Of all the croissants in the Sacramento area, this one from Mellobun is one of my top contenders for best in the city (favorite is Julian's in Folsom). It has a nice crust and delicate interior that is fluffy and just the right saltiness. The Korean cream cheese was too sweet for my palate but it's always fun to try flavored versions of classic Viennoiserie. I was expecting a more savory cheese bread but this is definitely a sweet + onion flavor. Customer service is very responsive. The baked goods were a little late from scheduled pick-up and the bakery texted me to confirm new time; was missing a croissant in my box and the team quickly refunded for the correct amount of goods.

Their roast is robust without being bitter or overpowering. Not the strongest cup of coffee I have ever had, but very good nonetheless. If you prefer more kicked, then I would have them add an extra shot. Off of their Panini menu, I tried a grilled cheese sandwich that I added bacon to. All of the ingredients on the inside of the Panini were terrific, but the star of the show is thick cut sourdough bread. When toasted up as part of being a grilled cheese, it is crunchy and flavorful. A tremendous sandwich. I look forward to returning to try something else on the menu. This is strictly a breakfast and lunch place. They close at 2 PM, however, it is worth making the drive and trying Tule. It was ceremonial grade (as advertised) but a very weak matcha. Natural sweetness: none Balanced bitterness: towards the end of the drink, there's a hint of bitterness. Aftertaste: a hint of seaweed. Overall it's your everyday matcha. It was a good balance between matcha and oat milk. No flavor overpowering each other. And That's why I say it's a good everyday matcha. While I was still waiting, the waiter said, "I'll be back with your waffles," even though I had ordered avocado toast with no egg. The chilaquiles and Mexican mochas were good. However, the avocado toast had absolutely no flavor, and the potatoes had no seasoning. I only ate them because I had paid for them. I understand that restaurants get busy, but at a minimum, staff should check in, acknowledge the delay, and reassure customers that they haven't been forgotten. Instead, we waited nearly 50 minutes with very little communication. The long wait, order confusion, lack of communication, and bland food made the overall experience disappointing, especially at this price. If you decide to go to Xulo, hold off on tip until after you receive your food and see how the service actually is on that day. Don't make the same mistake I made. It's a small coffee truck tucked into a tiny lot next to another business on Elk Grove Florin Road in between Bond Road and Elk Grove Blvd. Even though there's only 2 people working, their service was professional and courteous. At first I was wondering why they took someone's order then stepped away to make drinks before they thanked us for our patience and came back a few minutes later to take the orders for the person in front of me then myself. I'm not a coffee drinker but I thought I'd try their hot chocolate and banana muffin. Their hot chocolate was actually hot and stayed hot much longer than most other places' hot chocolates. It had a really creamy cocoa taste which I loved. Their banana muffin with walnuts was flavorful as well. I kind of wish they offered the option for warm muffins as mine was cold but it was still good. The only negative I could possibly think of is their parking situation. I was fortunate enough to be on my bike but it was kind of worrying to see cars trying to enter and exit. Maybe 3 or 4 cars tops can park in their tiny lot and I witnessed people constantly honking at each other while trying to enter and exit. She chose Carpenter coffee roasters which is a small local coffee truck right off Elk Florin. We parked and walked up to the truck. I was hesitant because of the small menu, but don't let that fool you because the coffee they use is really REALLY GOOD! We ordered an iced vanilla latte and an iced white mocha. I usually stay away from drinks with dairy (lactose intolerant, LOL) but my daughter ordered my drink and gave me the: "just try it" look. And boy was she right! The coffee they use cuts through but the white chocolate created a smooth creamy aftertaste. Soooo good! As for my daughter Latte, it disappeared, but failed to give me her review jumping on the plane Like any place, for food or drink not everyone's palette is the same so you'll have to try for yourself but be honest for other yelpers out there.
