This is the headquarters for Hollander Chocolate. They manufacture chocolate powders and sauces for…read morethe food industry. You can also buy some of their products at the café. The café occupies one end of the building. I stopped in with a friend for an early lunch, and what a great surprise this turned out to be. Food: Their menu contains regular items as well as some R&D (Research and Development) selections. R&D items are not your typical flavor combinations and are great choices if you like trying different things. We got a couple of hot beverages. My friend ordered the hot chocolate, and I decided to try the special Carrot Cake Chai (with fresh carrots and spices). The hot chocolate was expertly made. It was rich, had excellent foam, and featured special latte art. The Carrot Cake Chai had strong flavor and a wonderful creamy texture. It was a bit sweet for my tastes (and I like sweet), and I didn't finish it. I talked to the barista, and they said they could easily adjust the sweetness level by using one less pump of the syrup. For food, I got the Wisco Avocado Toast, and my friend ordered the Devil Egg Salad Sandwich. My toast was good, with a generous amount of fresh avocado. The grape tomatoes were flavorful, but there was a bit too much of the chili crisp seasoning. The side salad was a small mix of lettuce with a few sliced radishes. My friend really enjoyed the egg salad. It was fresh, flavorful, had the right amount of mayo, and came in a good portion. Service: Super friendly service from the staff. I got a lot of helpful suggestions from the person taking the order, and the barista did an amazing job with the drinks. They give you a number and deliver your meal to your table. Food and drinks came out in a reasonable amount of time. Atmosphere: This place has a terrific layout. You can choose from several different seating areas. Some are set up for a quick meal, while others, like the upstairs area, feel more like a lounge. We sat in the back where there is a couch and several high-top tables. The place has an upscale yet casual feel to it. Before leaving, I picked up several of their sample packs of the most popular sauces: dark, white, and caramel. They will make great gifts for friends. Definitely a place worth checking out or visiting again.

I ordered a white hot chocolate & the "Lucky Pig" French Toast Bake bowl, and my husband ordered a regular hot chocolate & the Breakfast Champion bowl. Now, I love a good white hot chocolate (prefer it over normal hot cocoa), and maybe I set my expectations a little too high, but I found the white hot chocolate here was lacking flavor. Texture was creamy and frothy, and it was served in a nice ceramic mug, but I was disappointed that it looked better than it tasted. Their regular hot chocolate, on the other hand, was incredibly rich and flavorful. Smooth, velvety, divine chocolatey goodness. The bowls were also fantastic. The individual elements in the Lucky Pig bowl were each absolutely delicious. Together? A symphony in the mouth. Although initially I thought the portion was a tad small, it was plenty. The gingerbread brioche French toast bake was fluffy, spiced perfectly, and pleasingly sweet. The healthy helping of almond mascarpone cream that topped the bake was not overly sweet or tart, but had the right amount of cool, sweet tang with a delicate almond flavor. And the raspberry creme purée with almond streusel I could eat by the spoonful, it was that good. My husband found his Breakfast bowl to be equally satisfying, noting that his favorite part was the sausage & bacon crumble, which added the right amount of smokey-salty flavor to the whole dish. There were other things on the menu we'd like to try but that would be for future visits. We definitely will be back.

You could reasonably get into a book here or get some work done if you wanted to. The outdoor space is excellent. It's shared with Sahale next door but there's tons of seating and you'll always see families hanging around, especially during events. I had a Mint-Vanilla Au Lait (seasonal) and it was nice and drinkable. The mint was more of a scent than a flavor, so the iced beverage hit the spot on this hot summer morning! I prefer this Fiddleheads to the local Colectivo and they're about 2 blocks apart. Go here if you want a quick coffee.

My mom ordered a latte and the coffee itself has a sour taste which I've heard from others too! It was a $7 latte and she ended up tossing it. All of their flavored syrups are the Monin brand so nothing homemade and very artificial tasting. I ordered a bagel and it was $5, and it came with a Jif PB packet and Smuckers jelly. I wish they would at least have homemade jam or a peanut butter that doesn't have terrible fillers and oil in its product. I then asked for cream cheese and it also came in a packet. The bagel ended up being hard after 20 minutes and I had to toss. The prices are so overpriced for the quality.

Food: I checked online before coming, and they have an impressive list of drinks, both hot and cold. We ordered a couple of lattes. Mine was a London Fog Tea Latte (a little lavender, a little vanilla) in a mug, and hers was a Coffee Vanilla Latte with almond milk. They did a great job with both of them. My London Fog had great flavor, well-textured foam, and was a good temperature. They did leave the tea bag in, which might be their standard practice, but I prefer the tea to be fully steeped and then have the bag removed. Otherwise, removing the bag later messes with all the wonderful foam (next time I would ask). Each of us got a scone. Mine was blueberry, and hers was white chocolate raspberry, warmed up and plated. Both were very good. If I had to be completely honest, these scones are more like muffins than traditional scones. However, they were both delicious. Service: As soon as we walked up to the counter, it was nothing but friendly vibes and helpful service. They stepped us through the details of the order ("whole milk okay, how much flavor, etc."). They didn't rush the orders and took their time getting them right. When the bakery items were heated up, they brought them to our table. I always got the feeling that they truly appreciated us being there. Atmosphere: The building is a quaint, wonderfully maintained historic brick building. There are café tables outside that would be great on a warmer day. When you enter, you are taken back in time. The vibe is authentic and relaxed. Much of the interior looks like it may be from long ago. It's a bit cluttered, which could be distracting, but I think it fits. There are enough windows to bring in a good amount of natural light. The counter has a large array of pastries, muffins, cookies, etc. The main area doesn't have a lot of seating, and I did find it a bit loud. There is a separate seating area toward the back with several more tables and much less noise, which is where we sat. A very good first visit. Would definitely come back again.

They have several unique drink options , tea, coffee, dirty sodas and hot chocolate. I had the Cup of Hygge one of their signature drinks. It was a bit too bitter for my taste, but the cinnamon and cardamon was a unique combination. My husband had a turtle mocha and I liked his more than mine. They do have some bakery items, scones, cookies including gluten free options. The cafe is very cute and the staff were very friendly.
