Man I love this place and have been going here since I was a kid. The reopening just brought it back even better. Almost always it's nothing but delicious. However this last time was a tad disappointed. We arrived about 8:35 in the drive through which was packed. No big deal and we were willing to wait. 8:55 still in line one of the workers walks out the back and I hear her say something similar to "what the f**, we close in 3 minutes and we have all these f** people". Wasn't too bothered by it as I get it I've worked in fast food before and it can be annoying when you get a rush right before close. Just thought she should be more professional. Finally we get upfront to order and find out from her they are only doing cups and cones because they "closed 12 minutes ago technically". They wouldn't even let us add any toppings on it. We still enjoyed some ice cream but definitely were disappointed being that we wanted other things and were there almost half an hour before closing. If you're gonna serve the rest of your customers on site before closing at least fully serve them. Also management I would recommend doing some simple coaching with these employees on professionality and such around closing. I get it I've been there myself but you still have to serve the people in your place to the best of your ability before it shuts down. That's just food business. read more

Great place for a sweet treat. They have plan ole Ice cream cones or you can go all the way with sundaes, banana splits, ice cream sandwiches. I'm a plain vanilla ice cream girl, but this time I decided to try the peach ice cream too. I got a small cup and that was enough for me. They don't serve in scoops, but in ounces. While Graff Dairy has had several owners, the original opened in 1964. The original building has been expanded, but as you can see from the pictures it still has that fantastic retro feel complete with mid-century colors and old trucks parked out front. We were introduced to this ice cream place by relatives who live in the area. It's always a treat and one of the highlights when we make a pilgrimage to Graff Dairy during our visits! The homemade soft serve ice cream is delicious! There are regular flavors and specialty flavors that change weekly. You can find out their flavors of the week on their Facebook page. They offer sundaes, shakes and malts. They also offer other desserts and food, but I've only purchased ice cream when I've visited. Maybe it is a good thing that we can only visit during our visits. First trip for me to Colorado, specifically Grand Junction but for newbie tourist, we've come to Graff Dairy TWICE. Sunday night was crazy with drive thru line onto street. Hubby and I both got glaciers. I got fluffer nutter with oreo mix in. Hubby got peach with strawberry mix in. My glacier was DELICIOUS and container lickable good. Hubby not so happy with fruit. Day 2, got almond toffee glacier with Reeses sauce mix in. Good but last night was better. Hubby content with salted caramel with oreo mix in. Even got two pup cups for our furbabies. So yummy. Simple, fast, affordable, food was fantastic. Customer service was great. We had been on the road for 14 hours and were staying in town and looking for somewhere to eat where we could have our dogs with us. Really delicious ice cream and sundaes. This has become a local favorite for us. Their ice cream is actually a lot better if it is frozen solid, so we usually buy a pint and put it in the freezer for later. I think they'd do well if they sold it that way in local stores. The Polish dogs are quite tasty. The portions are big! Beware. I don't recommend most of the flavors of the week. The coconut is do die for though! They also have ice creams on rotation, like the lavender-flavored ice cream, so be sure to ask about any specials or seasonal items. And you can get milkshakes in dozens of different flavors, to include cookies and cream, peaches and cream, apple pie, s'mores, peanut butter and jelly, blueberry, strawberry, pina colada and mroe. Was in GJ for Country Jam 2025 and decided I needed a sweet treat. Gregg Dairy definitely hit the spot and satisfied my sweet tooth! The root beer float was amazing and the prices aren't that bad in all honesty. They are fast and swift in the drive thru and friendly and helpful inside the establishment. Love the Dodge pickups outside as well adds to the "farm" aspects and aesthetics. Only problem I see with Graff Dairy is the amount of fliesthat are inside the establishment. Excellent spot to drop in for a cone or espresso. Service is minimal, but usually really fast and during the warm months the patio is pleasant. I wish they had old-fashioned ice cream, as all they serve is soft serve. Because of that, I'd argue that Enstrom's actually has "the best ice cream on the Western Slope", but the peach pulled pork and hot dogs make this a nice locally-owned option. read more

Graff takes me back to the days of when I was a teenager living in GJ looking for an inexpensive way to hang out with friends and grab a cone. These days when I visit the family, my niece requests to go several times so she can get her salted caramel brownie glacier. On this trip, I had the turtle glacier which was awesome. It was like having a candy bar in a cup with their smooth vanilla soft serve layered with caramel, chocolate, pecans and topped with whipped cream. I like the visits with family where it spans over two different months, so I can try the flavor of the month. My favorite so far has been their pistachio but their blackberry, pink lemonade and coffee have all been very good as well. You can't go wrong with Graff. Either walk up and order or drive through. Really enjoyed the peach cobbler and their vanilla ice cream is some of the best I've had. The Bad: There is a wait as it is popular but not really bad, just something to be aware of. We moved to Grand Junction in March of '23 and soon discovered Graff Dairy and enjoyed their ice cream approximately a half dozen times last summer.. it was yummy and I was very impressed .. my history with Ice cream spans close to sixty years having worked in the 6th McDonald's ever built .. plus working at a premium ice cream restaurant in Chicago .. plus selling foodservice products in San Francisco for close to 20 years .. Last summer I felt the the butter fat content of their product was closed to 12% (Hagen Das is close to 15%) .. Unfortunately the cone I purchased last Tuesday was close to being inedible (I actually threw is away) .. what I was served was closer to ice milk ( between 6-8% butter fat) .. pretty disgusting - not at all what we had enjoyed last summer - maybe we'll try again - but was extremely disappointed ... read more

I am a travel nurse from Georgia who was introduced to Graff Dairy by a co-worker. I was more than thrilled and excited because I thought I had found something unique. I came every day or every other day until 12/02/24. I arrived at just about closing time. I decided to order a larger size of ice cream instead of the typical cup. I can not remember if the young man who serviced me said it was a pint or large. I paid 9.85 which included a 25% discount and a tip. I have a Boy Scout discount card. I could not wait to get home and enjoy. When the container was given to me, I knew something was wrong. The ice cream was like in a soupy state and dripping down the sides of the container. It did not have the purple berry looking color I was use to...I believe it was called Huckleberry. I had purchased this flavor many times before. It looked like soupy vanilla ice cream. I called out to the young man who had given me the container. He would not turn around. I yelled, Sir, Sir, Excuse Me....he walked faster and faster and hurried back into the store. He heard me.....Another gentleman came outside and I got his attention. I advised that the ice cream was soupy and did not have the color I was expecting. This young man advised that what I had was indeed Huckleberry ice cream without the coloring. He walked away. I was puzzled. I went home and tasted the ice cream. I knew immediately that something was wrong. The product was like soup (not firm/semi firm at all like I had experienced in the past) and it did not have any flavor to it at all. It tasted like very sugary melted cream. I was very upset!!!! I took the product back the next day and was treated very rudely by someone who said her name was Genevieve (not sure if she was telling the truth). She said she was the manager on duty. Before I could get my complaint out of my mouth, she said we can't take that back. I asked, Why? She said, I do not know when you bought that. I advised that I had purchased it the night before just before closing and she continued to say, I do not know when you bought that. I tried to inform her that it was not the product that I ordered but she talked over me and would not allow a two way conversation. I pulled up my banking account to show her the charge and she said that did not matter because a refund could not be given. Proof of purchase/ receipts are not given or even offered to the customer. I stopped coming after this incident. I had a very bad taste in my mouth. This is wrong!!!!.....I reached out via the website for a refund and of course I was ignored. read more
