I usually ask for it in a mug, but unfortunately they don't have mugs, so you get a paper cup. I asked for whole milk, a little lavender, and a little vanilla. After I got it and looked inside, I was seriously disappointed. It was pretty much a cup of hot milk with a tea bag floating at the top. It was hot and had reasonably good flavor (the bag was still steeping), but there wasn't much latte texture at all. I didn't even finish it. They have a nice selection of different bakery items, cakes, and cookies. I saw many people enjoying these, but I didn't get anything myself. Service: The folks taking the order were nice. They seemed to know lots of regulars who came in for beverages and food. Atmosphere: The place is super cute. It has an old-time feel to it, with a tin ceiling, wood floors, period lighting, and a cast-iron radiator. The roaster sits in the middle of the place, with a counter all around it for enjoying your drink. Other seating options are along the outside walls and near the front windows. As cute as it is, I'm not likely to stop back. It just doesn't offer a quality beverage that I would enjoy.

I've been to coffee shops where the flavoring seems to be bland, or much more subtle and bitter for a more experienced coffee drinker who appreciates "notes". Not here! The latte seemed to hit all the obvious notes you wanted it too, and the top had such a soft froth. Seating outside was amazing, really able to absorb the charm of port-Washington. I didn't take pictures, but the store holds a large variety of whimsical, fun, and silly items, such as coin purses with witty sayings on them. There's also a music store in the same space, selling everything from banjos to harmonicas tiny enough to fit on your key ring. The"real food" menu is only available on the weekends, but there's a bakery case, so Friend and I settled for a brownie that we split and individual beverages. I know some will roll their eyes at the menu, but I thought it was clever and fun. Have seen it done before, but not with the degree of dedication that Amplify gives it. Since I live in Bay View and this place is in Port Washington, I certainly won't become a regular, but when I'm in town there, I'll definitely be stopping in.

Food: I ordered a London Fog Tea Latte in a mug with a little lavender and a little vanilla. They had a Cherry Pistachio Danish, and the staff member told me it was her favorite, so I went with that. Both items were delicious. The London Fog was nicely frothy. They only had a 12-oz mug, and my preference is usually a 16-oz, but they filled this one right to the top. It could have been a bit hotter. The Danish was excellent. It tasted very fresh, with flaky pastry and a generous amount of filling. It might have benefited from a few more pistachios, but that's a minor nit. Service: My experiences with Stone Creek staff are usually friendly and helpful, and this location was no exception. They were happy to offer their own opinions and recommendations. Atmosphere: This location has a nice feel to it. There is plenty of seating and lots of natural light coming in from the tall windows. Food: I checked online before coming, and they have an impressive list of drinks, both hot and cold. We ordered a couple of lattes. Mine was a London Fog Tea Latte (a little lavender, a little vanilla) in a mug, and hers was a Coffee Vanilla Latte with almond milk. They did a great job with both of them. My London Fog had great flavor, well-textured foam, and was a good temperature. They did leave the tea bag in, which might be their standard practice, but I prefer the tea to be fully steeped and then have the bag removed. Otherwise, removing the bag later messes with all the wonderful foam (next time I would ask). Each of us got a scone. Mine was blueberry, and hers was white chocolate raspberry, warmed up and plated. Both were very good. If I had to be completely honest, these scones are more like muffins than traditional scones. However, they were both delicious. Service: As soon as we walked up to the counter, it was nothing but friendly vibes and helpful service. They stepped us through the details of the order ("whole milk okay, how much flavor, etc."). They didn't rush the orders and took their time getting them right. When the bakery items were heated up, they brought them to our table. I always got the feeling that they truly appreciated us being there. Atmosphere: The building is a quaint, wonderfully maintained historic brick building. There are café tables outside that would be great on a warmer day. When you enter, you are taken back in time. The vibe is authentic and relaxed. Much of the interior looks like it may be from long ago. It's a bit cluttered, which could be distracting, but I think it fits. There are enough windows to bring in a good amount of natural light. The counter has a large array of pastries, muffins, cookies, etc. The main area doesn't have a lot of seating, and I did find it a bit loud. There is a separate seating area toward the back with several more tables and much less noise, which is where we sat. A very good first visit. Would definitely come back again.
