They have a local non-profit partner. Each order is fresh roasted to order, and they're brought to us by sustainable farms in small batch I had to be at work early that morning, and I was staying in the area, so, I walked over to get a quick pick-me-up. I like that they're open earlier than most coffee shops in the area The interior is spacious and well-decorated. There are your typical snacks, other breakfast treats, merchandise, roastery machinery, and plenty of seating options There was only one barista working when I arrived around 6am, but there were already several patrons who had already been helped. This barista was professional, friendly, and efficient. I received my order within a couple minutes of ordering The menu offers a variety of classic specialty coffees as well as seasonal and specialty offerings. There's non-espresso drinks, chai/teas, etc. there's breakfast foods, snacks, and you can even purchase beans/grounds to take home As I was in a rush I only had time for a to-go coffee and a quick bite (stroopwaffles). Fabulous to find a coffee shop open super early and not the Green Siren people. I try hard to drink #LocalCoffee and this definitely met my needs this morning. Two coffees in a few hours, spent plugged in and dialed in to work. Witht he second coffee, an egg and cheese bagel that was very good. Lots and lots of seeds that went just about everywhere. The food itself was nice, but the customer service was terrible. I do not expect everyone to smile or seem overly happy to be there, but the barista was not friendly. The nail in the coffin was when I said goodbye and was ignored. Its a shame because I would have came back regularly if it wouldn't be such an off-putting environment. read more

Fantastic place to get your caffeine fix - especially love the Tortoise Chai! They also have interesting seasonal drinks and tasty breakfast bagel sandwiches (available till 2pm weekdays and noon on weekends). First time in Billings, looking for a local coffee shop experience... and hit the jackpot in the renovated part of downtown. I ordered a simple sugar free vanilla late, and it turned out to be one of the BEST cups of coffee I have had outside my own home in a long time. What made it so good? I am guessing the freshness because I noticed there was a gentleman actually slow-roasting coffee beans in the shop, and it seemed the shop was in the process of building a "viewable" portion of the space - similar to how breweries have their tanks behind a glass/plexiglass wall. I asked him if those beans were for tomorrow. He told me the beans were for that morning. And the beans are kept whole until needed and ground as needed. Add to that a delicious orange cranberry muffin warmed up perfectly (not too hot or unevenly warmed) and pleasant & friendly staff AND customers... Rock Creek Coffee is now my go-to 1st coffee stop in Billings, Montana - which I expect to visit many many times over the next couple of years. read more

Normally, it is in bigger cities that you find coffee houses that treat you the customer as if they are doing you a favor by letting you come in and drink their coffee. So it is with some sadness that I report that is the staff attitude here. The coffee is OK. The light breakfast fare seems to be OK. But, it is hard to enjoy anything when you are treated as an inconvenience. I'd much rather give my money to a local business than to starbucks or even a local chain. But, at least these places you are treated as a customer, not an annoyance. read more

Some of the best brewed coffee in town. One of the original independent coffee shops in Billings. The owners are very kind and involved, and the location is so convenient for the farmers market and downtown employees. They offer a variety of breakfast foods at reasonable Prices. Nothing too inflated even though they are downtown. I would go here over other coffee places if it was on my way to work every day. Stop by and give them a try! They roast their own beans and do a great job all around. Their featured origins are usually my favorite though. read more

As things are kind of spread out in MT I'd recommend making a stop here to stretch your legs and grab a cup of coffee or lunch. What did I like about my cup of tea? I liked the tea itself and the bag was eco-friendly as was the paper cup. I prefer paper to styrofoam it's better for Mother Earth. Mother Earth is my friend and I try to keep her clean. read more

We read a review indicating the coffee here is bitter and sour, but we found the opposite to be true. We had whole milk lattes and they were creamy and delicious ! We also got a giant peanut butter cookie heated up and it tasted like it had just come out of the oven! So good !! The people here are very friendly. I'm visiting from SF and I've come to expect good coffee, pleasant servers, and WiFi. Don't come here expecting to get WiFi. It doesn't work and the girls working here aren't that much into customer service... You won't get any help. Coffee is OK. Not great but what I'd expected. Staff is definitely not engaged - just putting in their time based on their behavior. Overall, pretty disappointed with the experience. Too bad too because its a good location with a good layout and a lot of potential. I hear there's a Starbucks nearby. I prefer to go to local places and support small business but I'll go to Starbucks if I"m here again and looking for a coffee shop. read more

I've had coffee in this spot multiple times and it's ok. I was recently in there for just a blueberry muffin and it was just fine. The issue I have with this place is the incredibly rude customer service rep with facial piercings. Unreal how sour faced and flat out disdainful she was. Her personal issues aren't mine so at least be happy or thankful that you've got a job and be respectful to paying customers. Probably not gonna go back there again. Biggest reason for the rating is customer service and WiFi. Weren't eager to help with WiFi when having issues; just didn't seem interested. Disappointing to see when you're in hospitality. Never got so much as a "hello" from the baristas, my drip coffee was cold, and my friend asked for a latte made with coconut milk (she's lactose intolerant) and after specifying coconut MILK NOT COCONUT FLAVOR she received a 2% milk latte with coconut flavor. Cool location though! read more
