Kudos for Matt! When we are on our way to Bend from the coast, we stop to get "one for the road" after lunch next door. Seeing that some pandemic practices have been added to the daily routine, I can no longer add my own milk to my tea - not a big deal. While I was trying to figure that out, Matt brought out my beverage PLUS a smaller cup about half full of milk/half-and-half so I could make my tea to my taste after all. People *love* to hate on Starbucks, but I downright *love* Starbucks. The coffee is delicious, full stop. Yet some people insist it's "sour" or "bitter". Why? Because these people enjoy scolding us to always Shop Local. They have to trash Starbucks because they are not a locally-owned shop. They self-righteously clutch their pearls at the suggestion they go anywhere else. But you know what? That brew you're drinking was made from beans flown from Ethiopia to Chicago, where they roasted them and then flew them here. That quirky cup you're using? Made in China. Same thing with the espresso machine. Maybe get your coffee to go in a paper cup made from felled trees. We should support the local economy they say. But Starbucks hires many, many more people than your local spot and thereby pumps many times more money into the local economy. To restate: Starbucks coffee is delicious. And it's hot, and yes, consistent everywhere you go. I've noticed that every one I visit, the (mostly younger) staff seem to be really enjoying themselves. I am sure Starbucks treats its people well. I like this particular location the most because it's convenient, and they don't have a drive-through. You have to get out of your car and step inside to the experience, which is always pleasant. read more

The people here are nice and seems like that enjoy what they are doing. I rarely go out for coffee, and if I'm looking for something really delicious and high quality, I wouldn't choose Starbucks and would rather go to a more local shop in town. But, I go to Starbucks for the consistency, one or two peppermint mochas during the holiday season, and the ease of convenience with ordering ahead in the app. This location is nice and typically Starbucks, however, the lack of drive thru here is a downside for me. read more

Background: I literally feel like my 3 daughters kinda grew up in this store. They were just babies and I'd visit several times a week with one strapped to my chest and 2 in a double stroller. 3 little girls, just 16 months apart. Now they're 25, 24 and 23. Fast forward years later, after moving back to the area, what a big difference! Went in and customer service is just awful. I empathize with the craziness that the on-line ordering brings, population growth, etc, but it only takes a fraction of a second to look up and smile. After all, the prices have also grown to ridiculous proportions, and when I asked for whipped cream that was forgotten, the look and reaction was as if I called someone's baby ugly! 2nd time I have felt hurry the heck up and get out of the way! The Starbucks business model "was" better than this! Perhaps management needs to dust off the old training manuals and go back to the basics. Please ask your baristas to make eye contact, throw a smile, possibly (gulp) ask customers how they're doing? How their days going? Don't let the crummy customer who was a jerk at 6am dictate the vibe for the rest of the day and make the super nice people feel like we have to apologize for being there and ordering in person vs pre- ordering. I even tried smiling and got frigid looks back. The old me would have felt embarrassed. Now I just feel sad for the state of affairs we find ourselves in. As one of a few locations offering exotic - international boutique coffee blends and comfortable outdoor seating, the Coburg/Oakway Starbucks sets the bar for other locations. The staff is friendly too. I don't rank 5 stars because the hours are too limited. Should be open until midnight (instead of 9 or 10) everyday. read more

This Starbucks pissed me off. I had a coupon for $2 off food that was expiring yesterday. I tried to use it at the Safeway Starbucks earlier in the day, but they informed me they don't participate in the Starbucks rewards program. So I came to the Oakway one instead. They close at 10pm, and I walked in at 9.35pm. The entire pastry/sandwich cooler was completely empty. I asked them if I could use my coupon on packaged cookies or something, but no, it had to be fresh food. And the guy swore up and down that there was none left. They clear it out by 9.30pm, which is only 5 minutes ago, and half an hour before closing!! I asked if they had nothing in the back, and he said no, they give it all to the homeless. (Within 5 minutes?!) I asked him about their savory croissants, because I've gotten those wrapped before, and they have expiration dates of several months ahead (yeah, little scary). But he insisted they threw those out too. That makes no sense! They're still wrapped, and months from expiring, and he threw them out? No way that is true. I ask him if there is anything at all I can spend my coupon on? He assures me: No. Somewhat annoyed, I look around the store, only to realize there's ANOTHER cooler behind me, still completely stocked with sandwiches, fruit, and lunch boxes. I ask him if it works for those, and he says: Sure! So then why did he tell me just a minute earlier there was nothing I could spend it on?!? I mean, he was standing there facing the fridge which was behind me! He was completely unapologetic too, he just looked annoyed that I wanted to buy something, a "mere" half hour before closing. "Run and don't stop running!" While the barista served up my house 8oz., an under-the-weather employee slumbered out of the back room looking near death and put his head on the bakery counter. The co-worker announcement of how sick he was sent me straight to the washroom. If the smells from that hall came from the sickie Star-bucker, Uh-Oh! Then I proceeded to slip in water that had clearly been leaking from under the coffee counter all day! Ugh! Outside was no better. Litter & sticky tables... After experiencing the Delta Highway location, this place ROCKS. 100% accuracy on probably a dozen visits with a variety of orders. Busy hours? No problem - never waited more than 3 minutes. Seating is limited but the patio is big. This is a Starbucks reserve with a clover machine as well. Staff is always delightful. Haven't had a bad experience yet. Sometimes there is only one dude working the drinks and he hauls - respect. read more

I came in early one morning to order coffee for my family. At the register, after I ordered, I realized that somehow I had lost my wallet and didn't have any money. The lead gave me my coffees and food for no charge. Later when I called to see if someone had turned in my wallet, I went back to pick it up and pay for the drinks she had given me. She handed over my wallet and wouldn't let me pay. Thanks Starbucks team! And thanks to the person who found my wallet! read more
