I hate this Starbucks. I truly do. The only good thing about it is the location. I generally order the same thing. Medium latte with blond espresso and 2 stevia. Half the time they forget the stevia, and the other half the drink is so fing HOT it takes a long time to even be able to drink it and a lot of the time it tastes scalded and burnt because it's so hot. What prompted me to write this is that I woke up with a headache today. I had a 9am meeting. I figured coffee would help. I stopped here because of convenience. I ordered. My head is throbbing. The girl was overly friendly and couldn't pickup on my quiet vibe. I did not want to talk. She forced conversation on me and I got to learn about her family as I'm sitting there feeling sick and just wanted my drink. Then I get my drink and it was so hot I could feel the heat through the heat thing they put on the cup. Then I take a small sip and then burn my poor little tastebuds. I was pissed. I couldn't drink any more before me meeting. I get out 30 minutes later and it was still too hot! Wtf?!! Why do they make their drinks so hot at this location?!!!! At least they didn't forget the stevia this time. Do better. read more

We came through today with only one car ahead of us in the drive-thru. We ordered an Iced Venti Chai Tea Latte (easy on the ice), an iced grande caramel macchiato, a spinach feta wrap and a spicy chorizo sandwich. The barista who took our order at the drive thru screen was cheerful but a little distracted, asking us to repeat the iced chai tea latte (easy on the ice) order. Last time we were in we were told the Iced Chai Tea Latte was one of the barista's favorite drinks to make because it isn't too complicated... so I didn't think asking for light ice would be a complicated request (my partner who ordered the drink detests asking for "special requests" but I thought I'd risk it since the ice really waters down the drink fast). No problem though, because I repeated it once and finished the order and we pulled around. There was one car ahead of us - one of those white panel vans. It took a few minutes but we pulled forward, were cheerfully greeted, and paid. The Venti Iced Chai came out first, and it had a full scoop of ice in it, despite the label even saying "light ice". My partner grumbled a little but didn't want me to say anything. Okay fine. We waited another minute or two and got our sandwiches, but still no Iced Grande Caramel Macchiato. At that point both the barista working the register and espresso machine disappear. About 20-30 seconds later our barista came back and I see her squeezing a metric ton of caramel into a venti cup full of milk and ice. She dumps a couple of shots on top and leans out the window with the finished drink, apologizing that they "started making a grande by accident"... and did we want the free grande drink for someone else? I looked at her blankly and explained I had ordered a grande, but I went ahead and took the venti drink. At this point I look at my partner and mention not only had she failed to make my drink correctly, but the Iced Chai was also full of ice. The barista (who I won't mention by name out of courtesy) offered to make the drink again, but we were in a hurry by this point and worried the trip was going to take longer. I shrugged and said no thank you, but I thought she should know. At this point her attitude shifted and she gave me a blank look back and a shrugs. "Okayyy," is the reply. Not a genuine and sincere I'm sorry, not thank you for telling us. Just a blank stare and a shrug. I've worked as a Starbucks barista and know customers can be a total pain. But I was trained during the company's "third place" initiative circa 2007, and I can't imagine that sort of attitude ever being acceptable. We've had a few hiccups the last few times we've been through but it seems to be getting worse in terms of baristas really focusing on customer service, drink quality, and timeliness. This Starbucks is conveniently located and generally faster than the one by my work (Greenback near Sunrise), but I'm hesitant to rely on them during my commute again. read more

