Do better guys! We've been coming here since you opened. Over the last two years we have seen it slowly declining! Everything from tables being dirty, trashes are overfull, and drinks being made either incorrectly or served lukewarm. We waited at the counter to order with nobody in line for seven minutes. We watched the barista check her text messages, giggle with her barista buddy and then when she seen us was like "oh I didn't see you ". My wife and I stopped at the City brew on King Ave. We used the walk up window as the drive through as there were many cars in line. There was a customer waiting for their drinks in front of us. After they received their order, it was our turn. We waited about 5 minutes for someone to come back to the window to take our order. My wife ordered a early grey tea iced with heavy cream and a shot of sugar free vanilla flavoring. I ordered a large iced white chocolate latte. As well as a double stacked bagel sandwich. My drink came out 1st. Then about 5 mins later my wife's HOT EARLY GREY TEA CAME OUT HOT NOT ICED. ON THE STICKER IT SAID ICED. She told the lady that it was to be iced not hot. She closed the window and walked away. Not saying sorry or anything. When my double stacked PO pretzel was given to me she said here and slammed and closed and locked the window. When I got to my car and opened up my sandwich it was cheese pretzel. I walked back to the window. Was finally able to get the attention of one of the ladies inside and explained I received the wrong sandwich. And asked for the correct one I was told they were out of the one I asked for. I said hmmm why was I not told instead of just giving me something else. I asked for a refund due to the fact 2 of the 3 items ordered were incorrect. The lady said she could not do that as there was no manager there. I then said please give me a everything begal sandwich. When it was done the lady opened the window and said here.slammed the window and walked away. We have been perks members for years and never had such an horrible experience before.! So please STAY AWAY FRON THE CITY BREW ON KING BY SAMS club. Staff is very rude and unprofessional. We will not be going back. As a added note one other person walked up to the window and waited. I just sat in line for 20 minutes behind a car that only got 1 cup of coffee. Not my usual CB. When I got to the window their excuse was couldn't find the coffee. They need a pullout lane so we don't have to wait on their incompetence. read more

City Brew is a local chain of coffee shops that is based out of Billings, MT. This particular location is one of their larger ones and even has a roasting facility where they roast their many different varieties of beans. I'm a black coffee type of guy looking for a great flavored drip cup of coffee. Each time I was in the store, I was very excited to see a variety of drip coffee blends to choose from. Each roast that I tried was full of bold flavor. The barristas were great at explaining each blend to me and they tasted just as described. If drip isn't your style there was any number of blended coffee options of choose from. If you like the coffee you're drinking they have all the blends in whole bean for sale too for what looked like a good price. Locally based coffee joins can often be overrated, I can assure you that City Brew was far from and is an excellent coffee shop to grab a quick drink or sit around and hang out in. read more

Love this coffee shop. I grew up in Billings and have spent countless hours studying here and enjoying their variety of beverages and treats when I was in school. Recently came here late night while visiting my parents and got a decaf latte. I NEVER order this because there's something about decaf that I find lacking in flavor (perhaps the caffeine? Lol.) But, nonetheless, it was delicious. Just the right amount of milk, the froth was completely gone as I took the first couple sips so I feel like I got a lot of liquid, which I like. Guys this place is awesome. I only actually came here because all the Starbucks in the area had garbage reviews. Ambience is good. The spinach wrap I had was light and tasty. And the iced coffee they have is very flavorful. It'd be cool if they had some isolated booths to crank out some work but it was easy for me to find a cafe style table with power nearby to send out some emails before the weekend. Recently moved to Billings. Most my experiences have been exceptional with fantastic and quick customer service but twice now at the King/24th location I have ordered with a drink with almond milk and been given cows milk. The first time I caught it before drinking the beverage and they made me a new one without charging me but the second time they charged me the almond milk but used cows milk and I didn't realize it until I had drank almost half of it. Very frustrating as I am dairy free for health reasons, not flavor. read more

I'm a sucker for coffee shops when I travel. Though City Brew isn't a one-off (there are multiple locations), it carries off the Starbucks-wannabe vibe pretty well. Inviting and friendly staff and inviting spaces make it a good morning java jump point. I had an Americano and a cranberry-orange scone. Neither were amazing, but both were solid... in fact the scone was literally solid. I'd say City Brew is a fair alternative to the mega-coffee chain, but lacking the independent coffee house soul. read more

Ok, this is a great place! I had another review up here but I stopped by today (3/18/16) and wow, what a big change. Very busy and yet not at all crowded, this place really holds alot of people very well and with a good level of privacy, I used to spend alot of time here a few years ago when I was down at Crow and it was excellent then as well as every time I would stop in over the past few years. Today it is even better. Staff are busy but very friendly and the snacks and drinks are yummy. Today I ordered what I thought was 'just' some coffee with a sugar free syrup, but turned out to be some sort of foamy deliciousness! My mistake turned out to be an incredibly good drink. I think I need to have more mistakes in my life because it was way better then what I would have ordered on my own. We stopped here on our way across the country. The staff was super friendly. We ordered 5 drinks and they were made in a matter on minutes . I'm picky about coffee, but went to this place based on reviews and it is great. really enjoyed this place. I went in to order but took our order to go. I stopped in here to get some work done during a business trip and had a pleasant experience. Ultimately, I have no complaints, as this is a clean cafe, with plentiful seating, kind staff, and as expected coffee. This place reminds me of a Starbucks chain, with a similar front set up and drink sizes labeled short, tall, and grande. This specific location has gone down hill!! Last couple times I've gone my breakfast sandwiches have been overlooked so the turkey bacon is burnt or the muffin is hard as a rock. Also, the lattes have too much milk, filled to the brim (so you spill all over when you grab it), and no foam. Disappointed! read more
