I ordered a Grande Matcha Latte and they filled the cup with so much ice that the drink only had 3 small drinks in it. it was such a rip off and this location does this consistently with their drinks, even when the requested order says light ice. By reading the reviews and experiencing it myself, I think the impersonal service boils down to one employee. She just happens to man the cash register. Which may just be a bad spot for her. There was a barista there who I think must be the manager or owner--almost--that's how well she thought of her job--and I think by her attitude and actions I witnessed--she should be at the register. Win every time. I hate to pin point one person as a source of trouble for a place, but when I read the description of the worker described, I knew who it was exactly. Hard to believe I spent about 5 1/2 hours of my vacation (out of 2 consecutive days. 4 total days) to Billings hitting up this Starbucks on Grand Avenue, but it's true. I guess for me, Starbucks represents downtime and a chance to destress and relax from the outside world. I also use Starbucks as a means to help me get inspired to write reviews on yelp, even during downtimes during aforementioned vacation, just so the pending yelp reviews doesn't start stacking up and need to find the time in the real world post vacation. You know what I am talking about! I also enjoy Starbucks drinks whenever I come here and am thankful that Starbucks has free, speedy, and reliable wifi at each of their locations nationwide. At this location though here in Billings, MT, I did enjoy the fact that this Starbucks location facility is quite large, plenty of seats and chairs for everyone. I don't know whether or not this place has enough outlets to charge devices, but I did see some people charge their devices while I was there. I did feel like the ambiance of Starbucks did enhance the mood that was conductive to writing and other academic things. During my Starbucks experience here in Billings, MT, you can see people studying for school, working, or just doing their own thing. That's what I love about being at Starbucks. It's like your own personal oasis and quiet time, as the ambiance and atmosphere of Starbucks is basically like a community library, but you are not in one. This Starbucks location is centrality located at 900 Grand Avenue in the heart of Billings, MT. Like all Starbucks locations, they accept major credit cards, which is always a good thing., as well as cash too. They also have the Starbucks app for your mobile device and you can load credits on the account, so you don't need to bring your wallet each time. This Starbucks has a private parking lot and also a drive thru, so that's pretty cool. Parking is plentiful here, so do yourself a favor and come here to relax and enjoy that ambiance that Starbucks is known for. My usual go to drink of choice is usually the trenta iced green or black tea whenever I go to Starbucks anywhere. On this visit, I had the trenta black tea lemonade and even tried the white tea lemonade, just because I saw it on the menu and was interested in trying that. I was told that I was a mixture of the green and black tea lemonades. The outcome was that it tasted pretty good, although the green tea seemed to be the dominant color. On this visit here to Starbucks, I also had a couple of pastries as well, while working / writing on these reviews for yelp. My favorite go-to would have to be the scone, danish, or the muffin. It would definitely depend on availability. This Starbucks location also sports a gender neural restroom, so you could stay here for hours on end working and that would be okay. The service at this Starbucks was good as usual. Friendly staff makes Starbucks always a delight to come back daily after day. You usually get your drink 2-3 minutes after putting in your order, which is good. 4.0 stars for the overall experience. 5.0 stars for the free wifi. Very disappointed this morning. I go here almost every day. They open at 6 and hours jeep changing but I've stayed up to date on all changes. This morning me and multiple cars were waiting to be helped. No one answered the speaker. So I pulled around to the window and none of the workers would even come and explain what the issue was or the delay of opening or why customers were not being helped. I then proceeded to call the store multiple times without a single answer. This location truly needs help with organization and coordinating people correctly. So many times I've watched certain people stand around while two people make a long list of orders. The waiting time, either drive through or walk in, is outrageous. My husband and I just sat in the drive through and ate our entire lunches while waiting just to pay! They handed my drink over and my husbands just sat there for another three minutes until someone realized we were still waiting for it. I recently quit working here and when I went back today to get coffee I make a joke about my partner numbers working and the manager told me I was no longer allowed to come to her store! The barista was sweeping the floor when I walked in. She rolled her eyes, turned, and slumped her shoulders as she walked to the counter. She spoke very quietly and didn't make any attempt to be friendly. People have bad days, but this isn't the first time the baristas haven't been friendly to me. I have frequented this location mostly because of Wayne the drive thru guy, and because it's on my way to the college. In October I visited Starbucks every day of the month but 3 up until Saturday the 29th. Well, I won't be doing that anymore. Or visiting this location period. I may not visit Starbucks in Billings period after the way I was treated. I like Wayne, because he reminds me of the friendly atmosphere back home, and being here for college away from my life hasn't been an easy adjustment. On October 29th I worked a 13 hour shift and like to go drink coffee while I study. I commonly do this because I fall asleep at my desk if I stay home! This Starbucks has a great perk that I won't be using again; they're open until midnight and no other coffee shop stays open that late. I've been to this location during the day when it was completely packed and never had the experience that I did on Saturday night. One side of the coffee shop had medical students trying to study, and the other side where the long community table was a group of people. This group was so loud that I could hear them through the noise cancelling headphones I have that suction to the inside of my ears. The lady studying across from me kept turning around and looking at them because they were inappropriately loud for any time of day. It was like they were at s loud bar and couldn't hear each other. I planned to have three coffees but made it through my coffee and packed my things up because they were so loud I couldn't focus. I picked up a mineral water and stated to the male barista about the reason I was leaving. The female barista chimed in and said, "well that's my family and they come every Saturday night!", (Okay, my thought is that's great, but having worked in customer service I know that doesn't give them a pass to be obnoxious and rudely disrespectful to other patrons), and then the male barista said to me, "well they're opening a coffee shop downtown that's 24 hours, don't know the name of it but you should go there!" Excuse me? Mind you had it been someone complaining about a table that wasn't the baristas family something would've been said. This is the same male barista that scolded me three weeks prior for asking for a chicken panini when they were out of sun dried tomato. Once again he was nasty and even though I didn't hear him say they were out of all paninis, he said, "when I tell you we are all out of paninis we are out of ALL paninis!", even after I told him I didn't hear him say that he continued to be rude and never apologized. So he's right and will get his wish, I'll spend my money elsewhere and ask my friends and classmates to do the same. read more
