I ordered a banana split but it's only comes with either chocolate or vanilla. You are not able to get both only on flavor. There is not much variety to the choice and you are stuck only with certain banana without mixing any. Personally, I have known banana split to be come with multiple flavors. Great place to go for anything but good ice cream. Okay, I'm an out-of-towner who stopped by Graff Dairy to get some local-favorite ice cream. Location is charming, with a red barn aesthetic, as well as some very nice backdrops for photographs. They also seemed to employ a large number of local youths, which is a credit to the owners and the community. However, the soft serve itself wasn't anything to write home about. Priced at big-city froyo levels, and not cold enough to hold its shape for any appreciable time in the dry high desert environment, our banana split started off appealing, but quickly converted to a homogeneous soup with banana chunks. Soft serve ice cream wasn't especially flavorful either - no unique nose, no malt notes, no interesting texture; just commercial-tasting soft serve that is available at a college dining hall or Hometown Buffet anywhere. The lack of even halfway decent customer service in Grand Junction never ceases to amaze me. I have been to Graff Dairy four times and just left without food for a second time. This is after sitting in a short line waiting on someone to walk up to my car window to place my order. Because they don't have an actual way to order before reaching the food window in 2021. The first time I went to Graff I purchased a milkshake and hotdog. I wasn't impressed with either, but did notice a pulled pork BBQ sandwich on the menu. The second time I went, I got the BBQ sandwich - ordered plain. The BBQ was tasty, but the bun was an absolute soggy mess. I live less than a mile away from Graff, so it was less than 5 minutes before trying to eat it. The bun had to be thrown out. The third time I went, I arrived a few minutes after 7 PM, only to be told they don't serve hot food after 7 PM. I thought okay, I won't make that mistake again. So, we come to today. I decide BBQ sounds good for dinner. But I can't get it after 7 PM, so I stop in about 2:30 PM. They are not busy and there is only a very short line in the drive thru. The person outside taking orders has 'trainee' on her tag. Which is fine, everyone needs to be trained. I tell her I want four pulled pork BBQ sandwiches. I want them plain, no slaw - just BBQ. I ask for the meat and buns to be packaged separately, because this is for dinner later. I never even gave it a thought that this would be any kind of issue. As a trainee, she said she needed to go ask about that. Which seemed odd, but she is training. I would have gladly paid a little extra for an additional container or two. But that wasn't even an option, just 'no we don't separate them'. I was stunned and dumbfounded. Their lack of basic customer service might be understandable if they had been busy. But they were not busy at all at 2:30 PM in the afternoon. I have learned my lesson; I will not be back. The lack of competent or even adequate customer service training in GJ was on full display. I could give them five stars if not for how difficult they make it to do business with them. Multiple times this winter I've pulled into their lot to enjoy a sundae or some treat and the lobby is locked, the walk up window closed, so I left. They don't seem to get the problem. If the only option you have is the drive through you have to make three left turns to get back into the parking lot to enjoy the food, or eat it while driving or wait till you're home and half the ice cream is melted. A few weeks ago I was there for a minute before I left, a truck pulled in with kids and they also left when they found everything shut but the drive through. They must be losing a fortune. If there was an award for "Business most difficult to do business with" I'd award it to Graff Dairy. read more

Too long didnt read version: I've only been there three times this year and I've had an issue every time. I usually just bring it up in their Facebook messenger and today I was blocked for voicing a legitimate complaint and not cussing not demanding not saying any demeaning things or anything at all and you can see that in the screenshots. ******* So I try to handle things privately when I have an issue and that's what I've done with Graff dairy in the past (one other time). Today I had another issue and I privately messaged them voicing my concern and last time I had an issue. Previously I refused to take any kind of compensation or a remake because that's not the point in me bringing up a concern. Well if today they decided that they were going to block me from messaging them or commenting on their page when I sent them a legitimate concern through Facebook messenger not publicly. So now I have to be public with the fact that I'm upset with their service. I have two children on the autism spectrum and specifically my son has a lot of sensory issues so ice cream cones are a dangerous endeavor to say the least. Typically we go to McDonald's and just get a cheap cone for today I wanted to treat them to something I consider to be better at least are used to consider to be better. So in an effort to mitigate the risks that I know that I'm inevitably going to have to deal with and my son having panic attacks because he gets a little bit of ice cream on his hand I placed my order like this: "hey can I get a chocolate ice cream cone soft serve and can you make it like extra small so that way it doesn't make a huge mess? Like I'll just pay for the kids cone or whatever just make it smaller than normal." What was handed to me was an ice cream cone that was smashed at least a half an inch below the edge of the cone and super wide....as everybody who's ever eaten ice cream knows it's going to go everywhere. Instead of getting angry or pulling the ice cream cones out of my children's hands I just told them I didn't want the glacier anymore and got a few extra napkins and took the cups that they offered me. I asked for my money back to the glacier because I wanted to illuminate any risk of other issues because I knew my son was about to freak out no matter what I did and I just wanted to get out of there and get home. So on my way home the inevitable happened to my son got it on his hands and started freaking out and I had to pull over and wipe him down and stop his freaked out because he was trying to unbuckle himself and that's not his fault and it's not something I'm complaining about because I love my children and I will deal with everyone of their panic attacks and texture freak out for the rest of their lives if I have to. So I decided I would message Graff dairy privately and voice my concerns. Back on May 9 I message them because I had a different issue which I will not discuss right now and I told him I did not want any compensation for the issue I merely just wanted to bring it up to them and I would come back in the future which was today. When I went through today I did not mention any prior issues I did not ask for any extra anything or any discounts and I would never. So I messaged them explaining that this was the third time I've been there this year and the third time that I've had an issue and it's the second time that I've ever complained to them about an issue with food in anyway. According to Facebook messenger September 22, 2021 is the only other time I've ever messaged them and that's because there was something wrong with the phone. To the best of my memory I was trying to call and either check for availability of something or hours of operation because I was going to take my kids there and I think I tried to go there but the door was an open or something I can't remember but I tried to call a few times and no one answered at least that's my memory of it. I had a great but less than productive conversation with Jeremy and I told him I would be doing this and unfortunately it is what it is. read more

I LOVE THE FLAVORS OF THE WEEK...and the hotdogs. When I took my sister for the first time we used the seating area at the front. It was nice and clean but I have only used it once. I normally use the drive through it is usually quick. This is a family friendly establishment with great prices. The staff has always greeted me with a great attitude. The big grass field in the front makes it perfect to sit out during the summer and enjoy your ice cream and/or food all the way until close times. Cute place!! Being from out of town I came here based on yelp reviews . They only sell soft serve ice cream..kinda reminds me of Dairy Queen. But it was delicious!! I think I tried a mix called glacier or a avalanche (it's a blizzard-I once worked at DQ Oreo and mint chip ) I wish they sold smaller sizes than 12 Oz though..I only ate half. They also have sandwiches and hot dogs. It was really good. I agree with other reviewers.. if you really are not a creamery I would just shorten to Graffs. Great job! read more

The ice cream was just soft serve. It was ok but don't order food. It took forever to get a pint of bbq and a cup of gr. chili to go. Everyone behind me in line ordered ice cream and were all served before me. BTW the food sucked!! It was very spicy and the bbq was so greasy we had to rinse it off before we could eat it. read more
