ice creams (they all seemed like high quality ice cream--and I think they have a few different flavored soft serves too which is intriguing for next time..... The positives- the ice cream was great and it LOOKED incredible...and that's more than half the battle. Everyone's items looked great too which really had me hungry when our ice cream was made -- and it was worth the wait. The negatives - the menu is a wee bit confusing...basically they need a menu as the light wall isn't very clear what things are....i know you can customize things but it's hard to tell what all the customizations were -- and they had several other menu items that I wasn't exactly sure what they might be. They also had a cool looking cotton candy maker right by the check out register but it wasn't marked as a cotton candy maker and I didn't notice any menu item that used cotton candy (and we were in line a long time). I wasmt alone in this confusion as the nice couple (who were ordering with their kids) ahead of me were also a bit confused....and obviously we had to wait a bit longer than expected (which while the store was full it wasn't exactly crazy crowded like I image it would be in the middle of summer). But trust me the good far outweighed the bad...it was worth the wait. My suggestions: 1. Have a handout/ paper menu that is much more descriptive (especially here where the ice cream is not facing the I Entrance so it's hard to know in advance what ice creams they have-- and also because they seem to have some more unique than standard ice cream shop items but I kinda didn't know what they were.::: They also could have a smaller option (the Medium milk shake is pretty large and the Small Cyclone is more like a Medium elsewhere. I know many would applaud this, but I kinda like less is more with ice cream (as after so much it doesn't have that same appeal even it it tastes good :) ) My suggestions -- beyond the above:..: Play into the Scooby Doo thing legally by having things like 'The Creeper' which would be maybe a mint chocolate chip (which they didn't have bet) and the Mystery Machine or Scoopy Snack etc. just play on the name without having Scooby Doo... We will be back before the summer 2026 wraps.
