This Starbucks is steps away from the CTA Armitage Brown line. To access the restroom, a paid patron will need to inquire the access code from one of the baristas on duty. People who visit any Starbucks should take advantage of their mobile app ordering. This is one of the best things that the company has ever done and I really enjoy using it! I know what deals and coupons available in my app. It also simplifies tha process of customizing my drink and redemption. We were there to pick up our order one hour before closing. The space was a bit dirty, but most people who were dining in were about to leave for the day. On a positive note, plenty of outlets on the walls were offered, so it would be ideal for those who want to get some homework and studying done on their laptops or mobile devices. read more

This Starbucks is nothing short of a dumpster fire any and every time I have ever been here. THEY ARE THE BEST BARISTAS EVER ! I love this location because I always feel so welcomed by them. It's like an extended family. Carmen is always so sweet and has my food and drink ready once I get here. Tanya always gives me such good energy and always compliments me which starts my day off right. I get my coffee here often. After some initial COVID challenges, they've got the system down, and the service is usually very good.

I love this Starbucks location. It's right in the heart of Lincoln Park in a really nice area. There is plenty of seating for those looking to study or chat and the staff has to be some of the friendliest people I've met. I came in to redeem some of my stars on an iced coffee and the barista upgraded me despite my stars only qualifying for the hot coffee item. She was super accommodating and I will make sure to return to this Starbucks in the future. read more

The service leaves much to be desired and whoever does the purchasing for this store should move back to the suburbs... at LEAST 50% of the time they are sold out of the item I'm craving. I pick up coffee and a bite every day on my way to work, and walk right past this Starbucks because chances are that stopping will be a waste of my time. I'm getting tired of Starbucks. I don't know, I guess I'm getting bored with the vanilla latte...not that you can't count on the consistency each and every time...but today it wasn't about the coffee. After lunch at nearby Homeslice with some of my colleagues, I walked to this location to find a place to plop my laptop down to work. I forgot how busy this place gets...really busy. I mean not a single available spot to be found. Was it the bad weather that brought people in, or the DePaul students in the area working on their class assignments? Regardless, I found a great resting spot on the windowsill. I have to wonder if it was intentional, but the ledge is the exact size of a laptop! Very smart design concept. All they need to do is add some stools! 10 minutes after waiting I was able to find a spot at one of their 4-top tables designed like a library table where I joined three other gals. It was so refreshing to sit next to complete random locals, all of us working away on our laptops. I haven't seen a table configuration like this in any of the other locations. What a great concept! Overall, a great place to work even if you don't get a table of your own! read more

Yes Starbucks is everywhere. Yes there is better coffee out there. But I grew up with Starbucks and now they're what I call "comfort coffee." It's nice that no matter where I travel in the world a little piece of home is with me. This store has a great deal of hang out space (not that I do), terrific location, not too close or too far from DePaul. And the employees are pretty friendly. So that in addition to my favourite lattes makes them a 4 star in my book. =) read more

I think it's pretty hard to mess up a Starbucks, but the service here is just so off. Most of the time the employees make you wait about 2 minutes before acknowledging your presence even when you're the only person in line, and when they finally do take your order they act like they are doing you a favor. Another weird thing about this place is that they are perpetually out of creamer and milk. I've been here a number of times now since it's my neighborhood coffee shop, and I've had to ask for refills almost every time. I just don't get it. read more

