Love love love this gem! It is a drive thru (window on both sides) coffee place. The coffee is always delicious and served with a smile. Each and every time we go (at least 2 Saturdays a month) we are greeted with a warm and friendly person. They are quick in making the drinks and getting them out to you. I love that they always have cute decor on the outside of the building for whatever holiday is coming up. Definitely ask a punch card which is buy 11 drinks and get $2 off the next. I haven't been here for a while. When I finally had some time, I decided to stop by and grab myself an iced coffee. To be exact an Iced Carmel Mountain Latte. My passenger at the time got a Mango Fruit Smoothie. This place is located in the same plaza as Grocery Outlet and PetCo. It's a drive thru, and you can go on both sides, which is very convenient. The barista was friendly and made our drinks pretty quick. The coffee itself was made just right. It wasn't too sweet and wasn't too carmelly (is that a word? Haha). It hit my coffee craving for the day. The Mango smoothie was good too. It tasted a bit sweet, but was a nice healthy alternative. I've been coming here since I was 15 years old and today is the first time the coffee was just nasty, so I drove back and ask the girl if she could please remake the coffee as it tasted wrong. She said yes of course and asked what was wrong and I told her it was bitter and tasted like Burt coffee. She proceeded to make me a new drink and stated she might have only put half of the white mocha powder and I said maybe that's it. When she handle the coffee to me I told her I never complained ever and that this is the first time and as they have awesome prices I work very hard for my money and she said well I've been on my feet all day making coffee maybe that's why. I just thanked her again and pulled away. I am a CNA and I had just come off an 18 hour shift on my feet walking over 17 miles, climbed 23 flights of stairs, standing for 20 hours of the day! I'm tired but that doesn't mean I'm going to treat my patients like crap. The drinks were good I have tried their iced hugs mocha , white chocolate, and infused Red Bull! Their coffee is good a just a tad bit watery for me nor strong for me but that's just me. I'll tell you the infused Red Bull ( Red Bull w cream) is very good! I don't remember the flavor we got because the sweet lady that works there helped us pick our flavor! "Holy faaaa that's good." -My first words after trying an Iced white mocha at Hot Java Cafe! I was so impressed I've been back a number of times. Unfortunately I have ONLY tried their iced white mochas, but they seem to have a lot of yummy drinks, especially the...specials! See my pic. I also love, and appreciate, that their "large" is actually LARGE!! It's sometimes hard to find coffee spots that have truly large drinks. And the price is definitely right!!! I think the large iced white mocha was about $5, which I find rather cheap. The large is even so big, I've actually been getting mediums. They are pretty fast too. I'm always shocked at how fast they are. The drive-thru is also so convenient. So far, I haven't gone wrong here! Based on my first time here, I tried the Hug which was a white chocolate dark chocolate mocha which was very sweet, but also very smooth and flavorful. The coffee in the iced mocha was not too strong, so next time I might get it with less syrups and sauce or add an extra shot of espresso as needed. The young lady was a knowledge barista who was was kind and respectful which I appreciate. She was also patient with my back and forth choices. She was able to suggest a couple popular options as well as her personal favorites. I can't wait to come back and try their other sweet drinks that are priced reasonably. I did go at an odd hour of the day so I was the only one in line, but I hope they do get the business they deserve. I would suggest that you try it out for yourself. read more

Loooooooove this spot! It's a drive-thru style quick coffee stop with great coffee and fantastic service. As many reviews have stated, a sip of the coffee and it's instant "aaaahhhh!! So good!" I typically get a vanilla latte or the Nutty Irishman. These baristas always great you with a smile and if you come here often they remember your drink order. They offer a frequent rewards card where you can get your 11th drink free, but also they are almost a dollar cheaper than Starbucks. My afternoon pick-me-up for the day was at Hot Java Cafe. I'm an afternoon hot Chai drinker as the spices and honey help sooth and calm my vocal chords. The Chai at Hot Java Cafe was just ok. Hot Java Cafe's Chai was somewhat watery and seemed to have sugar in it. I prefer a Chai to be rich, creamy, and sweetened with honey, but this one was none of the above. Going to get Chai at a coffee house can sometimes be a crap shoot as most coffee houses focus on .....well you know...coffee. On the other hand, the service was super quick and the Barista was very nice. She had a big smile on her face and was extremely accommodating. After I paid, the barista focused on finishing up my drink and handed it to me with a smile. Hot Java Cafe is super convenient as it is actually a drive through coffee hut. There are lanes on either side of the small building and the Barista sits in her small little workspace all day long with drive up windows on each side. Another convenient fact about Hot Java Cafe is the prime location. This little drive through coffee hut is located on the North side of Greenback just East of I-80 Its probably not more than 1/2 mile from the freeway. Although I didn't care for the Chai (which is why I gave it 3 stars) I do plan to give Hot Java Cafe another try and I will order a coffee drink next time. read more

Pretty good drinks for the price I got a "specialty" latte, the Carmel Mtn Latte 20oz with an add shot and it was only $4.30 that's a cheaper price than a 12oz Latte from Starbucks. It was pretty tasty, not TOO sweet. If you like it super sweet have it regular without the add shot and it'll be perfect. My husband got a 12oz huge mocha and that was SUPER tasty too!