This Starbucks needs to have a better customer service. Mary the supervisor has a bad attitude and is no where a good example of good customer service. She is plain rude and talks with attitude and looks like she wants to attack you. Unfortunately, I will not be visiting this location anymore. I come to this drive thru almost every morning on my way home from class. Normally I always have my drinks made right, a Flat White w/ 6 pumps of vanilla and I get my bf a White chocolate mocha w/ no whip, hot Today for some reason (I don't know if it was cause their drive thru line was swamped) they made my drinks HORRIBLE. I got home and me and my bf took a sip of our drinks and were immediately disgusted by the taste. His had no flavor of "white chocolate" and even though I payed for 6 extra pumps, I did not taste an ounce of vanilla. I was so annoyed because 1) I had just gotten home and live a ways down the road and 2) I had no time to go back to get it remade because I had to leave for work in less than 15 minutes. I called them to complain and spoke to a woman named Nicole. I was just going to ask for my money back, but the person I spoke to (Nicole) was very nice to me the whole time and didn't even question what I had to say. All she asked was my name, the drinks I had made, and what time I would be off work. I was very please with how the situation was handled. It was very professional and she was very kind. I just got home from having my drinks remade, and the staff members were very nice and friendly about it. I wanted to leave a review to show their quality in professionalism and wanted to thank them for their service. I will still continue to come to this place. I see the reviews below and people complain about the parking and just dumb shit that doesn't involve the service/customer service aspect, so basically, long story short...I just wanted to tell you guys that I appreciated what you guys did for me today. This is a convenient location on the corner of Manzanita and Madison Avenues. Good for a quick drive through mostly since the parking lot is quite small with only a few spaces. If the line for the drive through is long it can make getting into the parking lot difficult and you may have to make another pass at it or just partially pull off the road until there is an opening to pull into the parking lot. Inside is smaller than most Starbucks locations but still offers the same options and amenities. I was happy to find that they had all of their drip brews full and ready when I came in so I didn't have to wait or chose from a limited selection of what was ready. The coffee tasted as expected, not bad but still a little overbrewed in my opinion. It was extra hot which was good so it didn't loes its heat after I added a little cream, but if you like it black you might want to be a little careful on your first sip. The service was quick and friendly and I was greeted with a smile which makes me appreciate my service even more. read more

This location has piss- poor customer service. When I arrived I spent several minutes standing at the counter without being acknowledged (there were 4 people behind the counter also). The tables also weren't bussed and there was a lot of trash on the floors. I recommend only coming to this location if you're desperate and/or like waiting in a long drive-thru line. Where do I begin? I guess I can start with the parking, there is none! The service sucks! They don't carry The supplies they should have at all times. For example, gift card sleeves, therefore the person you're buying the gift card for knows how much is on the card! And not to mention when I bought the gift card the employee didn't even ask me which gift card I would like He just assumed which one I would like. If I could give this location zero stars I would... I used to a be a barista at another local Starbucks, hence I know their (Starbucks) policies and standards. I also, along with my family, am an avid Starbucks addict. My father goes to Starbucks every morning for his triple espresso macchiato in a tall cup with extra foam and 2 raw sugars. I won't get into recipes but they consistently make it wrong. I.e. lots of milk, no foam, even pumps of mocha sometimes?! We also make evening trips frequently. Without fail, every time, the size is wrong, drinks are missing syrups, and hot drinks are 1/4 of the way down the cup without being drunk yet. I know the Starbucks standard is to fill the cup leaving 1/4 of an inch of room on the top, however the drinks from this particular store are ALWAYS at least an inch down the cup. Paying for a venti and getting a grande amount is not only frustrating but wasteful as well. I know the manager of this location well and I don't understand how these particular baristas and shift supervisors are so rude and incompetent. I know that Starbucks won't suffer because of a negative review. I won't stop people from drinking their coffee or even going to this location, but maybe someone who has the ability to implement change will see this and fix it. Standards are seriously not being met at this location. Oh and the parking sucks. Especially when their nightly deliveries truck takes up THE ENTIRE parking lot. This location is pretty good, my drinks are always right. Only thing I've had a problem with is in the morning there is an older lady at the cash register who takes longer than most to take an order and converses extra long with customers which is okay if you don't have to be anywhere. But it's 6:30 am and I'm pretty sure most people are off to work. It's cool to chat for like 60 seconds but when you're full blown in a conversation for almost 5 minutes I feel it's rude and inconsiderate to the other people in line that are waiting impatiently to place their orders. read more

Every time I go here they always mess up my tea. One time I came in to get a pineapple black tea I got some mint tea. Like really? I also tried to get the pink drink they put water in it instead of the coconut milk in. Staying away from this starbucks. My tea orders aren't that very hard to make. After the mix up between my pineapple tea and giving a different tea all together needless to say not going here. Also their drinks are .50-1$ more expensive here than in citrus heights. When asking why the price was different then a different location the employee looked at me and shrugged and walked away. This is my family's local Starbucks aside from the one on Madison. My parents had a mobile order, I pick up their drinks & they try them letting me know both Frappuccino's are "watery". I go back in to let them know & two employees proceed to go back and forth with me about it, one letting me know she had made the drink. Attitude was given to me by both employees and once remade, I get told "let me know if their to eatery for you again" with sarcasm. They again were watered down, so instead of arguing I had taken both. I call to speak to the manager and Heather who picks up was beyond kind and explained how drinks are made and other ways to order with the same result but less watery. She is a great employee with wonderful customer service, thank you Heather. It's just so sad that some employees want to argue with customers. read more