I am a fan of coffee. I like fancy coffee from Metropolis and the crappy coffee we have here at my office (I am not going to complain about it...its free and it has caffeine in it). But more than anything I like the experience of going to a coffee shop and ordering my coffee. I am not one of those "I want a short, half skim, half cream, sugar-free 2 pump hazelnut, decaf mocha" sort of people. I am the girl that just wants a small cup of coffee. I like the atmosphere of coffee shops. I like seeing kids with tattoos and piercings and unfortunate hair cuts. I like seeing people quietly reading. Call me crazy, but my favorite part of the tv show FRIENDS was Central Perk. To me that is what a coffee shop be and what a coffee shop should look like. Enter in Starbucks. I think that I am just designed to dislike large corporations (well except for Target...I love Target). They come in, set-up shop, low-ball their competition, drive their competition out of business, and then jack-up their prices as soon as they are the only ones around. When I lived in Lawrence (the most anti-corporation town in Kansas) there were about 7 coffee shops in their downtown area. And then comes Starbucks thinking that they could take over. They put it on the corner right next to the Abercrombie and Fitch, American Eagle, and GAP. Also right across the street from La Prima Tazza (also known as the best coffee ever). I shook my fist at this store and vowed to never go in, which I didn't. Guess what....it was the worst performing Starbucks in the state! HAHAHAHAH.... So why am I writing this review of this Starbucks? Well because it is September and I can't resist their Pumpkin Spice Latte. I have tried every year, but it just happens. It means fall is here and it means that Mary is happy. Unlike other Starbucks I really feel as though this one has a sense of community. There is Nathaniel that stands out front and greets me every morning calling me gorgeous, there is the kid behind the counter that offers to buy a regular her morning coffee because she forgot her wallet, there is the group of kids huddled around their MACs working...and there is music playing in the background. While I don't walk out of there with an Iced Indonesian coffee I do walk out with a "tall, skim, pumpkin spice latte, no whipped cream, foam". Oh god...I am one of those people. read more

Worst Customer Service of any Starbucks EVER. On 2 different occasions I have been treated poorly by the baristas... Several times I have gone until this Starbucks and seen small dogs in line. The ones you really can't just tie around the tree b/c they are too small. Again I have seen this several times. But when I carried my 5 pound Pom in to Starbucks last Friday the barista literally scolded me yelling, "You can't bring your dog in here!" and acting like I'm an idiot b/c I didnt' know that. Yet I have seen the same people bring their dogs in so maybe they play favorites... Whatever fine I get it you sell food you can't have dogs. But she didn't have to be so rude and demeaning, totally embarassing me... & telling me to tie up my dog outside. What are you dumb or something - he's 5 pounds. Totally annoying and just plain rude. 2nd crappy situation - this past Friday I received an email from a co-worker for a free latte and she said it just worked for her down in the Loop. I tried to use it again at this Starbucks and was AGAIN yelled at and basically told what I was doing was ILLEGAL! Illegal?? I received an email from a frigging coworker and I brought it in. But according to the Barista it was Illegal! Are you kidding me??? Obvi if you can't tell that pissed me off extremely. Enough to never go back. Worst customer service ever. Starbucks you really need to get your act together and train your employees on being kind and courteous to PAYING customers. Go to Dunkin Donuts or even better Argo Tea. Never thought in a million years that I would take the time to write a review for a Starbucks. I mean, other than, say McDonalds or Subway, there isn't a place so ubiquitous and so utterly clearly defined in terms of expectation. That said, when exceptionally poor or offensive service is experienced which is not part of that expectation...Hence the review. I stopped in, waited at the counter while the girl was standing there on a phone call. Listen, I don't expect anyone to hang up, but how about at least some acknowledgement that I'm standing right in front of you. Even eye contact and a "hang on" gesture would work. Okay...ordered something basic. She grunted the total, to the point I couldn't understand her and so I gave her a dollar too much. She handed me the dollar back and through another couple grunts I kinda figured it out. A couple minutes later and there was a drink on the counter. Was it mine? I think so, but not quite sure...after a couple awkward moments I figured, it has to be mine, right? So I grabbed it and off I went. Now, I've only been to Starbucks a few, oh I donno, THOUSAND times, and I seem to recall they usually bark out "tall latte" or ""here's your grande frappuchino" or whatever... Yes I realize it's such a trivial, first-world issue, but it was actually pretty off-putting to be first ignored, then mumbled and grunted at, then left to stand there wondering, uh okay, are we done here yet? Just kind of weird, out of character, and disappointing. read more

This Starbucks is located right by the brown line which is very convenient when you are going to the train. I definitely am happy that Pumpkin Spice lattes are back and that is my current drink of choice until their winter coffees come back. I love a good cup of Starbucks to start the weekend off right, but this location was gross, crowded, and has a chaotic layout. I've been here a few times and there is always a long line for drinks and people crammed around the pick-up counter. On a February winter day, the store was literally sopping wet. Naturally, customers' boots and strollers will drag in snow, but the inattentiveness was an actual hazard. There was a caution cone haphazardly laid out, but no one attending to the standing water on the slick floor. The straw and napkin station was a mess. I've never seen another Starbucks where this would be acceptable. What's worse, the breakfast sandwiches were all sold out by 10:30am, but each was still laid out in the display case. No signage, no indication they were out. People in front and behind me in line were trying to order and the barista kept repeating herself that they didn't have any breakfast food left. Not a pleasant visit this morning. read more

