Stopped in Billings during our road trip across the country and found Walkers through Yelp so we decided to have dinner here. We were seated immediately even though we didn't have a reservation which was great. There appears to be a lot of tables and bar seats, but definitely can see this place filling up quickly. The service was wonderful-- waters were brought to our table immediately and our drinks came out quickly. I had the "Echoes of Hong Kong" which was very alcohol forward and I could barely taste the pandan. Their Ca Phe Tini is their take on an espresso martini, and it was delicious! Our table ordered the burrata appetizer which was fantastic and definitely recommend others try. The burrata is served on corn bread with honey butter, peaches and pickled fresnos-- so good! For the mains, our party of four had the pork shank (which was served on whipped potatoes and topped with cabbage and bourbon apples-- this is good for people who love the "sweet and salty" combo. Also, a huge portion.), Casey's Korean beef bowl (I got the 1/2 serving which is 5 ounces of noodles; the sauce was the perfect amount of heat and there was plenty of bulgogi style beef that came with the dish), the scallop special of the day (I didn't try, but was told this was excellent), and steak salad (I also didn't try, but was told while the flavor was good, the steak was a little raw as it was asked to be cooked medium rare and was more on the rare side). The food was delicious! We ordered the meatloaf made with their home made bread and apple glazed pork shank with apples and onions. Both were outstanding. The waitress Lacey was excellent, very knowledgeable and knew all the ingredients. She told us the pork shank was large portion and the meatloaf came in two pieces that we could share. She was absolutely right, we shared the meatloaf, it was the best we had ever eaten. The pork shank was so tender and savory with the apples. The restaurant is modern yet homey, drinks were great and we ordered wine Absidian Volcanic Red . This was a blended wine made in Oregon, Washington and California. I ordered the obligatory Pork Shank, but substituted polenta for the potato mash. Do it if you can. It was heavenly. Because, in my childhood, I always put potato chips in my PB&J sandwich, I ordered the PB&J pie with potato chip crumble on top! So good! Cooked to perfection as the burger was perfect medium rare and the scallops melted in my mouth !!!! If we would've been on camera you would've seen our eyes keep rolling as we said mmmmmmm! The deviled eggs were absolutely delicious! (Im from the midwest & never thought a restaurant would have good deviled eggs. I ate my words because these were amazing! We are traveling from Nebraska to the west coast and my husband found this wonderful restaurant on a yelp app. Not only was our waitress professional, kind, fun, informative, the other employees walking around always double checked to make sure if we needed anything. The owner visited us more than once. Nick was a gem for sure. So friendly, sincere, kind, professional, helpful and gracious. My husband & i talked about this restaurant all last night! My husband said he thinks he even dreamt about it. Lol We spoke about it today as we drove hundreds of miles that it was a God thing that we found that restaurant. My salads lettuce was supposed to be Butter lettuce and it was old wilted Romaine lettuce with very little toppings, Our entire work group was very disappointed in all our meals. The beet salad was a surprise and that it had yellow beets and had a curry powder topping that was OK but when you ordered a curry entrée, it was too much. The pork roast was very well presented however, the applesauce was too sweet and the mashed potatoes that went with. It were too soft. This has been one of our favorite 'go to' places in Billings. Last night was not up to expectations though. Food seemed bland but that's likely because the service was terrible. We have been eating at Walkers for many years and have always loved it. The past couple of dining experiences have been disappointing. The positives are that the Walkers house salad is always delicious, as are the deviled eggs. My husband had the salmon tacos appetizer, and those were delicious. I had the squash soup. It had amazing flavor, but you don't get more than a few tastes for $10.00. They used to make the most delicious bread that had a salt crust. Not sure what happened to that, but the sourdough bread last night was dry and forgettable. read more

STELLAR! Went here for a special evening and it was a wonderful experience! The atmosphere is open but cozy and welcoming with warm woods and low-gleaming lights plus tall windows that wrap around the building, which makes it even livelier. The service was impeccable from the host to the bartenders (amazing team - worked like a ballet) to the servers and bussers. I highly recommend the Kentucky Peach cocktail. This place is great for vegetarians! We had appetizers (morels on biscuit and also the asparagus), salads (I had the beet salad), and if I'd had any idea how filling this would be, I would have been satisfied and skipped the entree. All of the dishes are very generous and artistically plated. My husband had the John's Hot Chicken with Nashville-style hot sauce and I had the vegetarian curry. This place is incredible!! Service, atmosphere, food.. It all gets a 10/10 from us. We came to celebrate a family members clean bill of health, and it was the most perfect place we could have done it. The waitress was so kind and made sure all our questions were answered and made good recommendations about what we should order. We had a few appetizers and they were tasty! Deviled eggs were incredible as well as the burrata. The shishitos were a large serving and were good, but wouldn't get them again. And the duck wings were tough and hard to eat, but that comes with duck meat. Regarding the main course, oh my, it was some of the best food we have ever had. Everyone was SO happy with their food. Two people got the burger and loved it. The meat was so tender. Two people got the Korean beef bowl and they were both talking about the ramen noodles the next couple of days! Another member of our family got the meatloaf, and it seemed to be the least liked meal of the night, but was still very tasty. Lastly, I got the Apple Brined Pork Shank, and wow.... INCREDIBLE! The meat was so tender and fell right off the bone. The flavors were so sophisticated, it makes me hungry just thinking about it! The burger was excellent, but i was a bit too full to fjnish it. I highly recommend the linguine and meatballs, i think those are a must try. I have dined at Walkers 20 times and can confidently say that I am an insider now. First, the service is always awesome. Our server Wednesday was cool blond lady (can't remember her name for the life of me) that absolutely made our experience. With all large parties there will be a delay as plate timing becomes tougher but she stayed with us making sure that pacing of Apps and Drinks made up for a slight delay from the kitchen. Then the food came out and it was, as always, up to Chef Nick's standards. The burrata, deviled eggs and carnitas tacos are amazing every time. The Korean BBQ is as good as I have had in Korea town/LA. I also love the Pork belly dish and recommend it all the time. Walkers is by far the best of Billings and if anywhere near downtown it's a must stop for dinner. read more

Servers are knowledgeable and quick to bring your order. Weekends can be busy so I'd recommend calling to reserve a table if with a group, but on weekdays walking in I have never had an issue getting seated. YUM! $38 New York Strip...stole a bite from a coworker: juicy, meaty, and delish! $11 Bolognese...half portion of tasty enough red sauce pasta. Also corkage charge is only $10!
