The barista, remembering me from earlier, asked what else I would like. I told her I wanted to try a pourover and asked for her recommendation. After confirming that I liked light roasts, she said I might like the Costa Rica Santa Maria. I drank my cortado in much more haste than usual to get to my pourover (they use a Hario V60 type, for you pourover people). On my first sip of the pourover, I noticed the light acidity, but it was somehow different, in a good way. I couldn't really explain how it was different, since I'm not a real coffee nerd. The coffee was good, more delicate but not in a weak way. It was a new and interesting experience for me. I'm glad I went back to wait in line again. Try the pourover if you can spare the extra time.

So we left and took our business elsewhere. Grand Junction has already been a weird stop for us, and after this experience, we'll definitely be skipping this place in the future.

When we first walked in the hostess greeted my friends like they were family. You could tell that she knew the kids and that the kids knew her so they went there often enough. She already knew what the kids like to drink and said she would grab it right away. They also offer wooden toys for the kids to play with throughout their meal. And you can take the toy home if the kid really wants them! I thought that was really sweet and a great way to keep the kids entertained while the adults could talk! I got the chocolate chip pancakes with hashbrowns and bacon. The pancakes were very fluffy and loaded with chocolate chips! Exactly what I want :-) the potatoes were crispy and delicious! The bacon was crispy too. Overall, I think this was a great place to meet for breakfast especially cause it's kid friendly.
