Overall The Coffee Trader is okay. I've been here a couple times and nothing has wowed me, but it is a nice place to meet up with people. The speciality coffee blends are a little more creative than most, I just don't find them to be that tasty. The ambiance is fun, clean and bright. There's always a nice amount of patrons, parking is easy, but it's basic. It's a nice central spot to meet family when I'm in town, but I think I'll stick to a basic coffee v. trying anymore speciality drinks.

The first mistake was the lack of cold brew and nitro cold brew. I would say always have that option for maximum chill.

The coffee and food are consistently amazing. Definitely the best coffee in GJ! The staff are personable and talented baristas.

However, the inside was gorgeous with tall windows and nice decor. You walk into the Maverick hotel and go the 4th floor to get there. 3 out of the 4 of us in our group ordered the Shakshuka, which was flavorful and delicious to soak the sourdough into. I recommend over easy or over medium for your eggs on this. Served with feta and sliced avocado on top. We also got the avocado toast with smoked salmon and were pleasantly surprised to see that it came with entire filet of salmon for only an extra $6. We were expecting a few slices of salmon, but this was great! The fresh toast was ordered for the table. I found it to be a 7/10. Loved the peach inside, but was underwhelmed overall. If you're a group of 4 maybe consider getting the fresh press coffee, which our server recommended we do. Perfect serving size for us, but if your group drinks a lot of coffee just get the drip. Chalee was our server, and she was wonderful and kind. AC was BLASTING, if you run cold bring a sweater.

The last time I ordered it there were half the bananas that there used to be. There were 2 cherry halves. Bananas cost 69 cents. This is ridiculous and not likely to save money. Today I inquired about it and was told that "chef is very strict about it" and they could not increase the amount of banana in the dish. He has also removed the beef tips from the menu. This was my husband's favorite. This new chef is not local and apparently needs some education regarding local expectations. Although I have been a loyal customer, I may not be able to recommend the restaurant in the future.

The greens added a little kick, the onions perfectly sliced; almost paper thin. The green chiles cut into little morsels add that Smokey bit we crave when we think of fiesta style foods. There were bits of queso fresco crumbled over the whole thing, giving that tang. Even the brown rice was treated with the utmost respect and has the most amazing flavor and hearty texture! Lastly, I'm sure someone back there made that citrus crema from scratch and I basically licked that little ramekin clean! Thank you, thank you! A stop anyone in Junction will not regret!

I could mention several criticisms of recent managerial decisions, but I'll just limit it to one. The "American Breakfast" has disappeared, replaced by an a la carte ordering model. I assume this reflects price creep and the reality that the market will not support a $20 counter-service breakfast (especially one that prompts for pre-tipping) when a comparable $12 option is available across the street at a full-service restaurant. Combined with long wait times and lukewarm food, caused by either amateurs in the kitchen or lackadaisical food delivery by the counter-staff, Cafe Sol has regretfully moved to my "occasionally OK" list.

Definitely a five star experience *chefs kiss*…read more They do service by name here so you know that it is personable and that you're not getting someone else's order. The workers are very friendly and work to make your experience the best. The establishment itself is fairly small and can feel a bit crowed but they do what they can with the space that they have. The Elk Tartare was a new dish for me and I don't have any complaints about it, very well made. But the Cured Duck Breast is what I came for, and it did not disappoint. Cooked perfectly and complimented well with the green pico. If you have a chance to try Bin 707, I recommend you do it! Very well worth.

We both enjoyed a bottle of wine from a local Colorado outfit, a nice Pinot noir, and my wife had a burger, which is what the place is known for. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very attentive and friendly. The burger was pretty good as expected. I'm a big fan of duck so that's what I went with and going down it tasted pretty good but later than night it was clear I developed food poisoning and was up most of the night regretting my decisions. My wife and I shared the same meals and drinks throughout the day with the exception of dinner so it was evident the duck was the culprit. Unfortunate, but I'd recommend sticking with the burgers if you go.
