Asked for vanilla sweet cream foam twice: once when I was asking for my order and a second time after he read back the order incorrectly. Made a mobile order and the lady at the drive through was very upset at me that I was there early. I got a lecture from her and she was very rude about it and said they would try to have it ready. Mind you there was no line and I even told the person at the window I could drive around if it was that big of a deal. Let me start by saying we have a neighborhood Starbucks that we left a few years ago because of the awful service and coffee was substandard. We found Kamp Washington and it is the best ever. Well worth the two mile hike! My daughter and I do a weekly Sunday drive and we start it off by stopping at Starbucks at Kamp Washington. They offer the best service and coffee. Justin, one of the baristas there is the best world wide. Believe me when I say world wide because I am an international traveler and a Starbucks connoisseur. It's like coffee made with TLC! As for the management there, they are always pleasant and welcoming. If you want the best Espresso Con Panna, Brown Sugar Oat milk Cortado, or any drink, just pull up and go for it. I had an odd experience at this drive thru today. The drive thru employee kept telling me to have a "Great Tuesday." I thought he was hinting at me to leave a tip... As I was waiting for my drink, the employee says "your drink will be out soon, they're putting extra love into it." I got my drink, I tipped him $1, he thanks me and as I was pulling away, I noticed that my drink had blue and brown fingerprints on the lid and cup. The side of the cup had off white dried foam-like stain from top to bottom. I was so disgusted, especially with the pandemic going on you would think they would be more sanitary when handling food & drinks. I pulled back into the drive through, explained the situation and told them they can have the drink back. The gentleman taking the order said they don't take drinks back due to sanitary reasons...well obviously! I was just trying to show them the unsanitary drink they gave me in the first place! I pulled up to the window, showed the employee at the window my drink, he seemed apologetic, but honestly I don't know if this was deliberate. He gave me a refund and offered to make me a new drink. Drive/thru Starbucks in this county are rare! We wanted to have puppacinos today! We packed up the fur-family and made our way to this Fairfax City Drive Thru. There was no line. The menus are clearly posted along the drive up lane. After placing my people coffee order, I asked for a couple of puppacinos. We pulled up and hey have us 2 very cute cups with lids. They looked delicious and our 2 pups enjoyed them. They are FREE! My latte was great, as always at Starbucks! The service was oh so friendly! I am guessing this Starbucks is fairly new, as I have never noticed it before when driving through the City of Fairfax. It's in a fairly new shopping center that was built on the site where the old Frank's Garden Center used to be. I stopped in late this afternoon - a cold, rainy, dark, wet day - in need of caffeine replenishment. Sensors indicated that caffeine levels had dropped to dangerously low levels - and that a core breach was imminent unless fresh quantities could be quickly injected into the system. This Starbucks has really stepped up their game recently. First of all, their drive through is impressive. They've gotten it down to a science. While you might think that a drive through would have to be an impersonal experience, it is quite the contrary. They have a video screen where you can interact with the barista. The last time I was there, they even let me sample their new nitro cold brew from my car. They go out of their way to be helpful and maximize your experience. When I was in the store lobby today, I ordered my usual blonde roast and the barista asked me if I'd tried any of the others. He encouraged me to sample them all. Five stars for the fact that this is one of the ONLY drive-thru Starbucks in Fairfax County. Ever since having my baby, this location has been on regular rotation for my caffeine fix... even though I literally drive past like 6 other Starbucks to get to it. It's worth the extra miles when you've got a sleeping babe in the backseat though! The staff here has always been extremely friendly, the technology is up-to-date in terms of the drive-through signage and digital screen (there's a thing where it basically FaceTimes you with the barista taking your order -- very cool!), and clearly until they put a drive-thru S-bux in Burke I will be continuing to make the drive here. I can't say I love this Starbucks for its drive thru...partially because I think the drive thru set up is a bit ridiculous. Not the concept it's the layout of the drive thru. Really your going in a square. For me that's not convenient especially on Fairfax boulevard or whatever that road is. Traffic is murder so you would think you would have an alternative route. Anyway...overall service and quality at this Starbucks is great haven't had any messed up orders or slight confusions or if there has been they are efficient enough to to figure it out. But I don't think I would go out of my way to get to this Starbucks it's really a traffic issue.also it is a small space not really a place to hangout although the they do have umbrellas and chairs outside where there is a small patio. read more

Honestly I'm not from Virginia I'm a New Yorker and I came to this Starbucks because it's a drive through instead of the 4 other closer Starbucks. I come here I place my order with a super sweet girl Jackie in the drive through. She was extremely kind. Unfortunately the girl who made my drink made it wrong. To not hold up the drive through line I went inside and kindly asked if they could give me more lemonade to add into my drink. Instead of being apologetic or even flat out kind both workers gave a problem about THEM making MY drink wrong. Saying if i want it a certain way I have to specify yet IT CLEARLY SPECIFIED ON MY CUP WHAT I WANTED AND DID NOT RECEIVE. A simple yes no problem I'm sorry I'll get that right for you. Or even a no problem let me get it for you. But instead tried to make me seem like the problem. If my drink wasn't made right I wouldn't have had to go inside. I work for customer service and i understand how it can get. But if you don't like your job get another one. Because clearly the customer service skills aren't there. read more

They have a decent amount of space too if you want to chill and enjoy your drink. BUT to be able to drive-thru, it's worth the hassle. The parking lot isn't so bad, but trying to get into the drive-thru line is a MAJOR pain. Traffic around here is always pretty bad. I really like this Sbux! They are super friendly and really fast.. All the employees are always doing something and keep the customer as their first priority. The only thing that drives me nuts is the older African American lady who is soooooo flipping loud! She is obnoxious and at a lot of the time she speaks to the employees as if they are children. Have to say today's experience at this location happened to be the worst and it started with Martina who waited on me. She needs retraining across the board. Usually service is quick, accurate and very good, unfortunately today was not the case. Martina was slow, and just didn't seem to care about her customers. I ordered two things and got a $20 gift card. For starters, the gift card and the food/drink had to be two separate transactions even though I was paying cash for both. Second I ordered the food -- a piece of pumpkin bread warmed and a grande hot chocolate, both I had had before. Well as she gave me change, she said, don't forget the tip. For a second I didn't know what she was talking about and then I saw the tip jar on the counter. I thought to myself, that was quite rude of her to remark about a tip. Ok, so my hot chocolate gets made and I pick it up and I'm waiting, and waiting and waiting for my pumpkin bread. Usually whomever takes your order takes care of the food and gives it to you right away. As I'm waiting for my food while holding my hot chocolate, Martina motions to a co-worker to take care of her food items. They are majorly behind and have 4 or 5 tickets waiting to be filled. Eventually I say something like what's going on. Mind you I had been in the location for more than 10 minutes and had no one in front of me when I arrived. Never had a problem prior to this. Martina definitely needs some retraining or moved to a different job in this location. Not a good experience and definitely not typical of my experiences at Starbucks in general. read more
