    The World Famous Cinnamon Roll
    Michelle R.

We arrived early and midweek. No wait!! Our server was just ok. Had to ask him for a lot of things from cream for the coffee, refill for the coffee and even the check. He failed to tell us we pay him! Overlook that and come for the food. Portions are generous. The cinnamon roll was delicious! Street parking available. It's literally located next door to a Best Western hotel.

Joyce, our server, was very nice and food had great portions. We got the gluten free pancakes that came with real maple syrup! all of this was $40

The food is worth the wait!! It's a diner that bakes all their own breads and sweets. A must-try if you're in the downtown Billings area. Cheers to Amber for her sweet smile and excellent service.

Our first time at this place. It was clean and friendly and the food was amazing. They had a Gluten free option too.

This place is kinda legendary with CDT hikers. This is the place that is right beside Best Western in Billings. If you drive here there really isn't anywhere to park. There is a parking deck across the street that cost two bucks. Best to just stay at the hotel and come here for breakfast. I ate here twice while visiting. The first time waited forever for a table but once we were seated it was good. Our server was nice and had worked there along time. The food was very good. I got the French toast and it was awesome. The second time they messed up my eggs but I'm one of the weird guys that orders my eggs well done so I'm used to it. I would give this five stars if not for the parking situation.

After walking in the state and federal parks nearby, I was starved for lunch. We walked in to Stella's and it felt like we were transported back in time to the 70s. We were seated after a couple of minutes. After being seated, we learned that Stella's only does breakfast on Sundays, so while that sounds limiting, it really isn't because there is a ton to choose from. I ordered the biscuits and gravy that was served with eggs cooked to your liking and bacon. It was so good, and so filling. They have a huge bakery selection as well, including cinnamon rolls the size of your head. They looked so good but I was too full for another bite!

This place truly is a hidden gem in the middle of nowhere. When I came to billings, I had very low expectations for food, and honestly I still do lmaoo. BUT Stella's definitely exceeded my expectations. The food was delicious. I ordered the French toast combo and the French toast here was DELICIOUS. As soon as took my first bite I couldn't stop. I killed the whole plate lmaoo. My friend I was with looked at me like I was crazy by how fast I inhaled the plate. The service here was great but the only thing I didn't like was part of my order was wrong. I order over medium eggs with no cheese. I ended up getting scrambled eggs with cheese. Other than than the vibe here is that of a traditional mid-west diner. Make sure you pick up some of their baked goods before you leave! They're all made in-house and are yummy!

Nice little dinner vibes and huge portions. Fair prices and friendly service. Expect to wait a little but it's worth it.

We went to Stella's Kitchen & Bakery for a weekend breakfast since the hotel we stayed at offered vouchers for breakfast. Even at 8AM, this place was exceptionally busy, with multiple people waiting inside and out for seats. We managed to get in within 15 minutes but I bet the wait would be longer for larger groups. Cinnamon Roll ($5.25) - Although our breakfast entrees were complimentary, we opted to order an extra cinnamon roll given how good they looked. They sell these cinnamon rolls in the front of the establishment, wrapped in saran wrap, for people to take to-go. If you order at the table, they take one of those, remove the wrapper, place it on a plate, and stick it in the microwave to warm up. There are three types of cinnamon rolls you can choose from - original, frosted, or caramel walnut. The frosted is the most popular, and that's what we went with. The cinnamon rolls baked at Stella's are quite large, something like 5 or 6 inches across. And this is for the normal sized roll - they even have a larger jumbo roll if you want! Since they heat the roll up, the frosting softens and runs all around and down the sides. A knob of whipped butter is included on the side for additional richness. The cinnamon roll overall is sweet but not cloying and the interior is soft, chewy, and rich, and has the perfect amount of cinnamon. What a delicious start to our meal. (4/5) Half Order of Biscuits & Gravy (Included with hotel stay) - This entree comes with a single biscuit with gravy, hash browns, and one egg any style. Starting with the hash browns - so many diners serve sad and soggy hash browns. These, on the other hand, are crisped up excellently on the faces, while the interior remains soft and fluffy. Delicious. For the egg, I ordered it over medium but it was cooked over easy with the yolk completely runny. Not a lot of places cook over medium eggs properly, and unfortunately Stella's gets added to that list. The sausage gravy tastes like it's made in house. It's savory, meaty, peppery and not overly salted. The weakest part of the dish is unfortunately the biscuit. It's dense and dry, even though it's served split in half to maximize the surface area, and reminds me of a cheap hotel breakfast biscuit. While Stella's bakes a lot of items in house, I have a feeling that this is a commercially purchased biscuit given the texture. (4/5) Ham & Cheese Omelette (Included with hotel stay) - This comes with the aforementioned omelette, hash browns, and toast. The omelette is gigantic - while they do fold it over the large half of the omelette on top, it's still very big. I'd guess at least 4 eggs went into this monstrosity. The omelette is very fluffy and is a bit risen, almost like it's been steamed a bit. It's completely filled with cubes of ham and cheddar cheese, and topped with even more. There is a ton of filling, which creates lots of cheese pull. The hash browns are same as with the first dish and there's not really much to say about the toast, other than that it's been buttered and then toasted. It's served with two pats of standard Smucker's strawberry jam. (5/5) I would have checked out the bakery case more thoroughly, but I was stuffed and couldn't bear the sight of more food. They do sell a variety of breads, all pre-sliced and bagged, and the majority of their pastries are wrapped in saran wrap. I think a lot of items sell pretty briskly, since we saw bakers continuously bringing out more items to fill the case. Overall Stella's serves a very solid breakfast. The fact that the hotel gives you a voucher for food here makes it very attractive for future stays in the area.

I was told about this place by a few co workers of mine. They wouldn't stop raving about the giant HEAD-SIZED cinnamon rolls, so you know i had to go see for myself! Lets just say they were not exaggerating about the cinnamon rolls being as big as your head!!! It came out hot and fresh, butter melting, icing dripping goodness. If you are ever in Billings i recommend coming here. Our server was fast and knowledgeable, and checked on us from time to time. He kept our glasses filled at all times! It felt warm and cozy in there. They had many more options of food to choose from but i came for the cinnamon rolls. I couldn't finish all of it so i took the remainder to go. I didn't even need to warm it up later on. Even after a couple hours it was still fresh, and not stale at all! Also, they have freshly squeezed orange juice!!