Pretty average Starbucks but not as clean as the ones near my place. This store sees so much more traffic. It was either 50% off of everything or it was just the frappes today. Great deal!! Baristas and register workers were really friendly and smiled a lot. It's good to see that! They made our mocha frapps with sugar free syrup. It was pretty good and the first time I had it like that but I think I like the full sugar kind better. read more

The staff are fast and helpful, but probably 65-75% of the time I have to ask them to remake my drink. 98% of the time they burn the treat I get; I don't know anyone who likes burned cookies. =( I miss living next to the Clark/Belmont location, they never mess up my drink order, and they've never once burned my cookie. I wish the management here would better train their staff on prepping food and drinks for their customers. This location is also always full of what I call the stroller brigade, but that's just the neighborhood, not Starbucks' fault. read more

Horrible service. I spent $5 on a cup of coffee I can't even force myself to drink. The whole point of mobile ordering is so you can grab and go. I order my coffee with extra cream and 4 sugars plus white chocolate syrup, now imagine some crappy employee just throws black coffee in a cup and calls it good. I don't know about the restt of you coffee drinkers out there but I depend on my coffee to start the day. There is no reason. Went to this location on 9/16 at 11:30, with two of my co-workers. Co worker ordered an Iced Carmel Macchiato with Little milk, when she got it the whole drink looked like milk with a little Carmel. She kindly stated it was too much milk and the employee poured out the drink with a very harsh attitude, which surprised me. The next drink she got was only filled half full. My co worker was annoyed and walked out, while the employees seemed to be joking about it. Really can't believe the quality of service at this location. read more

Finals are here and you need a place to study. This Starbucks on Armitage is awesome. Has great tables for laptop work and sofas for some reading. The staff here knows the regulars that come in daily and make this generic chain feel like a neighborhood cafe. It is very obvious when DePaul is testing because the place does become packed with students studying at all the tables. They are very fast, and with an exit by the drink pick up line it is easy to get in and out of the cafe with little to no trouble at all. Become a regular and see what I mean. read more

Here's the deal. It's Brandon and I ordered a chocolate chip cookie at this Starbucks. I had a grande drip coffee on the side. The worker took my order with passion. I inserted my chip and payed for the meal. As I payed I thought about a lot of things in that short amount of time. I thought about insects. I thought about window washing and what the buzz is about that. I also thought about my chocolate chip cookie oozing on my hands. (I get my cookie warmed up!) This site is called Yelp. In the moment I thought "Welp" because the worker told me that they don't have anymore chocolate chip cookies. But I just paid and ugggghh! I wanted that ooze! I felt outside of myself. I didn't even feel like myself for the whole week tbh. I was lost and scared and broken. I was in crumbs. I felt exactly like a chocolate chip cookie except I wasn't eating one. Have you ever felt that way? I wish this review had a poll option. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I felt used. I felt like I was the cookie. I asked for it and thought I was going to get it. I felt like I was being WARMED UP. And then. No cookie. Shame. The coffee was really good tho! read more

I have found with this location that Frappuccinos are not their strongsuit. Come on folks, how hard is it to make one? Can you say overblended? If I hadn't been in a rush yesterday, they would have had to remake it although, I doubt it would have made a difference. Though the staff is friendly enough, I've had a consistent problem with this store for about the last six months: every single cup that I get is nowhere near full. This Starbucks is okay. I've been about a million times since it is right by my house, but still no one remembers my name, even though I've memorized theirs. I like to be remembered, I think it's special. But that may just be me. Service is usually pretty good, ambiance okay. Again, it's nothing too great or too shabby just average. The servers are pretty nice, I just feel like there's something missing. It's not the Starbucks I would spend hours on hours in, just one to stop by real quick. read more
